Renee - I was here for a little while; no one showed up. Sorry to say, but DD & I are heading to bed now. (yeah, we're wild and crazy girls over here!:woohoo: ) Will have to catch up tomorrow!

Have a good night!

Oh, that is okay. I might not be too far behind you after my late night last night and the 1/4 of the drink I have had tonight! :rotfl2:

Cammie, you got some kind of foreign matchmaking ad going at the top! Maybe they want you to be a mail order bride! :lmao:

Laura - okay, I keep reading about the tax stuff, and went to IRS tax code (which are clear as mud!) and I keep coming up with the same thing. I read it as you have to get above the standard deduction by itemizing in order to see any value. What do you think? It seems like we always submit our mortgage interest, prop tax, and donations, but always end up still claiming the standard donation, so I'm assuming we don't get above. I need to find our tax return and look at it to see. I'm pretty sure we did a long form.

I copied this in from

_______________
So how do you know whether you should itemize or claim the standard deduction? Start by finding out which standard deduction amount applies to you.

It depends on your filing status:
$10,700 for married couples who file joint returns.

If you have enough deductions -- for example, your donations plus mortgage interest plus real estate taxes -- to exceed the standard amount, it generally makes good tax sense to itemize.

Does everyone have free long distance on their cells? If so, I have a conference call number we can use - sometime we could arrange a group call and really talk! :grouphug:

I'm soooo in for this!

Me again! I wanted to share a fun, positive Disney story! My friend has a 13 yr old girl named Kelsey. She is just about to graduate from 6th grade. There is a group of "mean girls" at her school, and then there is her group. There are 3 of them, including Kelsey who have been very kind and friends to a girl in the class named Amy with Down's Syndrome all through school :lovestruc

Well, last night Amy's parents threw a party for the girls and their families - Crush from Nemo called and told them that since they had been so kind to Amy all these years, they are all going to Disneyland!!

Amy's parents are taking all 4 girls, plus 2 older teens and another set of parents to Disneyland for four days! Isn't that sweet? I just love it when kids get rewarded for doing the right thing!

Great story, and kudos to Amy's parents for recognizeing those girls! I just love happy stories like this!

Well, today DH and I tackled the garage. We've been here six months, have a three car garage and can't get even one car in there!!!! Once we take the garbage out Monday, we should be able to get both cars in, plus the golf cart. It looks awesome! We hauled a bunch of boxes up to the attic, and then we use the 3rd garage space for storage, lawnmower, golf cart, etc. In Florida, you can't put anything breakable in the attic or it will shatter in the heat! So we have all our Christmas, Easter, Halloween decorations stored in the garage.

Then we went out for a nighttime golf cart ride, saw three deer, a rabbit, and a frog! We went out on the cart path of the golf course, it was soooo dark and spooky (even with our little headlights on!). We were back in the part of the subdivision that has no homes built yet, so it was super dark.

Tomorrow is cleaning day in the morning. DH is golfing so DD and I will sleep in then tackle the bathrooms and some general cleaning. Then we're off to the pool! Oh, at the pool party last night we played Bingo (lots of fun with free beer!) and I won a $50 gift certificate to the clubhouse restaurant! :cool1:

OK, off to bed now, my muscles are achy from tackling the garage today. See y'all in the morning!!!!

I'm here Renee! By the time I read evryone's post the others were gone!

Sad to see some of the names that are banned. Still am not sure of the reasons.
I'm staying out of this for now; I like it here on the Dis!

I am so.... curious about this. There HAS to be more to it.

I do but like others have said we would all end up talking at the same time!:rotfl2: It WOULD be dangerous.

Congrats on all that you got done!
I got a lot done too but all downstairs and outside. My flat looks like a train wreck! The P's are home safe and sound and I am back to reality tomorrow (no more shots).

Debbie and Renee - I see you!!! Are you really here?

Still here! I was posting a reply to my "secret sister" for CKU. She actually posted on the message board her name and that I was her secret sister. I think she meant to email the director, but ended up posting it for everyone - including me - to read. I about spewed drink from me as I read it! TOO FUNNY!

I'm trying to read some of this stuff about the dis - can't make heads or tails of it. Oh, well, I like my little thread here, and I don't get into all the bashing on the other threads.....

I'm off to bed now ladies! Debbie, glad you Ps made it home safely! Since DH won't be home tomorrow I'll be able to share coffee with y'all!

Great story, and kudos to Amy's parents for recognizeing those girls! I just love happy stories like this! Yeah, I meant to say I LOVED that story, not so much for the disney trip, but for the little girls hearts

Well, today DH and I tackled the garage. .Why don't you come do mine too?

Oh, at the pool party last night we played Bingo (lots of fun with free beer!) and I won a $50 gift certificate to the clubhouse restaurant! :cool1: Free beer - you don't say! :rolleyes1

I actually thought, this must be a bad night when Debbie isn't even on! :lmao:

I'm reading that blog and am even more confused! I do lurk all over the dis and will start threads for answers but I don't jump into all that craziness!

I do the same. I just don't get it either - but I just assume since I am clueless, that is a good thing!

Okay - I'm going to wrap it up tonight too. Debbie & Kara have a good night - catch ya tomorrow!
