Tessa sorry to hear about your blues.

I am waiting for DS to take a nap so I can hop in the shower. This motherhood thing. Sometimes I miss the days of being able to run out of the house at a mins. notice.

We are looking at buying a new car Minivan or Xterra any experience with them pros cons?

Hope everyone has a great Sat.

Yes, I just read through all 15 pages of posts from last night!!!! And I just have a few comments to make....

Yum! That looks like something I would like! Actually, I am drinking a Starbucks! DH is on the desktop on Bass Pro site and I am watching Dateline. Can you say BORING? Both kids are gone, and that is what we are doing! I didn't shave my legs, so I am keeping to myself!

Too funny! That's my little clue to DH, too, sometimes - sorry, didn't shave my legs today! :rotfl2:

icon_drunk.gif
Here Kara, Kara, Kara....:lmao:

Now that's just wrong!!!! :lmao:

Poor Kara...you know she must be sick if she ditched us!

Yes, I went to bed to read and conked out about 8:30. DH came in at 9 to try to wake me for the Travel Channel Disney show but I wasn't moving...

DH just came up to offer to get me another drink. He thinks he is getting lucky tonight if he boozes me up!

:lmao:

Now Kara is missing out. Okay I made DH leave the suitcases in the extra room today because we are leaving in only 7 months

Aw, shucks, you really missed me? :rotfl:

Kara can fly out of Jacksonville for $135 each leg Debbie. I bet she can get a special to make it cheaper too!

Look at that, Renee just offered to fly me to Chicago!!! :worship: :rotfl2:

And finally, I went back through all those old posts to find the "bylaws" as Renee put it!!!!

I'm thinking B) we'd all be fighting because we would all be trying to control the trip! OR C) we'd all be drunk because nobody had any control over the trip! :rotfl2: Either way, it'd be fun to be a fly on the wall, huh?

We'd make Erin and Tessa eat biscuits and gravy the American way! :lmao:

And I'd be forced to "relax." :confused3

You would not be allowed any XFusion! Or maybe you would be given an IV tube! :rotfl:

Let's see, we'd stay at Cammies DVC resort! Tammie, you there, too? :cool1:

Jillian would have to bring Badookie cause he's so darn cute! AND it's fun to say "badookie!" :lmao:

Renee would not be allowed to eat at any character meals since she's got 27 on her itinerary for 4 days! :lmao:

Keahi would be way too tanned so she'd be banished to the indoors for 3 months before the trip. :beach:

Laura would get a sunburn on her neck for the first time since there' no hair hanging there! :scared1: So she'd need lots of XFusion to feel better.

And anybody who brings a child relinquishes all control!!!!! That'll make you leave kids at home! :rotfl2:

OK, now that my lovely daydream is over.......

I feel slightly better that last night, but still a bit funky. DH is singing while he vacuums. Not pretty - although any man who cleans house is sexy, huh? :rotfl2:

Hiya everyone - ........

It is soooooooo cold here!!!!! Under 50F brrrrrr - not fair , I want to be back over there..... Still living in Florida time zone i think - not waking till gone 10 am , not wanting food at the right time, hopefully things will get sorted soon....I'm soooooooooo cold........ there's noooooo sun and the sky is dull and definitely smaller than over there!!!! Post trip blues have set in quickly!

Tessa

Nothing like getting hit with a big, fat smack of reality when you get home from Disney!

I understand what you're going through - that first week back from WDW truly is the worst! Hope things improve by the end of the weekend and really looking forward to seeing pictures from your trip!

BTW - did you ever bump into Erin while you were there?

I was so...sick last night when I went to bed!! OMG I wish it was alcohol but instead I learned NOT to mix XRated Fusion slushie, DQ blizzard and Sun Chips....

Tessa.....I know what you are going through and I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!! Nothing is worse then the first couple weeks back. The only help I have EVER found is to get a new ticker!

Tammie....Glad you had a fun party! You were on the dis at MIDNIGHT my time. I was out cold!

Cammie ...glad you slept in. Feels good doesn't it! I got up early to take care of our doggie.

Kara...glad you got some rest and feel a little better. Don't over do it so you get better.

Jillian...I have gotten to the point where sometimes I go balistic when the kids follow me into the bathroom....It's like come on all ready......
Do you really need to watch Mommy poop!

Yes, I'm still here. Was getting ready for the gym - when DD called. It was 10am and they still haven't left for the airport yet :scared1: - for a noon flight! :scared1: :scared1: And they have, at least, a half hour drive! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I'm not even taking this trip and I'm obsessing over it! My ex is such a knucklehead. He's so used to running around - only worrying about himself. When he has the girls, he doesn't re-adjust and makes them rush around also. Really stresses my younger DD out. Of course, she's used to mom getting her places early! I don't know what the ex is thinking though. There is so much stuff he has get through security for my older DD! :sad2:

Debbie - where's that smiley when you need it?

OH I have found a many smileys for your ex!!!! Maybe I should PM them to you since they are so bad!:rotfl2:

I feel so bad wanting alone time. Does anyone else feel like that? I want to be a mother I love him to pieces, but ugh.

Kara Badookie is NOT coming with us LOL he is staying with Dad.

We ARE having Xfusion because then I justify spending $30 on it:rotfl:

Debbie- I haven't been to the bathroom alone since he was born. When Dh is home he will bring him in while I am in the shower because he misses mama. :sad2:

Jillian,

I know exactly what you mean - even on holiday of our dreams - at down town disney last week I sent DH off with the girls to the lego store so I could just look round the making memories and the Christmas shop without having to be "on watch" ALL the time - just an hour felt sooooooo gooood, and mine are 5 and 7 now!!!!! I rarely get a shower without "Mu- uuu- uum - where's the ----" How many syllables are there in mum (or mom:goodvibes)???

I feel your frustration..... Give it 10 years or so.... and you will want to know where THEY are all the time :sad2: - payback!!

Tessa

Tessa

I agree and I tell myself that all the time because life flies by so fast but it doesn't always work! I go to bed feeling guilty so many nights!

I think when you are a SAHM people don't think you need or want a break because this is what you chose to do....
I figure I will just try and limit it to a couple things but I have decided the bathroom is one of them. I told DH I want locks for ALL our doors for various reasons. I also have decided that since we are in close quarters and always on top of each other that they aren't allowed to "hang out" in my bedroom either. I'm never even in there anyway unless to sleep. Plus, I do let DD sleep with me on occasion (DS is still in his crib -thank God).

I better go!! It's gloomy here but smells like spring so I don't mind too much! I will be out of town tomorrow. Don't miss me too much! I'll be back in the PM!:rotfl2: We are going to Wisconsin to put the pier in at our family summer home (the one my Mom shares with my Aunt).

I will be back and forth here today though. You know I CAN NOT stay away!

Debbie - you totally crack me up with your TMI!!! Here's one for ya - I highly recommend that everyone have locks on their bedroom door! Especially on New Years Eve when the fireworks might wake up a little one at a most inoportune time! Enough said! :rotfl2: Oh, make that two years in a row - you'd think we'd learn!!!!!!

Tessa - I feel your pain and I will have the same pain exactly 3 weeks from today! :scared1: Just relax and get back to normal - the only reason we're not harassing you too bad yet is that you have jet lag - but we want pictures!!!!!

Cammie - why is it that men just can't do it? Your dd's should be on the plane now - have you ever gone to www.flightview.com and actually "watched" the flight? I do this all the time when DH flies somewhere alone. That way I know where he is and exactly when he gets in. I think it's off by 10-15 minutes for security, but it always makes me feel like I'm with him when he flies - awwwww shucks! :rotfl2: I'm sure he was counting on skipping the security lines, too, because they usually have a separate line for people who need extra assistance, i.e. wheelchairs, crutches, the elderly, etc.

Jillian - I soooo feel for you! Do NOT feel guilty as we all feel that way. I love my DD dearly, can't imagine life without her, yet there are times that I look at DH and say "Mommy time!" then I go take a hot bubble bath with the door locked and the fan on to drown out any noise outside the bathroom! Don't forget you're a family, AND a couple, AND a woman. And the order changes depending on the situation.

I slept 12 hours last night!!!! :scared1: So today I'm kinda in a funk - too much sleep I think. But obviously my body needed it....

Off to Home Depot and WalMart - I found the cutest sheer curtains for DD's room at WalMart and just measured to see if they'd fit and they do!!!! So I need to get a pretty rod to hang them today. They are a sheer gauzy fabric with flowers appliqued a few places. Perfect because I don't have to line them, and they were like $10 per panel (I just needed 2 panels) - I couldn't get the fabric for that price!!!! Yea me!

OK, y'all will find this funny... I hope!

My sister's husband is a total computer nerd!!! He plays online games with people across the country, etc. Well, he has become friends with them online and even flew to California (from Ohio) to meet one guy, and he and my sis have been to another guy's wedding in DC, etc. We make so much fun of him for being such a geek, right?

So I tell DH that we're planning a DIS meet and he says, "OMG, you're Todd! You're such a geek!" :rotfl2:

Oh, let me tell you, Jillian, I worked full time and decided to quit work to stay home with DS after a difficult pregnancy. I think I honestly almost lost it for the first year. No one ever helped, DH works a lot, and I was home all the time with a baby and just so craving time to get to myself. It is sad that society doesn't talk about it that much and leaves people thinking they are "bad" because they want some alone time. I left DD for the Disney trip. Was I excited to see her? Absolutely. Was it nice to have 4 days without battling a baby in high chair - you betcha! I love her to pieces, but I'm also looking forward to a solo trip in June from WED to SUN. :woohoo: This will be my first one since DS was born! :scared1: All this to say, your feelings are SO NORMAL. Besides, an older woman told me that think of quality over quantity - and if you take some time for yourself you will find that you are so much more present for DS. And there is nothing to feel bad about either!

As for the van, we broke down and got one this Dec. An Odysee :woohoo: LOVE IT. Now, I went from a Highlander, so I do miss my SUV. I see this as a stage, and with a little one, nothing is better than a DVD player and an automatic sliding door. Plus the trunk room is AMAZING. It is a must with 2 kids I think. When I just had DS, I really enjoyed the Highlander though. I still said I would NEVER own a minivan. :lmao: For some reason, that was harder for me than turning 30!!!

I was so...sick last night when I went to bed!! OMG I wish it was alcohol but instead I learned NOT to mix XRated Fusion slushie, DQ blizzard and Sun Chips....

That combo sounds so wrong!

I having been searching....http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1790598
Anyone have any thoughts on where I can get this?
Nope, but I bet Kara could design one!

It was 10am and they still haven't left for the airport yet :scared1: - for a noon flight! :scared1: :scared1: And they have, at least, a half hour drive! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
It is so a man thing, isn't it?

Kara Badookie is NOT coming with us LOL he is staying with Dad.
Good for you. You need a break! You remind me of myself at that stage. I finally broke down to DH crying that I couldn't do it all the time, and his response was, well I just thought that was what you wanted! Yes, I fully wanted to go to the potty with a baby on my lap - WTH?!? But after I told him that, he helped out more. Now don't expect miracles, but you should set aside some time a day, even if it is 15 minutes to have just to yourself. It is amazing. I have gotten out of that, but I need to start it again. Maybe that is why my weight is creaping up again... humm.. So still want to put up a weight ticker? I will do it if you will. :)

DH said we were all off our rockers when I told him.

We're not just geeks - we're "Control Freaks and Worry Wart Geeks"!

And we're darn proud of it! (didn't know if I could use the other "d" word!)

Two things I could use your help on...

1. I'm having a yard sale in 2 weeks. It is our subdivisions one. I have a Graco-Duo double stroller. I bought it new for $295 :sad2: and used it once. I did use the matching carseat though, and gave it to DSIL. I was thinking of putting it in there. What should I ask for it to sell it? $100, $75? Too much? Would you pay it if you were looking for one? It is the Tan/Black gender neutral pattern.

2. How much do you ask for kids clothes? Specifically, the GAP, Gymboree stuff that is in almost new condition? $3????

Thanks!

Guess what? I started in on DH about vacation and he said I was stressing him out. :confused3 He did say he'd like to go to the beach but didn't want to do two trips this year. SO I'm guessing he forgot that we said we weren't going this fall... :rolleyes1, He aslo said maybe a zoo trip could be thrown in. DS is wanting to go to Disney, but I know that DH would NEVER go for that right now. He really would love relaxation.

I went to WW today. Up a pound. :sad2: I talked to my leader who is great. No guilt, just help. It was nice. So I feel much more optimistic about moving forward. Now I just need to set a goal. And some rewards. I always have problems with that because my first thought goes to FOOD for rewards. Not good.

Thanks so much for directing me to this website. I just checked it and found out that their flight has already landed. I actually found myself breathing a huge sigh of relief! I know I'm crazy! I'll assume they made the flight because I'm sure I would have heard from DD if they didn't.

Anyway, very cool site!

Aaack - I'm supposed to be putting in my screens but I keep coming back to this computer! Can you say addicted?

Renee - Is there a second-hand store you could sell your stuff at? They might be a little more reasonable in giving you your money's worth.

This is my experience with yard sales (around here anyway) - people that come to them, for the most part, are looking for REAL bargains. I don't think they look to shell out more than $50 for anything - no matter what good of shape it's in.

And, my first thought goes to FOOD for anything - not just rewards. If I'm mad, sad, happy, cranky - you're not alone!

Yes, Cammie we have a couple. They figure out what they'd sell it for, so this maybe $100 and give you 30%, so $30. :sad2: I think clothes they give you about 50 cents each or something like that. The sad thing is they don't take much either. Just a few outfits due to their store size limitations. I generally take it to Good Will. There is this consignment sale they do here twice a year. You do only clothes though. They each have to have an index card with all this info, you have attach an assigned bar code, you have to take it in and put it in the group with its size. The tag has to be just so and on a metal hanger... are you catching my drift? I'm to LAZY. :rotfl2: But I may have to do that.

And I hear you on the food. I'm bored... I'll have a cheeto. I walk past the kitchen and Swiss Rolls are out, I'll have one. I'm sad, munch munch munch - hurt, crying, mad, bored, everything. FOOD and I'm talking lots of food out too so that is $$$ plus fattening! Don't even get me started on what damage I can do at Macaroni Grill!

Glad the girls flight landed! What a cool website! I'm always so happy to know that flights have landed. I worry about EVERYTHING!

PS - I'm addicted too. There must be cat nip on our computer screens.
