Staying at the GF is the reason my kids won't be getting any college money though

I just read this to DH and he about choked on his XFusion drink (I'm bartender tonight!!!).

He's reading about "firsts" at WDW and he is trying to figure out our firsts next month. He just said he's going to try a Dole Whip!!!

hi there, feel like I am walking in and out of a party.

Poor Kara got fried. that's what you get for playing hookie. Just kidding I feel bad for you. I am dreading the "first day fry". No matter what I do one part of by body, ie. ears, neck, calves, shins, nose...gets a really good burn the first day I am anywhere there is sun.

I agree Debbie needs a ticker. I am considering putting one up for when we go back with DD 17mos. I will be back there before she turns 3.

Debbie - you are a genius with the XFusion!!!! I've introduced several people to it!!! I have never stayed on the monorail so I don't know what I'm missing. I would really like to try the Poly though. I don't know if I'd like GF though, is it pretty snooty??? I know that sounds strange since it's WDW, but it's just so beautiful. I just love BW so much!!!! But since DH and I stayed there for our honeymoon, that is OUR resort, so we would like to try to WL for Christmas. Maybe BC with DD next time we can afford to do deluxe!!!

Haven't booked the trip to BW yet - waiting to see if there are any FL resident discounts then.

Don't even try DELUXE because you won't want to give it up (and it is pricey). GF is not snooty when you stay there at all. You can hear the shows and parades from MK while you are on your balcony or walking around. I watch WISHES from the resort or our room....We get the lagoon electric lite parade in front of our resort......I could go on and on....

I've stayed at GF - didn't find it too snooty at all. It's a beautiful resort! But, truly our favorite park is Epcot, although MK is a close second. It was just more important for us to have the short walk back to the BW at the end of the night; rather than be on the monorail.

I hear WL is beautiful at christmas; but many people complain about the transportation. I'll let you know my experiences after June. We just visited the Poly this past Nov. - was not impressed. Reminded me of that Brady Bunch episode when they all go to Hawaii!

Yeah...people who love EPCOT love the Boardwalk and it makes sense.
Hey... we stayed at AKL for my 40th and that was pretty cool too but very removed from the parks.

I have stayed at the Poly and have to say it's my second favorite. GF is first. I stayed at CR and it is really close to MK!

Yeah but you aren't going to go on the balcony at the Hilton and be able to practically touch Space Mountain or walk to the monorail and be in MK in a matter of minutes or hear the Spectro Magic parade at the pool....Ok Ok OK I'll shut up!

AKL does sound interesting - too bad my children are not animal fans at all! And I wouldn't like being so far from everything else. I know you always rent a car, Debbie, so in that case that probably works really well.

I'm telling you - for theming and room size, I LOVE Old Key West. But it was just so far from everything. One year we did rent a van, and that made things alot of easier. But I need to rent a handicap-accessible van, which runs @$1000/week. Not worth it for me.
