We decided to rent a car we found a rate thru Alamo and it is costing us $140 for the week.

When are you leaving?

I have taken a taxi usually they are parked and you can just hop in, but beware they are very expensive.

In about two weeks! So excited!

Renee - You guys are going to have so much fun together. :thumbsup2

Don't be scared of using ME - just prepared - stuff happens. And, no matter what happens, just remember - you're in Disney!:goodvibes

Erin- I restate the fact my brain fell out. I went back and re-read your post - your dd is at brownies not that that you ate one...:rotfl:

Ok - TOO funny!:rotfl:

And my Big news.... I am cutting 14 inches off of my hair. :scared1: I have been growing it since DD 16 mos was born and it is really too long. I am donating it to a charity call Locks of Love. They make wigs for little kids that have cancer or alopecia (where their hair falls out and doesn't grow back). I think I am going to be bald. Of course not but it will be a big change. My avatar will not be accurate but it will remind me of how long it was. Wish me luck!

Good luck - and how sweet of you!

Hi everyone! I started to answer everyone, but I couldn't keep up! You girls have been really chatty today! Do I hear some excitement about vacations and Spring???

Laura, ME works great, and it's free! I think I would bring some things, cuz with the All Star resorts being grouped together, I think maybe there is more traffic going there, and it might take longer for your stuff :confused3 Ours was waiting for us when we got to SSR somehow.

A word about the buses, though. If you plan to go back to the resort for nap time during the day, I would probably rent a car. I keep warning everyone that we wasted 10 hours waiting for buses in June. Sometimes they never came, and we had to hop to another resort or walk to DTD in order to get where we were going. It took us 2 1/2 hours to get to DTD from AK one day! :scared1: We will be renting a car from now on! :rolleyes1

Taxis were waiting at AKL every day, and at the parks, but I didn't see any at SSR ever - I don't know if they are at other resorts or not.

CRdisMom, I thought Erin said she ate brownies, too! :rotfl2: Good job on the locks of love! You'll have to post a pic! I'm sure you look beautiful. My DDIL just cut her long hair and donated her ponytail, too!

Debbie, sounds like today was a little better. It is hard to keep up with the house when you have little ones. I am going through the same thing here. The parents don't pick up after or clean after much at all. I am trying not to make a deal, but I told them I was not the maid before they moved in. To be honest, sometimes I just let it go until it gets really bad and then I start complaining that I can't have anyone over cuz the house is too dirty. Then they pick up their mess, but I still get stuck with the cleaning part. I'll call you in the morning when I get up!

Sorry, I can't remember what else I was going to say - have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone! :grouphug:

Hi Girls! I just have to share this sweetness with you all - I'm sure you've seen it before, but I enjoyed it again:

Awww - gave me goosebumps!

What is it about that place? I was in a cranky mood for the first part of the day yesterday; made my call to ME to make reservations and - poof - I was smiley and bouncy for the rest of the day! Makes me happy just talking to WDW! pixiedust:

Good morning all! It's Wednesday - weekend's almost here!

I think I'm ditching the gym today - I've got the itch to do some shopping. Not for myself, of course; I'm no way NEAR ready to try on spring clothes! But my girls need some things and LimitedToo has their "TooBucks" promotion going on -- and I got a bunch of them!:yay:

And, thanks to you guys, I'll be checking out Yankee candle. I like your idea, Debbie, of picking a vacation scent. I LOVE the "VanillaLime" scent but not sure if they're still making it. I had read on other boards of people burning candles in their rooms but I think the plug-ins are a better idea. And, of course, I just got a Yankee Candle coupon in the mail the other day! Gimme another -- :woohoo:

Kara - Just saw your question about DVC pts. and Vero Beach. I'm not familiar with re-sales so I'm really not sure how they work; but wherever you purchase pts. is considered your "home" resort - so you can book there at 11 months out. If you want to use your pts. for any other resort, you have to wait until 7 months out. Unless you are going at a very busy time, I don't think many people have a hard time getting something at 7 months. (Haven't you gotten your husband drunk enough to agree to this yet?)

Tammie - Do you think you had such a horrible time with the buses because it was June and really busy? I'm wondering if we'll be facing the same problem when we go at the end of June. I'm definitely not renting a car but I'm thinking of coming up with some more creative ways to use Disney transportation to get around. Even though we're not staying at the BWV (we're at the VWL), I think I'll use that area as my conduit to other parks. What do you think?

Tessa & Erin - Those recipes looked delish! I'm proud to say my Yorkshire Pudding looks close to the one in the recipe - I must be doing something right!

Have a good day everyone!

Kara- I just noticed the weather I hope it warms a little before Monday

It's supposed to be mid-80's this weekend, and I'm 2 hrs north of Orlando! You'll be fine!

OK, I got teary eyed!

From what I've read, if you buy a re-sale everything remains the same, I just didn't know if it cost more points to stay in a resort other than your home resort. Vero Beach is only about 3 hrs from here, so that would be great for us, too! And it's a LOT cheaper than some of the other resales (I couldn't believe that BWV were very inexpensive, too. Maybe because they were one of the first???).

Having a horribly crappy morning today - Dogs are both sick AGAIN, puppy had a big mess this moring, DH (who is NOT so dear right now!) threw a fit when he had to clean it up, so I went on strike. I called him up and told him to call the vet and figure out a bday treat to take to DD's school tomorrow. If he thinks I've got it so cushy, let HIM try it for awhile! I'm done!!!!!!!!!!!

Just remember - points that may get you a week at Vero Beach may only get you a few days at one of the WDW DVCs. I think there is a higher pt. requirement for stays at WDW.

ps - sorry about the doggie troubles. You need a flower - :flower3:

Good morning everyone. I am getting so excited the week is nearing an end. I made a big boo boo I was suppose to work on Monday and I didn't have it written down on the calendar. I feel like such an A** I can't believe I did that. :confused3

Hope all is well. It is suppose to be warm here today and my mom is coming over to watch the baby so I can get last minute things done sunglasses a new beach towel and a few new bottles for DS.

Dreading that day in May when mine is scheduled. Ahhh the joys of being a woman.

Hair cut went well. My neck is cold. I am trying to get a good picture of me but here is the hair. I'll post once I get a pic that shows the full hair cut.

Kara sorry about the dogs. Gotta love them and DHs.

Off to the gym.....:yay:

OMG Laura!!!! That is a lot of hair! I currently have pretty close to a pixie cut - I was growing it out until some cheap shop I ran into totally butchered it and I had to get it whacked off to look normal. Now I keep going shorter and shorter!!!! But after our trip, I'm going to try to grow back out to a short bob.

I'm just having a really blue day today! I actually scheduled an appt with a therapist for tomorrow because I'm just not as happy here in FL. Never been to a therapist before, but all the Hollywood types do it, so why not? :rotfl2: I'm thinking there is some trigger here that just causes me to fly off the handle so easily. Like dog poop? Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! I did finally tell DH that I want to have the older dog (Bella) put down. I'm seriously beginning to hate her for what I go through, and that's not fair to her OR to me to feel this way. I know it sounds cold and I NEVER thought I'd feel this way, like she was a burden or something. But it's making me a miserable person.

Anyway, pardon my whining today......:crazy2:

Why is it poo is in every facet of our lives...dogs, kids, etc. When I signed up to be a Mom no one told me how often I would have to deal with poo.

Therapy is soooo liberating. I never thought I'd see one but we had a rough patch in our relationship and DH laid down the gauntlet and said either you talk to someone or we're done. Nothing like a little fire under my bottom to get going. Needless to say, it was wonderful. It helped me talk and be open with things I would just bury. It helped remove some of my outbursts. I think we need to go back for a refresher. It's been 3 years since I saw her last.

One more therapy item, it took me 4 or 5 therapists to find the one that would work for me. Good luck

Kara, Sorry to hear about the doggy woes. Hope the therapist goes well. I think that it is a tough situation for you. I hope it gets better soon!

Fairly good day here... okay, so I lie. I took DS & DD to do some shopping. Of course, I end up letting them look at toys because DD got 2 dolls for her birthday, and both are really too big for her to handle, so I wanted to get her a smaller one. Of course, can't buy for one and not the other. DS wants a Star Wars set. GREAT! I have been pushing this off for a while, but DH has let him watch parts of it with him, so now he is all for it! Get it home - JUNK. Vader breaks an arm before I can get them out of the box. Chewies head comes off, DS is hysterical:sad:. I call DH and say that he finally got the toy his dad had been promising him for weeks, and it had broked. DH says take him to the TrUs to get a new one, maybe better made. Ok, load everyone up again, get there run in and DS melts down. They don't have the same set. BUT he finds 20 other toys he wants. Crying fit in the middle of the floor. People look at me like I am a horrible mom. NOT PRETTY. So he decides to leave with nothing in hopes of getting a non-broken set. Go to another store, thank goodness they have it. But at first we didn't think so - so I had him dragging behind me holding on to my shirt crying like mad. I feel 10 inches tall. DS finally gets to the display. KNOCKS IT OUT OF MY HAND in his fit. ERRR. So I tell him to get it and get in line. We have a stern talk in the car. Granted DS is only 3, but I have seriously got to quit getting him stuff. He has turned into one of THOSE kids we were talking about earlier. Now, I cut him slack, because he has been asking for this toy for 6 months, so there has been a lot of buildup, but man....

Hope everyone else's day is going better!

I'm sorry, but I have to laugh at this becaue I'm in the same boat. Remember those days before kids when you would see a child having a meltdown at the store, you'd turn your nose up and think, "my child will never behave that way?" Well, my child turned into that child!!!!!! :rotfl2: There is such a fine line between rewarding and spoiling. My child is spoiled and I'm the first to admit it. She totally has only child syndrome. But it breaks my heart to see her sad (and believe me, she knows how to play me!), when that lip quivers, the eyes tear, and she tells me how she's the ONLY one without such and such. I was worse when she was younger, but now DH is falling into the trap.

Also, I thought you were leaving in 5 DAYS, not 5 weeks. THAT'S why I questioned you about weaning. Imagine, down to twice a day and leaving in 5 days! You had me worried! :rotfl2:
