Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too........ Part 2

Did you notice we're having one of THOSE days on this thread today? Where everything we post keeps coming back to food! Done with my sandwich now and there's a bowl of Jelly Belly jellybeans calling my name! Ok - so my diet lasted a week?!

popcorn:: :cake: :drinking1 = :yay:

Yeah, I was really planning on starting "again" today! So much for that - and since I have to watch that other child today, I can't go to the gym! I actually have to take her to dance class at 4:00 and then pick her up at 6:15 (at least she's not here!) but DD's kid's conditioning class starts at 6:00 which is when I usually go work out. So that shoots that idea! Oh, well.

I have the most annoying man on the phone right now. I'm trying to tune him out, and doing a pretty good job I think! :rotfl: My nerves are really beginning to fray!!!! If I can just get in my 8 glasses of water, I'll feel better! That seems to have a big impact on my weight loss - the more I drink, the more I lose! :confused3

You're right - no Lost this week? And just when I was really back into it! I think I may go to the library and get the first season and rewatch it.

I have major house cleaning all week - yuck! Inlaws are coming in Friday, and our old neighbors are stopping by on their way to WDW on SAturday. I think they're staying in town on Friday night and then coming to our house on SAturday, mainly so that DD's best friend can see her. I really miss this little girl and her family. I felt so good knowing they were right down the street and that they were "best friends." She was a good best friend to have. Unlike the friends DD has made here. Seriously, it's like night and day! She informed me today that the dog was having (and she spelled it out and whispered in my ear) s-e-x with his pillow last night! :scared1: She's 7 - where did she hear this????? I may need to be committed by the time she's a teenager!

DH just came home from work and we're both eyeing those leftovers from yesterday - ham, broccoli salad, fruit salad, crescent rolls - no dieting today! :goodvibes

At least your husband was smart enough not to freeze all the ham!!!!! Unlike SOME DH's that will remain nameless (and clueless!) :rotfl2: !

Good morning everyone (it's still morning for me...;) ) Hope you all had a nice Easter. DH was supposed to work yesterday, but was able to get the day off at the last minute, so we were able to throw together a quickie Easter brunch. I wasn't sure if DS wanted to color and hunt for Easter eggs - after all, he's 9 going on 19... But, to my surprise, he really wanted to. Go figure :confused3

I'm finding it hard to get motivated and do some work -- it's too easy to use the DISboards for distraction. :thumbsup2

Oh well, just wanted to drop by and say HELLO :wave2:

Aloha - keahi

Ooh - is that the broccoli salad recipe with the mayo, sugar, vinegar dressing?

Hi Keahi!

Well, my DirecTV battle has now been temporarily replaced with a battle with olderDD's school - IEP and dr.'s order issues. I swear, I feel I go from one confrontational situation to another. Am I crankier now that I'm in my forties? Or is it that I just refuse to put up with bull**** anymore? I really am a very nice person - when people do the job they're supposed to be doing!!! I hate when Mondays start like this - it's going to be a loooong week! An NO Lost to look forward too!:scared:

I guess I'm off to make egg salad --- later!

I don't think it has anything to do with age. People are just dumb. When dealing with school issue I might not be the nicest person on earth. I guess I just expect them to do what they are supposed to do.

We made it to the YMCA today but I don't think the 30 min on the treadmill worked off the 1/2 bag of jelly beans I took care of this am. Now I have a bowl of jelly beans I am slowly working with. DDs are looking at me like where's ours. Is that a bad thing? :rotfl:

The pudding talk has me thinking I need to make a roast tomorrow. mmmmmm!

Ok, I win the junk food award - can we say Cadbury's creme egg????????:cool1: My jeans are already feeling tight! :confused3

We totally forgot to color eggs this year! I can't believe it! How many more Easter bunny Easters will I have???? Oh, well, hopefully at least one more!

I hope you're not driving to Disney! Make sure the kids are buckled up tight! :lmao: If it makes you feel any better, I backed into a semi because "I couldn't see it" when we were down here house hunting last summer. There was no trailer, just the cab, and so when I backed up, I couldn't see the big long part of the truck that apparently the trailer sits on. Yeah, I caught heck for that one! It put a nice hole in my bumper and we're not getting it fixed. The entire bumper needs to be replace all because of a hole about the size of a quarter. Not worth it. Plus, if we leave it damaged, DH can always point at it to remind me of my fabulous driving skills! :drive:

Nope we're flying. Glad I bought tickets when I did. I think they are going for $1000+ for 3 seats now. Got mine for $725. :yay:

It gets better. DH kept the rim of the tire to remind me of the boo-boo. Gotta love him.

It snowed all day yesterday. I think they said this was the largest continuous snowfall since Thanksgiving. I love the idea of the White Easter Song.

I haver never had Yorkshire pudding but that sounds delicious.

Hahahahaa my DD will be pleased her White Easter song is catching on :yay:
As for yorkie puds from this GFATP (Girl from across the pond thanks Debbie) they are lovely lovely lovely my DD will eat as many as she physically can in 1 sitting

Yorshire pudding - YUMMY! Ok, I have a recipe too, that I've been using for years and years but I pour my batter into an 8x8 pan instead of individual muffin cups. Is that very un-British of me?

Ooh no that's a good way too plus doing that with sausages in too yum yum yum

Does your Yorkshire pudding come out that way? I've seen recipes that say you can use a n 8x8 pan but I didn't know if it would come out that way. Hmmm.... May have to try that (unless of course the GFATP say it's not cool!).

This GFATP says :thumbsup2 to that way too

Hope all you girls have had a great Monday .. our long weekend is over and now back to normality tomorrow .. however that means only 4 school days this week :yay:

OMG! I just got off the phone with the craziest person!!!!! Remember, I'm in customer service and I get lots of crazies, but there must be a full moon or something! We made an error in shipping (hey, it happens!) and I'm trying to fix it and the guy said, "you're not ALLOWED to make this mistake." What???? Oh, it quickly went downhill from there. :rotfl2:

Laura - I'm laughing that DH kept the rim - sounds like something mine would do! :rotfl:

Cammie - I'm so sorry about the hi def! You so "need" that. Just tell DirectTV that they are not "allowed" to make that mistake! I'm gonna start using that and see where it gets me. Probably about as far as this nut got with me! :lmao:

I finally took the ham out of the freezer - I soooo want big fat ham sandwiches for dinner tonight! Loads of mayo, lettuce, tomato! Yum! Let's see just how tight these jeans can go without popping!

Well, I'm off to contact another customer that I just know is going to scream at me too. Oh, joy! I just  my job!

Jelly beans are soooo addicting! My food store packages the JellyBelly brand in 1/2pd. containers and displays them in the fruit & veggie aisle! I mean, c'mon - what's a girl to do? Do I want a banana or a banana-flavored jellybean? And since my daughter got her braces on, they're off limits to her - which means I'm the one responsible for the bowl always being empty!

We totally forgot to color eggs this year! I can't believe it! How many more Easter bunny Easters will I have???? Oh, well, hopefully at least one more!

Oh, I'm sure you must have many more Easter bunny Easters left! Trust me, if it involves them getting something for nothing, kids will hold onto it as long as they can!

Ooh no that's a good way too plus doing that with sausages in too yum yum yum

As if this dish isn't fattening enough ......:rotfl:

I know i know enough to put you off hey  no wonder my DD wouldn't eat it even though she loves yorkie puds

Too tired to post...I'll be back though!
Day started out great and just went downhill from there......
I am the meanest Mom on earth, worst wife and a horrible daughter............

I did put my Disney music on and I took some deep breathes...
It didn't really work but I can sense Spring is almost here and tomorrow is a new day to try again!:flower3:

Debbie--I think it had to be the day. I am sure you are not the meanest Mom on earth, worst wife and a horrible daughter. We all have those days. Warmer weather is on the way, it has to be. Cheer up :goodvibes

We made an error in shipping (hey, it happens!) and I'm trying to fix it and the guy said, "you're not ALLOWED to make this mistake." What???? Oh, it quickly went downhill from there.

I am a CS supervisor for a non-traditional bed company. I get these crazies too. I'll have to remember that line. I love it. Your not allowed to make that mistake.:rotfl:

I'm at work now--very dangerous that they haven't blocked the access to this site. :)

Oh i know and we call that @Toad in the hole which should really put you off hahahhahaha
we had those as kids but it was a piece of white bread with a fried egg in the middle.

gotta go talk to everyone tomorrow

Hope everyone had a great Easter we are down to 7 days. I can't believe single digits. I have been running around like crazy trying to get everything done. Plus the Holiday Oh MY

Oh well, just wanted to drop by and say HELLO :wave2:

Aloha - keahi

Aloha! Nice to have you here today! I am trying to use the DIS for a reward when I get a certain number of "work things" done. Somehow, I keep getting distracted and peeking early. :goodvibes

Ooh - is that the broccoli salad recipe with the mayo, sugar, vinegar dressing?

Hi Keahi!

I didn't make this one - DDIL's grandma did. But it is so good! Tastes like what you described - only the dressing has a little "kick" to it - maybe a little dill?? I'm not sure - really good - onions, grapes, bacon

At least your husband was smart enough not to freeze all the ham!!!!! Unlike SOME DH's that will remain nameless (and clueless!) :rotfl2: !

Now how does he plan to eat it? :confused3 I put the scalloped potatoes in the freezer cuz I was out of room in the fridge - then everyone was looking for it at lunch time today! Guess I did the same thing! :rotfl:

OMG! I just got off the phone with the craziest person!!!!! Remember, I'm in customer service and I get lots of crazies, but there must be a full moon or something! Hope you enjoyed the ham sandwiches! Your "crazy" story reminded me about my DBIL working for a computer tech service company. A guy actually called and told him his "cup holder" wouldn't go back in.....he thought the CD-ROM drive was a cup holder! They are out there on the roads, ladies!

Too tired to post...I'll be back though!
Day started out great and just went downhill from there......
I am the meanest Mom on earth, worst wife and a horrible daughter............

I want you to talk nice about my friend Debbie! I'm sure everyone was just too demanding today - you are trying to take care of alot right now!

Debbie--I think it had to be the day. I am sure you are not the meanest Mom on earth, worst wife and a horrible daughter. We all have those days. Warmer weather is on the way, it has to be. Cheer up :goodvibes

I had a CS training one time by a very funny lady. She suggested saying, "I'll have to talk to my supervisor." Put them on hold, then proceed to file your nails with your "supervisor." When you come back, they have calmed down and so have you! ;)

Well, it's really late - I'd better get to bed - have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! Hello to Jillian, Cammie, Pam, Pam2, Sewer, Erin, Tessa, Laura and everyone else!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR
GGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Sorry - just had to get that out of my system. Some idiot reversed into our car yesterday - was not looking AT ALL!! We rang the insurance, they were sweetness and light, said their recommended repair garage would pick up the car this morning, leave a courtesy car and take ours off to repair it.... HA HA HA

The garage rang - as it is driveable (just!!) can hubby take it in sometime - oh and we close for repair estimates at 4.30 - do they suppose no body has to work!!!!!! Their pick up is broken so they can't come get it - and they don't do courtesy cars either!!!!!!

To top it off DH is in a meeting and unreachable, so I get to stress out about it -yippeee! Glad we don't need the car for our trip. But can't see it being sorted before we go away either.....:sad1:

What is it with this board - first mum's then kids ill, then dogs, now cars.....(cue X-files music.....do dee do do, do dee do do)

Sorry - I've calmed down now... enraged and tearful at the same time was not good .....

Toad-in-the-hole is yummy!!! My lot love Yorkshire pud and love sausage links (I think you call them) but NOT toadies WHY!

And yep, I am soooo excited about our trip, just cannot wait - but am starting to stress about the tickets - 11 days and the travel agent doesn't have them yet...... but last time we didn't get them till 6 days out, so am holding on to that thought for now....... As a complete control freak I am definitely NOT in a good place right now, stress hormones are running wild!!

Cheers,
Tessa
