Wow I missed a lot last night.

Congrats on hitting 600 Kara and 1600 Tammie.:cheer2:

Jillian - I understand the vent. DHs need that every once and again. It seems to help the natural order of things.

We just home from an Easter egg hunt in the snow. The poor kids were kicking snow to find the eggs. The eggs were hidden before the snow fell. It will be funny to drive by the park next week to see how many eggs got missed. :)

On the way home from work at 11 pm, I hit a curb going around the corner. Road were pretty icey. I got out to look at the tire and make sure I didn't do any body damage and guess what....the stupid doors locked. So there I am two blocks from the grocery store (had to get milk for DD) and van is running with phone, purse and keys inside. UGHHH!! Those are the days you wish you had On-Star. A nice person stopped to help. Was able to call DH and he started yelling. He sent my Dad to come and help me. yes I am 32 yrs old and my dad still bails me out of trouble. Guess it is one of the perks of having them live so close. We changed the tire and off I was. Got home at 1 AM. What a rocking night.

Right now DH is out getting a new tire and rim for van. It turns out to be an inexpensive fix only $60. At least I didn't make the air bags go off. I am so ready for winter to be done.

Have a Happy and blessed Easter!

Hi Ladies…

Cammie.....I didn’t sleep well myself and sleep is VERY important to me! For one I am so much more anxious and temperamental when I don’t get 8 – 9 hours. Believe me I wish I functioned well on less. I would love to get about joyfully at 6am but it ain’t happening!

Erin…Of course it is there fault!! People are clueless!!

Jillian…… Sorry about DH. They can be so annoying! They need to get the clue bag out themselves cause they have no idea what it’s like!!! I would love to see my Dh do what I do for a week. If I wouldn’t miss his paycheck so much I would make him do it. He would just run to the Grandma anyway though!!!!!
I am either loving my DH to death for who he is or ready to ship him out!

Laura…that’s just the kind of thing that sends me reeling!! BTW My Daddy bails me out too!!

Kara…congrats on 00 and Tammie on 1600. I was too tired to play last night but then couldn’t fall asleep.

Breakfast with the Easter bunny was this morning but it felt like we were going to breakfast with Santa with this hideous weather!!

I am a bundle of nerves with Easter and my Mom being in this funk still. I am hopping all calms down on Monday! No test results yet but she is definitely still feeling sick (I can tell).
Oh and DH is bringing home the new truck now which means we have committed to 60 months of car payments. My parents didn’t think we should buy new so I have to worry about that too....oh well what's done is done!

…I could go on but I have to leave the computer and clean and wrap…..
Thanks for listening!

Quick drop in - girls should be home in about twenty minutes. Hope you all are enjoying your saturday.

High-def receiver was a no-go. The installer (who looked 14, BTW) could only detect 4 out of the 5 satellites needed for HD reception - too many trees. Now a supervisor needs to come out and see if there's another place to put the dish. Guy on the phone actually suggested I might have to get a few branches cut off some trees. Now I need to call a tree guy? I don't think so! I'm drawing the line. Called my cable co. to get some prices from them; think I may be ditching the satellite. Anyway, in a nutshell, it will probably be over a week before this project is complete.

Since I was stuck home, waiting for the installer, I was pretty domestic. Was able to prepare some dishes to take to my girlfriend's for Easter dinner tomorrow: made a tuna dip appy; broccoli pie side dish; and some treats for the kiddies - choc.dipped pretzels. Of course some broke during the dipping process and I just couldn't let that good food go to waste! Yum!

Check in with you guys later!

Hiya all

Happy Easter..

We are surrounded in chocolate -yummmmmmm - but why do they have to come in soooooo much packaging!!!! Our recycle center takes the cardboard and foil - but not the tatty plastic stuff which will fill the bin!!!!!

Anyhow, got to go rescue DH from 2 enthusiastic chocolate filled girls!

Tessa

Hi all

Happy "snowy" Easter from GFATP  yes we woke up to snow here this morning so my DD is on a sugar high from eggs and out playing in the snow now

Catch up with you all later

I just checked out the chat rooms and you're right - there is nobody there! .....next time!

I had a look in the chat rooms and there was noone in there but i couldn't get in it wouldn't accept my username etc weird hey

Happy Easter!

My girls are still in bed and I've just finished hiding the eggs. So sad - wondering if this is the last time I'll be doing this for them. They grow up way too fast!

Tessa & Erin - Sounds like you two are in the middle of a chocolate feeding frenzy - has it ended yet? Can't believe you had snow! It should snow for you on Christmas - NOT Easter! Bright and sunny here again today - temps should be around mid-30. No pretty spring outfits or sandals today. I'll think we'll all be wearing our Uggs!

Have a great day everybody - don't eat too much chocolate; bathing suit weather is just around the corner!

Cammie -
are you kidding - the girls have soooo many relatives who buy them chocolate eggs that we will be on a sugar high till summer!!!! Well 3 Big eggs with assorted additions and loads of smaller eggs too.... we said they'd prefer dollars for their holiday [we lied - WE would prefer them to have less chocolate - they would eat it for breakfast!!]- hence the smaller eggs - ALONG with dollars..... hey ho!

Erin - wow you got the snow they were on about - we had about 3 flakes and that was it - I think they melted before they hit the ground - that's the trouble with the West of England - no snow, just rain (remember last summer - glug glug glug) - though we do have bright blue skies, sunshine and NO wind right now.

We are sitting here with very full tummies - full roast beef dinner with Yorkshire pudding -yummmmmmmmmmmm - I think I might have gone back over 200lbs!! But am starting to get the jitters - adrenaline is flowing now as I am soo excited - in 2 weeks time we will be in the air......

Tessa

Yes i had the same idea my DD got eggs and dollars ... by the way thanks for that site, got some tips for my cousin who is coming with us and taking her DD3 and DS2 so needed some plane tips so thanks a lot!! Yes we did have a fair amount of snow but it has melted now :sad2: although we have had more it hasn't settled .. I know i can't believe that in 2 weeks time i'll be there by the pool :yay:

Tessa & Erin - Sounds like you two are in the middle of a chocolate feeding frenzy - has it ended yet? Can't believe you had snow! It should snow for you on Christmas - NOT Easter!

It very rarely snows at Christmas :sad2: my DD has been singing White Easter all day (to the tune of white christmas) crazy kid

Just a quick stop over - first of all, Happy Easter to everyone!!!!!

Yesterday we had the Easter Eggstravaganza here in our subdivision, they had an easter egg hunt, plus an egg toss for daddies and kids, and then an egg relay. DD (who BTW has zero athletic ability!!!) did really well tossing AND catching the egg, until that last toss by daddy.... Needless to say, I need advice on how to get egg yolk out of clothes!!! :rotfl2:

Then we went to the club for dinner with our neighbors. They treated us to dinner and drinks since we've helped them out with some childcare issues. They just moved from CA and don't know anyone, he travels a fair amount, and she just started a job with weird hours for the first few months. So sometimes their DD rides the bus home with my DD (they're in the same class as school), but let me just say, DH and I have fun with the parents but we just do NOT like the child!!!! I think she's a really bad influence on Ally. She's extremely boy crazy at 7 years old!!!! :confused3

Debbie - I agree with your comment about DH - I think there were multiple posts about DHs being nasty. I either totally appreciate him, or wish he'd just hit the road sometimes! He totally makes my life MORE difficult!

In fact I discovered today that if I don't feel good, the house will just have to WAIT apparently!!! So, luckily, we don't have big dinner plans because I will be cleaning house. We have the in-laws in town next weekend for DD's bday, so I need to start cleaning now!

GFATP - Tessa, I saw you had yorkshire pudding! I need a foolproof recipe!!! We have begun making that every year with prime rib for Christmas Eve dinner.

Gotta run now - heading to the driving range with DH and DD (she got new clubs!). Then home for Easter dinner.

Hiya all,

Erin - can just see "I'm dreaming of a white Easter":rotfl2:We never seem to get snow over this side of the country - not fair!!! Mind you our snow seems to consist of great big wet soggy flakes then mucky slush, so maybe best not to have any this time.....

Kara - Yorkshire pudding NEVER has a foolproof recipe - that is part of the joy of cooking it!! Will it/won't it turn out right - dynasties are built on secret recipes... Mine isn't secret, it USUALLY works - if the fat is hot enough....

125g plain flour (4oz - don't know in cups sorry...)
pinch of salt
medium sized egg
300ml milk - or mix 2/3milk+ 1/3water if you prefer the taste.

Mix flour + salt in a bowl, add egg + half the liquid, beat till smooth, add the rest of the liquid.
Now, the fat - we spoon off the fat from the top of the meat juices, but you can use a vegetable/sunflower oil if you have to.. Put a teaspoon of whatever fat in your pudding tins (muffin tins will do about 10 to 12) .

Heat the pans without the pudding mix in the oven for 5 min at 425F/220C/Gas 7 then take them out, QUICKLY add the mixture, put them back QUICKLY on the TOP shelf of the oven for 15-20 min. Heat is the key to high-rise Yorkshires..... do NOT keep checking on them till 15 min is up.

Hope it works for you.....

I've been doing the kids some holiday money envelopes using:

They look soooooo good!

No we don't get a lot normally 1 day a year but then it's normally pretty good .. not so much this time is snowing again but is just too wet .. another day of singing White Easter :rotfl2:

Am getting all our bits ready today to pack :yay: like ears and crowns and tink lights from last time .. although we will definitely be buying more ears .. a girl likes a change  especially my girl

Tessa - Thank you for the recipe!!! I will definitely try it again! Have made it 2 or 3 times, and one time was good, the other time, not so good! Did you have the desginer on the Creative Designs thread personalize your DD's money envelope? I had her do a High School Musical one for my DD. They are great on that thread!

Still working with Dell on getting my new hard drive set up properly. What a pain!

Happy Monday everyone!

Hi everyone.

Sounds like everyone had a good easter. We too are winding down on our sugar high. One more day of spring break for DD. She is so ready to go back to school. (so I am I)

It snowed all day yesterday. I think they said this was the largest continuous snowfall since Thanksgiving. I love the idea of the White Easter Song.

I haver never had Yorkshire pudding but that sounds delicious.

BTW after having the tire fixed on Saturday, I found I have to have the van re-aligned. I must have hit that curb harder than I thought. Ughhhh!

Happy Monday.

I hope you're not driving to Disney! Make sure the kids are buckled up tight! :lmao: If it makes you feel any better, I backed into a semi because "I couldn't see it" when we were down here house hunting last summer. There was no trailer, just the cab, and so when I backed up, I couldn't see the big long part of the truck that apparently the trailer sits on. Yeah, I caught heck for that one! It put a nice hole in my bumper and we're not getting it fixed. The entire bumper needs to be replace all because of a hole about the size of a quarter. Not worth it. Plus, if we leave it damaged, DH can always point at it to remind me of my fabulous driving skills! :drive:

Work has been sooo busy today - this is the first break I've taken since 7:30 this morning! Went to make myself a ham sandwich and DH froze it!!! :confused3 So much for quick leftovers.

Well, better get back to work before DD gets home with her obnoxious friend!

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all enjoyed your Easter! I feel like a stuffed pig today - so that's why I headed out to the gym first thing this morning. Good workout, but now I'm home with all of these hard-boiled eggs and wanting to make a really good, creamy egg salad sandwich for lunch!

Yorshire pudding - YUMMY! Ok, I have a recipe too, that I've been using for years and years but I pour my batter into an 8x8 pan instead of individual muffin cups. Is that very un-British of me? When it's done, we just cut it up based on how much each person wants. Oh man, the thought of this is making me hungry - I may have to put roast beef on the menu for Sunday dinner!

Well, my DirecTV battle has now been temporarily replaced with a battle with olderDD's school - IEP and dr.'s order issues. I swear, I feel I go from one confrontational situation to another. Am I crankier now that I'm in my forties? Or is it that I just refuse to put up with bull**** anymore? I really am a very nice person - when people do the job they're supposed to be doing!!! I hate when Mondays start like this - it's going to be a loooong week! An NO Lost to look forward too!:scared:

I guess I'm off to make egg salad --- later!

Cheer up Cammie - look how much warmer it is today! Seriously, though, I understand where you're coming from. I, too, seem to be much more confrontational the older I get (of course, I'm just now pushing 29! :rotfl2: ). Hope your day improves!

Does your Yorkshire pudding come out that way? I've seen recipes that say you can use a n 8x8 pan but I didn't know if it would come out that way. Hmmm.... May have to try that (unless of course the GFATP say it's not cool!).

I just spent my break cleaning my kitchen. DH is such a good cook but soooo messy! Now that I"m in a foul mood, I'm heading back into the kitchen for a Klondike bar (BOGO at Publix this week!).

It already has - I'm enjoying a delicious egg salad sandwich on WW bread (still trying to be a little healthy)

Actually it does: crispy and puffy along the edges; softer and doughier in the middle. I've never had it any other way, so I really can't compare.

Did you notice we're having one of THOSE days on this thread today? Where everything we post keeps coming back to food! Done with my sandwich now and there's a bowl of Jelly Belly jellybeans calling my name! Ok - so my diet lasted a week?!

popcorn:: :cake: :drinking1 = :yay:

DH just came home from work and we're both eyeing those leftovers from yesterday - ham, broccoli salad, fruit salad, crescent rolls - no dieting today! :goodvibes
