She got all her homework done last night, with many tears thrown in there. The first time it was very messy (she's a lefty so neatness is hard for her) and I made her do it again. But once it was done she understood and felt better about her work.
Poor Allie. That is so hard for them, but poor US, too. It's really nerve wracking. Taylor is a leftie, too!
Pam - big game this week???
We missed the game last night. Megan was sick. She's been sick, fighting a sore throat and congestion, all week, asking to stay home, but we didn't let her - just put otc meds in her. She vomited at band practice yesterday am, so I left work and picked her up and got her squeezed in at the dr. They took a strep test and gave her an antibiotic. Dr is going to talk to an ENT dr and see about the possibility of getting her tonsils removed. That is usually her problem when she is sick. Her tonisils are HUGE! So, we had a family movie night last night - no one was allowed to do anything but watch the movie. We watched Across the Universe. Taylor and I fell asleep. That's usually what happens....I need to find out if we won or not!!
Your cakes were beautiful! I am so jealous of your talent!! Allie looks so cute! Don't you miss that age? They are growing up way too fast!
Your trip is close, LUCKY!!!
that makes sense. I have no, zero motivation to clean the rest of the house. I have stack of 600 kids e-mail addresses I need to add to the school directory. I need to have it done, printed and ready to go by October 4. Needless to say I should get moving on it.
OMG! Good luck! I hope Tim did OK w/his shot, and that it helps! Your cake was fabulous!!
Tammie, if it makes you feel any better, I lay on the couch and read for about 1/2 hr or 40 minutes every day during lunch, and then catch a 15 minute power nap. Does wonders for me!
And I sit around in my bathrobe, smoking and drinking all day -- does wonders for me!
Must be nice! I am totally jealous!
I'm still trying to talk DH into going, LOL not talk into, but find the $$ for - is more like it.
I hope that you all get to go!!! I LOVE the book cover and the top! Tina, you are so talented!!
Sorry for going a little off there - but what do you all think of the eyebrow thing for a 12 yr.old?
I guess if their eyebrows were embarassing to them for some reason. Megan was 14 when she got hers done for the first time. They were too busy and out of control for her liking, and she asked me if she could. I didn't see a problem w/it. Boy, times have changed since we were their age. I never got manicures or pedicures in a salon until I was a young adult of about 18! We did home perms as kids. Taylor has had a perm, probably about a year ago, and she is 10. Megan is 15 and still doesn't wear makeup every day. I am glad. She has beautiful skin. I wore full makeup from about 14yrs, every day. Shaving legs - I think the girls were about 10 and in 5th grade. Taylor just started this summer. I just warned them that they would have to keep up w/it once they started. I didn't have a problem w/it. They were self conscious about the hair, and if it made them feel better...Now, if they say a nose piecing or earlobe gauging (sp?) would make them feel better, that's a different story! I will not allow the ear thing in my house because it is irreversable! I pick my battles as they get older.'
Yeah about Lauren's teachers and feeling comfortable taking her out of school! Did you find a JB transfer you liked?
6. I COOKED the majority of the trip. We ate lunch out twice and dinnner out twice, I COOKED the rest
That is just WRONG.
7. My house is trashed.
Join the club, sister.
Carlos and I had a big fight last night about him feeling like I think he doesn't do anything around the house.
Darrin and I ALWAYS have those discussions. I hate to call them fights, but sometimes they are. I think it's probably reality in at least 90% of marriages, or at least I'd like to think so...I'd like to think we're not alone. I hope that you start to feel better! As for the 4 nights, when the kids are little, I think that's OK. For our first WDW trip, we did something like that, maybe it was even 3 nights, I can't remember! We only did Magic Kingdom!

It was a trip mostly aimed at the kids. I think it was our most enjoyable one! We weren't exhausted from going commando in all of the parks for 6/7 days!
Tessa - I wish I would have had my girls take piano. I bet you are proud!
Jillian - Good luck on getting the job!
Debbie - Your trip is so close! Try not to worry about the weather. Did you ever find your Wildcat design? I'm w/ya on the Facebook thing. I will check out everyone's pages, but I CAN'T get into that. I can't keep up as it is! I like to do too much stuff, and there's just not enough time!! Blasted work! I could fill up my days just fine if I didn't work!
Tammie - Are you still keeping the kiddos during the day? I wish you could throw a spa party for all of us here! I need one badly! Calgon, take me away! Or, should I say Arbonne, take me away?
We are glued to the TV, watching the Ike coverage. We haven't received any rain from it yet, but are expected to this PM, w/about 40-45 MPH winds. We are supposed to go to my mom's for Sept birthdays, but she may decide to postpone until tomorrow or next weekend. She said that we would decide this AM. Those poor people in Galveston and Houston. We have friends in Houston that used to be our neighbors here, and we have lost their cell numbers, only have their home number, and of course they have evacuated. I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like, but I sure know that I wouldn't hesitate leaving if it meant the safety of my family.
Have a great day and weekend all!
