I haven't read all the posts but I feel at home already...We just booked our 10/18-25 trip and I am so excited....my second thought was I better get the kids flu shots!! LOL Anyway, I wanted to say hi and I am going to get to reading....

Rachel:flower3:

Hiya,

Renee - don't worry too much - my littlest had "too much" amniotic fluid too- just meant a bigger puddle when the waters broke for us.... She is happy and healthy and just fine... a bit skinny - thinner than her sister was, but who amongst us wouldn't pay to be that way!!

Hi Rachel~ and welcome.

I had to laugh. Yep, I read the 10/18 date and that is exactly where my head went. Last night, as I was talking to my husband about Jan being cheaper, and out my mouth comes... BUT ITS FLU SEASON! :rotfl2:

Hiya,

Renee - don't worry too much - my littlest had "too much" amniotic fluid too- just meant a bigger puddle when the waters broke for us.... She is happy and healthy and just fine... a bit skinny - thinner than her sister was, but who amongst us wouldn't pay to be that way!!

Tessa, thanks so much for that. I really worry about her. Then again, she is in very good hands. My SIL is a critical ICU nurse at a major hospital. She is actually a crash nurse too, so I don't know why I worry. She is just so baby "dumb" it is funny. Nice to hear though that you had the same problem and all was okay. I've read about the big gush in those instances. You know where it will happen? They just bought a new king bed. :rolleyes1 I told them to get a waterproof matress pad, but have they... yes.... is it on the bed, no. :rolleyes1

Okay, so get this. DM just called. She has been worried sick the past two weeks that something is wrong. I generally call her every morning, if not, I get a "Well, I haven't heard from you today" in a sarcastic tone. SO, I figure, if I have time, I'll call. If not, I won't. I live 0.9 miles from her. She never comes here. Works from home... I'm stopping now.

So I say, "the phone works two ways, I've been busy, if I have time to call I do, if I don't I figure you can pick up the phone just as easy as I can." Then it is the "poor me" bit she does about how she has been worried sick that something is wrong and that my step dad was going to come by here to see if he could "mend" the issue. WTH? I just haven't called every day, and we're jumping off a bridge. She knows I"m busy. At least I tell her - not that I think she listens to what I say! :rolleyes1

I wish I had the guts to tell her it ticks me off that she can't come by to say hi even - not even to help out, just to say hi for 5 mintues. Every time I need help she's busy (and my help is never for more than 1 hour). I just get mad and keep it to myself. She will pout for years if I say anything, so I've just learnt to blow it off.

Enough ranting, thanks for listening.

Always here to listen!!!

I don't know what I'd do in that situation. I really don't. Instead I had my inlaws bugging me constantly to take Ally when she was a baby. But I didn't trust them with her. And it drove me nuts.

Get this, they love to tell a story about how when Jeff was a baby (2 yrs old), they lived in CO and managed an apartment complex. His mom was out cleaning the pool with Jeff, and wasn't paying attention...:rolleyes1 - know where this is going? Yeah, Jeff fell in the deep end, straight to the bottom, and it took some kid on a balcony to yell at her and tell her what happened. I would be so embarassed to tell that story, yet I hear it all the time. There are so many more like that, and they wonder why I don't trust them with Ally!

Oh, and did I mention she's riding back with them on Sunday to spend the week with them??? :scared1:

I hope that our economy gets better soon! Even tho gas is going down a bit, it’s till killing us w/our 2 large vehicles and our long commutes. We are going to be buying a 3rd family car soon, for Megan to learn to drive in, and I am thinking I may drive it to/from work while she is learning! She can’t drive w/out us for a long while anyway! I just like being up high on the road and don’t look forward to not being able to see! We’ll see…

Renee – Try not to worry too much about the baby. I know it’s easy to say, hard to do. These kids! We worry about them from the time we are pregnant on. My MIL laughed at me yesterday because I told her my kids have to call me as soon as they get in from vacation bible school, even tho she was meeting them at home to take them to lunch. I keep close tabs on them! So I guess the worry never stops...OK – MEN! KIDS! MOMS! SILS! What’s wrong w/these people??! My mom does the guilty thing too. I must call her every day, or something is wrong and she worries. I will probably do the same thing to my girls when older, although I hope not!

Welcome, Rachel! You are in the right place! We’re a friendly bunch!:flower3:

Went to the Container Store at lunch to pick up some cute containers for thank you gifts for people that have been giving my kids rides during the day. I had to put my blinders on. I love that store!!

Tonight is GNO w/some of my neighbor friends, for ritas and Mexican food, and I am not the designated driver!!!:woohoo:

Tomorrow is Friday!!!:cool1:

That' my plan for next weekend. We are heading to dinner and then to Mama Mia. We saw it on stage but have been patiently waiting for the movie

Off to the YMCA. I hate excercising. I found all of those inches I "misplaced" before our trip to WDW.

Thanks for the words. I just need to not care, but I do and that is my problem, I know. At the core is I know how much I love my kids and that their is no way I'd ever leave them and I think I get a little bit too focused on how she could do that and wanting a normal mom/daughter thing sometimes. I just keep saying in my head, "the only thing that you can change about others is the way you choose to let them affect you." :rolleyes1 Maybe one day that will stick with me.

And for Ally and the ILaws. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
Does Ally have a cell phone.
And are you sure your MIL has that story right? You sure it wasn't a different kiddo at the bottom of the pool :rolleyes1 :lmao: :rotfl2: Seriously though, I COMPLETELY get 100% where you are coming from on that one.

My MIL would love to keep the kids. She has had a massive stroke. DSIL told me she was a complete B***h before her stroke, but now she is sweet, but very affected. She uses a wheel chair but mentally, things just don't fire completely. SO I agree to leave them with her, DH, DFIL, DBIL, DSIL for an hour to go run an errand. I come back TO FIND MY SON IN THE STREET WITH THE DOG - no adults to be found. Go in the house - they are all in the back yard ALL 5 adults sitting at the picnic table:headache:  Needless to say, that nixed that, really fast.

Cammie - I'm thinking of Amanda and hoping she is feeling better and getting some rest today after her bad night.

Pam - have a great time! That sounds so wonderful!

Anyone have a good MudSlide recipe - the one made with ice cream????

OK, you win!!!! :scared1:

No, Ally does not have a cell phone and will not have one for a long time. She's been asking lately though. But with all the stories about about cell phone use and cancer, plus the fact that she's only 7 (despite kids in her class having them), I just can't justify it! Kids today are so incredibly spoiled (Ally included!!!) but that's one thing I'm holding firm on - at least for now.

I meant it as more of a joke than anything. Seriously though, I'm sure she will be fine. I agree. Nicolas can't enjoy what he has for focusing on what he doesn't. Spoiled little kid.

I'm making Pasta a la Cammie tonight. :lmao: I cut up my chicken already - I cheated and used the Mojo one from Publix. UMMMM. I'm going to make a summer squash casserole to go with it. I think this will be good!

and a mudslide? What time!????:cool1:

I want to see the movie so badly! I haven't seen the stage production, but love ABBA, Meryl Streep and Colin Firth! Let us know how it is! I tried to talk Darrin into it on a date night last weekend, but he said NO WAY! Too much of a chick flick for him.

I hate the exercising, too. I have to force myself to go. Darrin and I make each other go. So far, it's working most of the time, but some nights we both agree not to go. 3 times a week is all I can force it.

Renee - let me know if Mama Mia would be okay for Ally. I think she'd love a movie like that (but I did notice either PG or PG-13 so not sure...). She loves musicals, at least of the High School variety.... :rotfl2:

Oh, Big Brother is on tonight - need to go check my BB thread...

What is with me and ... today???

I have spoiled kids too :sad2: , and they have cell phones, used mostly for texting friends (can't believe how young they learn that) and so I can stay in constant contact w/them. With working full time, I don't want to not be able to reach them or they not be able to reach me. (Sounding like my mom?! ) So far, the phones haven't been abused. We have very little minutes, and Megan knows that. She has to ask if a friend has AT&T before she can just chat. Now Taylor, she forgets hers at home most of the time, although she just HAD to have one for her birthday. I am working on that w/her...

:rotfl2: See, I'm rubbing off on you. I think it was LAURA who mentioned the movie. :lmao: See why I'm sticking with Renee - you're already getting me & Laura confused!:lmao:

Well spank me silly and call me Renee! :rotfl2: Next thing you know I'm gonna be eating with Spongebob in Iceland in the World showcase!!!

Well aren't you girls all VERY chatty! It's so hard to keep up!
I had Elizabeth's last day of Camp today...show included.... then we went to lunch. NOW it is pouring! They have been promising us storms for awhile now but they never show up. They're here now! WOW!
We went to the neighborhood pool yesterday after camp.
My kids are VERY lucky I love fun in the sun. I feel so guilty keeping them cooped inside when it is nice out.

I am VERY sad that August is here but thankful that at least Elizabeth is home until September 2nd (after Labor Day) and then 2 weeks later we are off to WDW! The bad thing is I am not really a fan of Fall.... mainly for anxiety reasons and now I feel like it will be a never ending Fall without the regular October WDW trip to break it up.

Kara! I LOVE Big Brother! I also LOVE "DO you Think You can Dance"! Love the Mole too...I am a reality TV junkie!

Renee I hope all stays OK with the little one. I am sure everything is fine.
As for the Mom thing....I tell myself ALL THE TIME to just let stuff roll off but for some reason when it's your Mom it just STICKS like crazy glue! I can't stand when she is upset with me even if I am 100% right! It drives me insane! It's like I am 8 and still need that approval. We get along REALLY well and this still is my Achilles heel with her. Crazy, huh. I'm 41 for God's sake!

Pam...I see where you are coming from with the cell phone. I also try so hard not to spoil the kids but I feel that they are spoiled!

Hi Laura and Tessa! You too Tammie....slow down girlfriend. Take a breather!

Cammie...Hope Amanda is doing better!

I haven't read all the posts but I feel at home already...We just booked our 10/18-25 trip and I am so excited....my second thought was I better get the kids flu shots!! LOL Anyway, I wanted to say hi and I am going to get to reading....

Rachel:flower3:

Welcome! Jump in and ask away!

BTW Kara that Jeff MIL story is terrible and should be like the unspoken story! How terrible!

Hi to Becky, Tina and Jillian too!
