I aim to please. ;)

I just cannot get my sorry butt out of bed today! I was up and showered this morning, but since noon I've been literally working from bed. I just want to curl up and sleep but I need to entertain tonight! I think we're going up to the clubhouse for dinner so Jeff can provide the entertainment, you know clogging, maybe a little after dinner juggling :rotfl: , while I go to bed early. I just want to feel better tomorrow!

OH MY LORD- IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!!!

IT'S HAILING!!!!! GIANT PIECES OF HAIL!!!!:scared1:

What you didn't like that storm oh come on now hail the size of marbles and skies as dark as the night :rotfl2: It scared the heck out of me. I thought the cats were funny with hair standing on all ends.

Quick check in - I just slept for 2 1/2 hrs!!!!! I think I broke my fever though - I woke up sweating, all yuck! Sore throat is a bit better. Hopefully just a quick summer cold and I've kicked it. Now I have lots to do to catch up at work since I'm off tomorrow!

Oh My feel better. I have been napping like it is going out of style. Please feel better.

Erin- I have to say I agree with almost everything Kara said. I am not a fan of POP but I did like ASMu. We are MOD people. We love POFQ it is compact and the food court is good. It comes with the fridge and the rooms are a tad larger which is good because we still have the crib in the room. We spend a few days park free so we like the features of a MOD.

Oh man - have you opened a can of worms now! If you want, Kara and I can go on and on about how awesome we think the BW is! And I'm sure Debbie will chime in on how great she thinks the GF is.

But seriously, you need to figure out where you think you'll be spending most of your time and what features are most important. I do think the mods. offer a good variety. I'm sure the value resorts are nice, but they tend to be the most crowded - therefore the pool will always be crowded and you may have long waits for the bus. If that won't bother you, then save your money and stay at a value. No one resort is going to be 100% perfect for everything. I love the BW - can walk to Epcot and MGM; bus rides to MK and AK aren't too long; and I love the nighttime activity on the BW when you get back from the park. Resorts like GF, Poly, CR, or WL put you very close to MK; but, IMO, to get to any other park is a pain! The only mod. I ever stayed at was the CBR - and that was 18 years ago! I remember it being very nice and the buses weren't that bad. Personally, I don't mind being on a bus for 20-30 minutes to get to a park - as long as I have a seat. I can't be bothered with driving my own car and dealing with parking.

Is there anything else you want some thoughts on? I'm not shy with my opinions!

Erin - as for the resorts: Now you've gone and done it and here I goooooo!

Value - I've only stayed at POP Century but we love it! Been there twice and will stay again on any long trips. We just spend all our time at the parks so it works for us. The rooms are small, but when you're pooped from 14 hrs in the park its no problem. The theming is fun and colorful. We've never had a problem with buses here as this is one of the few resorts that only has ONE stop - only one busstop within the resort and no other resorts on the same bus line.

Moderate - I've stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and Coronado Springs. Ally and I are staying at Coronado again in November and I'm really excited! We don't usually do mods cause for us, it's a waste of money because like I said before, we spend all our time in the parks. But the mods have more theming, nicer pools, which includes a water slide, and just a little bit larger rooms. POR was very nice to wander throough, but we only do mods for short trips where the extra $100 per night doesn't add up as much.

Deluxe. - I honeymooned at Boardwalk Inn and love love love it!!! We love that we can walk to Epcot and walk or boatride to the Studios. Then MK or AK is by bus. It's a beautiful deluxe resort and I think what you're paying for in a deluxe is location location location!!! They do have more theming than the mods, nicer pools, but only deluxe resorts are going to be on the monorail or walking distance to any of the parks. Jeff and I are staying at Yacht Club in September which is right across from the Boardwalk so it's in the same general location. I'm VERY excited to stay here!

For the money, I'm very comfortable in the value resorts. But if you spend a lot of time in the room or at the resort, I'd go moderate. And if you just want to splurge and really enjoy the resort, go deluxe (but it is a BIG splurge in my opinion - for 7 days you're looking at around $1500 more just for the resort!). You've got a lot of time to explore your options though.

You girls are totally fab .. that's just what i needed as now i can look at all of those .. we are only gonna be there 4 nights then off to a villa for the rest of the time ... we'll have a hire car aswell .. most of our time will be in the parks for sure so maybe a moderate will suit all needs hahaha
Thanks again

Ok - so since it's only for a few days - I say try to swing a stay at a deluxe! When else would you do it again?; it will put you really close to the parks and it would just be a nice experience. Hopefully, you can get a code for a really good discount, but I say go for it at least once!:woohoo:

I know thats what i was thinking .. but there will be 7 of us and then off to a villa too ... We were looking at Animal Kingdom lodge, my folks will be paying for all of the 7 of us so thats quite a lot however if we got a great code it would be well worth it .. i need to research how to get those!!!

Thanks again :thumbsup2

Have you thought about renting pts. for a DVC? You could get a 2 Bdrm. villa - w/ full kitchen and washer/dryer. I have no idea what the prices are per pt. to rent - think Kara may has looked into it. But the DVC resorts are: AKL, BWV; BCV; VWL; SSR and OKW. OKW is the only one that's not real close to a park (well, SSR is close to DTD) - but, I think, it's by far the roomiest. It may be the cheapest to rent also.

Not sure how to go about doing something like that but will have a good look around to get the best deal for sure
Thanks:thumbsup2

Go over to the DVC boards - there's a thread there about renting pts. You just have to make sure the person you rent from is trust-worthy; look for someone with alot of posts. Now that I'm thinking more about it, I believe Keahi (ahibird) has rented before - think it has worked out really well for her.

Ooh great, thanks i will look

KEAHI if you see this message at all any advice would be welcome

Cammie - I'm watching that baby swap show you & Erin were talking about! HOW FUNNY! :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I got my Disney Cart. & the Cricut today. Nicolas and I have been playing with it. I've made him all the characters and cut out cute Mickey Ears with each letter of his name. He's into learning how to spell his name, so we mix them up and he then figures out how they are arranged - too fun and too cute. LOVE IT!

Seriously, if any of you guys ever need any of the stuff - let me know. (Kara - I have Chip & Dale). You can look up all the ones. I got Mickey and Friends and the Mickey Font.

Renee glad to hear the cleaning is going well. I need to get movtivated and do a complete dump of the house. Tim is apack rat and has tons of stuff that can go. My goal is for this fall.

Cammie--that's scary when the power goes out. How often is she on the ventilator? Hope you and Jillian weathered the storm okay.

Kara get better. We need another installment of the Days of Our Lives in FL. ;)

Erin- I have only stayed in Values. AS and POP. I enjoyed them. They are a basic room no real perks in the room. I would compare it to a Holiday Inn but a bit smaller. If I had more $$ I would join the BW or GF crowd. I can so see the value of being closer to the parks. The buses weren't bad when we were there in May. I guess that is the other thing to consider when will you be there in 2010. Is it a busy season? This makes me start thinking more about our return trip when Katherine is 5. I need to start planning. hahah

Fly by girls...I was busy all day getting my act together. I have been in laundry up to my eyeballs and DD is doing the two wheeler thing now so she wants to be on the bike 24/7. She is doing fine and barely talks about the Swan my trooper of a girl!
I think I can check in before I leave tomorrow. I will try!
Happy 4th if I don't! Be safe and have fun!
Glad you survived the storm Cammie! That's why we didn't head up north today. Then we only got the mild end of things.

Hope you feel better everyone! I hate being sick and feel for ya!

Thank Goodness for all of you I don't have time to go on and on about GF for Erin!

We're going probably the 30th january and staying onsite till the 3rd february then go to a villa for the rest of the time ... Chloe's b'day is the 2nd feb so we're staying in the hotel as a b'day surprise otherwise we'd just do villa so i think in the hotel's this is considered value season so hopefully not the busiest time .. we'll have a car anyway so buses aren't a prob, as if they're busy etc we'll take car

Thanks again for all the help :thumbsup2

Erin - yes, I believe that Keahi has rented points before - we've looked into it but we haven't done it yet. It looks to be a great deal though - it came out to like $150-200/night for a studio or 1 bedroom, which at a deluxe resort is the bomb diggity!

Laura - okay, brief entry of my Florida Life Report (FLR) - there is a wild monkey loose in our subdivision - it's all over the news! Now they think there may be a whole colony of them! They are the macaque monkey - don't know what it is, but they say to beware cause they have "canine teeth capable of causing a very painful bite!" Debbie, keep your Elizabeth away from here!!!!
She's had enough wild animal bites to last a lifetime!

Renee - Here's where I stand on your scrapbooking stuff - I don't even know what it is you're talking about!!!! Seriously. Not a clue. What is a cricut? What does a cartridge do? My scrapbooking is totally self taught and it involves the prepackaged stickers or 3D embellishments, plus cutting out frames. I'm not very good at it.

I sent the visitors to the beach with Ally - I'm going to bed, still not feeling well. But they're leaving Saturday morning so maybe I'll be up for some DP on Saturday!!!

Hi Girls. I'm in a FOUL mood today - due mostly in part to my ex! He took Lauren to NYC Wed. for a Yankee game; coming home today. Yet, I have NO IDEA what time he's bringing her back. I had been trying all morning to reach him. He finally answers his cell and when I asked him what time he would be home, he asks, "Why?". Umm, because she's my daughter and I would like to know what the game plan is for the rest of the day. I've got my girlfriend wanting us to go into Boston tonite to watch The Pops rehearse their show for tomorrow, but I can't commit because Mr. "It's All About Me" doesn't know when they're coming home! Once again, I sit here like a pathetic idiot - held hostage to his schedule. And he's truly annoyed at ME for even questioning when they'll be home!:furious:

On top of that, this trip was supposed to be father/daughter bonding time but he tells Lauren on tues. that wifey is coming - but will be visiting a friend who just had a baby, not coming to the game. Well, I just talked to Lauren and the wife still came out to dinner with them AND stayed at the hotel with them. So the only alone time they had together was at the baseball game! :furious: Geez - can these two NOT spend any time away from one another? Lauren's annoyed and just wants to come home. I swear - those two are such LOSERS! And I know he gets annoyed at me when I question him about things because he's married to this twit now who thinks he walks on water and lets him do whatever he wants!!!

I'm really hating him right now - and myself for letting him get to me this way!

Oh Cammie, I'm so sorry that the ex has you feeling this way! I think you're right for feeling this way so don't beat yourself up over it. You're very supportive of him and the girls having a good father/daughter relationship, yet it sounds like he takes advantage of it - and it sounds like the little woman is jealous of his relationship with his kids which is why she wants to tag along.

I'm about to kick my houseguests OUT!!! They have absolutely no control of their boys, ages 3 and 6 (almost 7). The kids tell them "no" all the time, and mean it! "Time to get ready for bed." "NO." And then back to playing. "You need to eat your dinner." "NO." And up from the table and gone. Then wanting (and getting!) a snack an hour later!

The 3 yr old spilled orange juice all over the family room carpet today - shouldn't even have had it in here! I already told you about their pool bag bleeding all over the carpet - stain is still there. Today they packed lunches for the beach. No problem. But their kids won't eat sandwiches so they just took ALL the lunch meat so they could eat it plain. So what the hell am I supposed to eat for lunch? And I'm home sick!

I think it's rude to bring a 15 year old dog to someone else's house and expect that person to watch the dog to make sure it doesn't mess all over the house! I think it's rude to expect the host to plan your daily adventures, I think it's rude to let your kids run wild and then wonder why stuff gets broken, I think it's rude to complain about ANYTHING in the hosts house, like the hosts dog, when you have brought all kinds of destruction with you!!!!!! They complain about St augustine - "that was a waste - we're not history buffs" - after we talked it up as one of our favorite cities. How rude! Keep your comments to yourself when you know that we love it there! The complain because northern FL beaches are rocky on the Atlantic. Why don't we know where to go? Well, because we've only been here 8 months - we don't go to the beach every weekend! WTH???? Saturday morning can't come soon enough! And tomorrow I've planned out the whole day at the pool, dinner around 6ish and then fireworks. If they don't like it - TOUGH!!!!! My house, my plans. A little harsh? Yeah, probably, but too bad!!!

OK, rant over......

Oh, and my company changed over our phone system so now the phone is routed to our home phones. No problem. It started today, I'm on vacay, but wanting to sleep off this cold, and the phone will NOT stop ringing. And becaue it's a new system, nobody knows how to shut it off from ringing in to an extension. So no rest for me today. Which means I'll be in bed early tonight. Which will bring more sighs from my friend. Poor thing....wah wah wah!
