Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too (Part 2)

Tina - I hate that DD is going to have those boys in her class again! You'd think the school would have separated them?

Keahi - I kinda like the breaks that schools have over there. Sometimes the summer break seems to go on forever here, and kids lose their focus for school. And having 2 weeks in the fall and 2 weeks in the spring would be great!

Tessa - if I ever found a snake anywhere in my house, I'd be outta here. I'd be calling an exterminator and I'd be staying in the Omni hotel downtown. OK, maybe not the Omni, but I'd be staying somewhere nice until it was gone! I was surprisingly calm when I saw Mr NoShoulders yesterday. I think I could've killed it. But because it didn't really scare me, I thought, why bother? They eat mice and bugs and generally avoid yards with dogs, so I don't think we'll see too many in our yard. Now if he was moving in, like if I saw a snake U-Haul, I'd think differently! :rotfl2:

Just cleaned out my fridge. It was surprisingly clean, except for old leftovers that needed tossed out. But I wiped it down pretty quick, so that was good. We usually have so much junk in the fridge that I never get a chance to wipe it down, but I've been trying to use up what's in there, so it's pretty bare right now. And my pantry is lookin good! I'm so glad Debbie suggested that pantry challenge. I love it, and it's forced me to really use my imagination for dinner!

Our ice maker isn't working in the fridge. Aarrgghh! It's only 8 months old, too! And Jeff hasn't called anyone yet. It's under warranty so I don't know why he keeps trying to fix it? :confused3 But I refuse to handle that. I've got so many contractors calling me all day. Our builder is trying to get some stuff taken care of for us before our 1 year is up - so I've got tile people calling to come fix the cracks in the grout, screen people calling because our window screens don't fit very tight (so bugs get in), stucco people calling to fix the little cracks in the stucco, a/c people calling because our bedroom is not cooling down, plus the contractors for the outdoor kitchen, and pavers and screen. It's crazy! I can't keep up with who's scheduled to come when. I just tell them all that I'm home between 8-11 and 1-5 each day. Then I can take my lunch anytime in between.

Hi Guys!
Rough morning...had to take Elizabeth for her shots (kindergarten). Wow! 4 of them and she was so scared! I am glad it is over that's for sure.

I think the washer may be broke. When it rains it pours! I swear!

Tessa...snake in the bed OMG I would die! Thanks for your thoughts in the email!

Kara....oh how we deal with different things in our lives yet also things the same.

Welcome Whip! When I address you I will always think Dole Whip of course!
I don't think anyone has gone at that time of year here at our little thread but we will still be here for ya!

Wookie...sounds like a good plan! It will all work out!

Tammie...I keep forgetting you are leaving! I can't believe it! I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back. I think I might have finally solved my skin problem! The deep pore mask that was in my travel pack of the RE stuff. I think it has worked but I want to try it a couple months in a row to confirm.

Tina that stinks about the boys and they absolutely should have been broken up!

The thing here by me is I find it next to impossible to switch kids into a different class. Where I used to teach it wasn't ever allowed.
Our class sizes will be too big for my liking because I am in CPS (Chicago School System). I bet her kinder has at least 25 and I think that stinks!
I still don't know who she will have next year either and am not sure when I will know.

Look out guys becasue I will be majorily stressing in the Fall!!!

Ya know, Debbie - it wasn't so long ago that Ally started kindergarten. I actually took the day off work cause I thought I'd be a basket case. But I watched her walk in there, full of confidence, the teacher took her and I was history. I was just so proud of her that I didn't even get upset. The only day I cried was on her LAST day of kindergarten!!! Go figure!

I just hate how life flies by!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are we all watching these days. I think I might have to watch that Wipe-out tonight because I might laugh my butt off.
I watch.........
The Mole
The Bachelorette
Do You Think You Can Dance
Last Comic Standing

I love reality TV...
Can't wait for Big Brother!

Oh and my Mom has me hooked on Army Wives now

The Mole comes on too late - it's all on Tivo though! :thumbsup2
Last Comic Standing
Criminal Minds (only in the summer cause something else is on during the season!)
Swingtown (guilty pleasure!)

I can't wait for Big Brother either - love it!!!!!! Last season was the only one I didn't watch - I just couldn't get into the group they had on there.

I hate summer TV!

I love reality tv also - Im mostly surprised (appalled might be a better word) that I find "my life on the D list" hilarious - I cant wait for the new "Project Runway" in July - thats good TV. We will be on Vacation (cheepie to the cape) when it starts though - Ill have to make sure and set the DVR.

UM - SNAKES! Yikes! I found a tiny (about 8" long) dead one in our yard once - it still creeps me out I cant imagine seeing a 4' long (LIVE one) black snake in my yard - crazy! I guess there are some small advantages to living in a cool climate.

My daughter is trouble maker in her class (2-3rd)- although I think she has finally turned it around - Just in time for summer vacation - when she will once again, loose all of her self control. I work from home all summer so my two run around the house like hooligans all day until I can devote time to them.

It is my GUILTY pleasure! Love the crap TV!

:rotfl2: Sounds like my house!

Kara....I actually "back away from the TV" a bit in the summer so the lack of good programing helps in that respect....

Yeah, we spend more time outside, used to be walks, now it's golf cart rides, we're so lazy! :rotfl2:

But we went out and played 4 holes (snuck on the course back by our house!), and it felt really good! Even Ally brought her clubs. My little Tigress!

I promised her that we'd go to the driving range tonight, but she did not pick up the stuff I asked her to before she left for camp today, so I have to lay down the law and be the mean mommy tonight. Oh, well.... One of these days she'll learn that mine aren't idle threats!

:wave2: Hi everyone.

Just a quick hello. I'm so wiped out. They changed my meds, did another xray and said my sinus cavity looks 95% better, but still bad enough to need one more round of antibiotics. This is the 4TH one in a row for crying out loud! So here I go on a sulfer one :headache: I hung with the clindomycine for the full 10 days, so I had hoped that would be that. We switched back to Musinex D too. I got strict instructions to come back asap if anything kicks back up - but I just have to call in for a report in 3 weeks and hopefully they will call this case "better".

Side effect is my body is REALLY tired. DH got the good ole snip snip Friday and is crying to me about it. I hate to say it, but after 2 kids and a C-Section, all I want to do is tell him to get over it! ::yes::

I'll catch up when I can. Mia is napping, Nicolas is watching TV and I think that sofa looks mighty good to me right now!

Renee - so glad to hear from you! Go hit that sofa! And toss your DH an icepack! :rotfl2:

Kara - the going joke around here is stir fry. I had no frozen peas, so he's used frozen rice and a bag of mixed veggies. :rotfl2: :lmao:

Nap didn't happen. Blasted phone!

But guess what - guess who got ticked at all the stupid whining and went out and came home with TWO DVRs :cool1: So officially move us over to the more updated category. I LOVE it!!! Now, I just need you guys to help me know what to watch. Seriously, I don't think I've watched TV since 2004! :scared1:

I know:
Hell's Kitchen
Biggest Loser
Survivor
House
????? what else, oh CSI Miami, although I've heard that one got canned?

Kara - pictures of the books are coming. Haven't felt like it, but I will do that soon.

Tammie - took the book to the dr with me and browsed it. Didn't want you to think I was ignoring you, just trying to find the time. :)

Jillian - I checked the status on the package. It just shows me the intake date/time here. I'm thinking I would expect it probably Fri or Sat off what she told me.

HELLLLLP!
Does anyone remember if you can get the little plastic figurines of Stitch at WDW near the stitch ride? DS is determined that is what he is asking Santa for! :scared1: They aren't on the Disney website anymore.

Renee, just remind me and I'll be glad to check on Stitch in September!

Yahoo on the DVRs - I didn't hear about CSI Miami - I thought it was CSI New York?

You'll watch more TV now that you have it - at least I used to. I would watch everything I had tivo'd while I was working out on the elliptical. It helped to keep me on it for about 30 minutes. That was when we used our bonus room for a family room and had the big screen TV up there. Now the TV is in the family room and the elliptical is covered with clothes in our bedroom. Typical.

Go rest now!

Hi Renee...I feel so bad for you with all you are going though with your sinuses. What a pain!! Hope your DH feels better to but I hear ya!!!!

Glad you are back.
Rest!!!
Hi Kara! Glad you had a fun afternoon.

well, it cant get worse. LOL sprained wrist, bee sting, sinus infection and pink eye only 4 days to go

Oh gosh we're all going through it again.... newbies probably don't know "the curse of this thread..." - everyone goes through the back/nasal/ill kid/sad kids/ ill dog/ill mum etc at the same time... even on opposite sides of the ocean....

DD5 now has tonsillitis - don't know if that is what you call it over there????? Tonsils swollen to fill the back of her throat nearly, white spots all over them, temperature peaking at 41 deg.... :sick:Doctors today - actually managed to get an appointment after going through nurse triage on the phone... used to just ring and they'd say doc can see you at x o'clock or next day, whatever. Now there's 10 layers and doc can still see you at x o'clock - progress eh?

Lots of tlc needed anyhow... at least I work at the same school at lunchtimes so they just let me stay home with her, no problems. Of course she is worried as it is her school trip to the seaside next week and her birthday the week after, and her friends birthday that week too , and, and, and,...... she actually croaked that she wanted to go to school today!!!!

It just seems to be one thing after another at the moment ... I think it's those post Florida blues.. now it's raining too -so I have to drag a sick child to the bus stop and wait for the bus in the rain to get to the doctors... might wear the Busch Gardens ponchos to inject some light into the proceedings..... they are definitely very yellow!!

Oh, and TV shows - the greatest UK export Hugh Laurie - so HOUSE!!! ::yes::::yes::::yes::mm and always had a soft spot for James Woods - so Shark comes second... not keen on reality TV though, or TV soaps - last time I watched a US soap it was Bobby coming out of the shower in Dallas - thought it was a big cheat so stopped watching them....

I need to shut up and go take an ill child to the doc.. in the rain.... on the bus....in bright yellow ponchos:goodvibes...

Tessa

Oh, Tessa and babyb! I'm so sorry to hear that! A broken wrist, bee sting, sinus infection and pink eye BEFORE Disney? Say it ain't so!

And a baby with tonsilitis! Hey! I just looked at a satelite photo and I think I saw y'all - the yellow ponchos really are bright! :rotfl2:

Hope everyone feels better soon!

They started digging out our backyard and it's a big mud pit right now. Today they come and spray for termites and then the building inspector comes, then they lay the concrete for the footers. Then hopefully tomorrow and Friday they will lay the pavers. But we won't have a screen anymore until after they build the whole outdoor kitchen setup. That will be about a month! And after what happened last night, I'm not sure I can take that. I'll fill you in later, must take Ally to camp and run and get some allergy medicine!

Later!

Hiya all,

Kara - those ponchos certainly lifted a few people's spirits, they must have thought we were mad!!!!! DD5 has now got medicine and a couple of days off school - already it is "I'm bored." ..... Mind you, I do deliberately make days off school boring so they don't get ideas... (horrid mother I know.....)

Off to entertain...

Tessa

I love that idea of making non school days boring. What a way to make them more interested in school. :)

Beth has been saying the same thing. Mind you have schedule playdates for every day and swimming. I swear I am more of a social director than a mom some times.

I hate to hear that the yuckies are going around again. We are all doing well. Keeping my fingers crossed. We are headed to my parents lake place the weekend while the boys (Tim, my dad, my grandpa, 2 aunts, uncle and brother in law) head to Canada to go fishing in the lake of the woods. Imagine the US, see that little bump into Canada, that's where they will be for the next week. I hoping this nice weather continues so we can be in the boat all weekend. Nothing like anchoring off the island and floating all day in the lake.

Welcome to the newcomers.!!
