Hi everybody! Tim's still in. we are waiting for the corrset he will wear to support his back. I'm sorry when I think of a corrset onlym come up with Scarlet O'hara. I laughed so hard

I will catch up sooon. Cammie glad to see you got into the dentist. Feel Better soon.

Tammie have a great trip!

Hi Girls ... How are you all?

I know i've been gone ages although a few of you ladies found me on facebook :)
I have just been sooooo busy its just crazy ... I am going back to college next week to do a business course as my friend and i are starting our own painting and decorating business ... we've been doing it for free to fam and friends for just tooooo long now ;)

As you can see i have a new ticker yayayayay although i have just found out that the Harry Potter area in IOA may not be open in time, which the kids will be devastated about so i'm really hoping it works in my favour hahahaha!! Anyway we're not staying in hotel after all (but thanks all for your great advice) as there are now 12 of us going .. i know we don't do it small hey hahahaha!!!

Anyway i am back properly and have missed you all ... haven't read back on anything so forgive me xxxx

Yea Erin!!! Good for you for starting your own biz!! And double yea for the WDW trip planned! I really hope Harry Potter is open for you by then. I know I"m really excited for that too! I am just now about 1/2 way through the last book and I'm soooo bummed! I don't want it to end!

Thanks so much, Tammie & Kara!!! Sometimes it just helps soooo much to hear someone else tell you how it can all work out. :flower3:

About the EMH debate, I've already decided that we will NOT be going to the parks with them. There are a couple of reasons for this... My kids are going to be overwhelmed no matter what on our first trip and I think hopping to another park will be just too much right now. Also, because of the extra cost of the parkhopper ticket, we went with the base ticket. I can't see hopping enough to make it worth it, not with the kids this age. And since we won't be hopping, I don't want to be in the park where everyone else is taking advantage of the EMH. I also don't think my kids (or me or DH) are going to be able to either get up early enough for EMH or stay up late enough for them. Maybe on our next trip, but not this time around. So I've planned which parks to go to on which days according to which ones do NOT have EMH.

Oh, we are going Nov. 5- 13th, so you think the crowds should be managable? It is "Jersey week" and over Veteran's day, though.

And we will have a car, so should we drive to the parks each day rather than take the buses? I hear the buses can be slow and round about. If we drive we can just head back to the hotel or off to our ADR if it is out of the park.

Here are the places I have booked ADRs for our stay...
Hoopty Do Revue (on the day we'll be in MK)
Crystal Palace character dinner (another day in MK)
Akershus (Norway) Princess dinner (our 1st day in EC)
San Angel Inn (wasn't 1st choice, but Le Cellier was booked, 2nd day in EC)
Planet Hollywood (last day, unplanned as far as parks go)
Sci-Fi Drive-in (MGM day)
Whispering Canyon Cafe (AK day)

I'm a little worried about how long it will take to get to Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge from MK and AK. How much time should we allow to make it in time for our ADR?

Thanks again for all your great advice!!!

Very smart to go with the base ticket and even smarter to NOT plan EMHs with that! See? You don't need us, you've got it goin on!!! I love your ADRs too! Hoop Dee Doo Review is a blast - you'll love it! I recommend taking a boat from MK to Fort Wilderness - that will put you right by the show I think. Can't remember and we just did this in May! And take bus from AK to Whispering Canyon - funny, we did the same thing!!!

Did you copy my itinerary from my May trip? :rotfl2:

Le Cellier books up so quick, and I know why - yes, it's delish, but also a very small restaurant. But we ate at San Angel Inn several years ago and if you go in NOT expecting tex-mex, you'll enjoy it. It's more authentic Mexican food, a lot of fish. Don't expect Americanized mexican food and you'll enjoy it.

Akershus is okay food wise, but the character interaction is excellent.

Those are the only ones I can comment on. But it sounds like you've got a great plan! I'm going to be in Disney the day after you leave! I've heard it's slow, but not sure with Jersey week and veterans day.....

Got a good one for ya - how do you explain "freedom" to a 7 year old? Part of her homework is to research the word freedom and then tell if it's good or bad and why.

So we got online. Heck, I couldn't understand half the definitions I was finding!!! So I tried to compare a bird in a cage with a bird outside. But then the next part of her homework is to write a letter to a girl in Korea (part of a story they are reading) and describe what it's like to live in the U.S. She's only in 2nd grade!!! So I tried to explain what some of our freedoms are. I explained that we can do whatever we want as long as we don't break the laws that protect people (like killing, speed limits, stealing, etc) When I got to freedom of speech, she tried to tell me that we're not allowed to say mean things to people. Oy vey! This is tough!!!!

I tried to tell her that in some countries girls aren't allowed to go to school and learn, or people aren't allowed to go to church, and you can get in trouble for praying. Then I talked about slavery. She got so mad that the "governor" would be so mean! Where is Jeff when I need him???

Hopefully once I read this story that they are studying, I can understand her assignment better. But of course she left it at school today.

Tonight Ally and I went for a short bike ride, and my phone rings. It's Debbie but all I can hear on the other end is some noise, nobody talking. She was calling me from the Haunted Mansion so I could hear it!!!! :rotfl2: She said they're at MNSSHP and they are just walking onto every attraction!!! :thumbsup2

Joyfulscrapper, one other thing. OK, maybe more than one.....

I ordered rubber id bracelet for my DD before our big trip in May - because we were with a larger group, including my inlaws who are really scatterbrained, I was worried about her. It has her name, and both mine and my husband's cell phone numbers on there. She wears it on her ankle cause her wrist is so tiny.....

See, here's where some of us disagree. I absolutely ALWAYS do the morning EMH. I advised my neighbors to try this in peak season in July, and they said it was wonderful!!! They hit 5 major attractions in Fantasyland in the first hour alone! But we usually get out of that park by noon, if it had morning EMH, cause that's when it starts to get busier than usual.

Another recommendation is to take photos of the front and back of your keys to the kingdom card (room key/charging privileges/park ticket), that way if you lose them, it's easily replaced at guest services. My husband lost his card a few years back and it was a piece of cake to get it replaced...

Also, we had adjoining rooms at Pop back in May and it worked fine. Except that I was adjoined with my MIL/FIL - that's another story!!! :rotfl2:

You know, we did EMH last June and did get alot done really early - it worked great! I guess I was quoting TGM, and our previous trip was to do the base tickets and skip the EMH - worked great in Oct. That is what I'm planning again this time, since we don't have kids.

Oh, I'm getting a headache thinking about your ILs! :lmao:

Thanks so much, Tammie & Kara!!! Sometimes it just helps soooo much to hear someone else tell you how it can all work out. :flower3:

You're from Jersey - worried about Jersey week? :rotfl2: Just kidding :goodvibes

Your ADRs look really fun! You can take the boat over from MK to WL and it only takes about 20 min to wait for it and get there. On the AK day, if you are taking the bus, be sure you give yourself about an hour, because you don't know how long you'll wait for your bus, and then how many stops it will make before it gets there..... I am a firm believer in renting a car after our trip last June.

Erin! So glad to see you and so happy you are "tickin" again! Come and plan with us! Your new career sounds great!

Holy cow! Nice to come back on and see an oldie, but a goodie: welcome back Erin! We missed you! And - - on planning another WDW trip!

So back from the dentist. Can't feel my nose, my lips or the whole right side of my face. What I can feel though is pain and soreness in my tooth! WTH?:headache: They had to give me THREE shots of novacane; I took 800mg. of Advil before I went in; and they me a 1000mg of Tylenol when they were done. I can't even imagine what I'm going to feel after this numbness wears off. Dentist said the tooth was infected and she drained alot; was actually pleased with how much she cleaned out. But she didn't want to finish completely because she knew I was uncomfortable. But the time I go back next week, the antibiotic should have everything cleared up and it won't be as bad. I'm so glad I really don't have anywhere to go until Friday - I do look pretty hideous!:scared:

I'm going to lay down for a little while; will catch up later! (I better freakin' lose weight after all of this is said and done; really haven't been able to eat much! )

Oooh - don't wish I was you. I hope you feel better quickly. Sounds like you should have gotten something stronger for pain. I'm so sorry. :sad2:

welcome Joyfulscrapper!

Thanks Laura! I finally packed today - need to get a pedi and wax my eyebrows tomorrow - have a few errands to run and clients to see. I never did get to my phone calls - it has been so busy around here.

Have a great Wednesday everyone! I'll check in tomorrow, I'm sure.

Good morning everyone! Feeling better today. Face is still a little swollen but I'm not feeling any pain or soreness. I've been sticking to the motrin/tylenol schedule so I think that's been helpful. Hopefully by the end of today, I'll see a bigger change and will be able to cut back. On top of that, I'm absolutely starving! Didn't eat much yesterday but now that my mouth feels better, I'm ready to chow down again.

Tammie - Have a wonderful trip! How many days are you gone? And did you figure out your ADRs for the March trip. I'm not sure if I missed a post or not about that.

Laura - I'll admit......I giggled a little too when you mentioned Tim had to wear a corset!:goodvibes I hope he's feeling better though and is not being too much of a burden to you! Lord knows, we all know what big babies men can be; hopefully he's sucking it up the best he can!

Kara - It's so hard to try to explain something on a 2nd gr. level. It's like you know what you're trying to say and just don't understand why they don't "get" it easily. It's why I respect teachers so much; they have those "little" tricks of simplifying things to the level they're teaching. Sounds like you did a good job though.

joyfulscrapper - First of all -- :welcome: to the thread! I'm so excited to see another Jersey girl around here. I'm living in Mass. now but am originally from the great Garden state - born & raised!:thumbsup2

You've gotten some good advice from Kara and Tammie. Just would like to add my thoughts. First of all, don't worry about it being "Jersey Week". I laugh when I hear people refer to it that way. Yes, NJ has a shortened week but NOT everybody hops on a plane and goes to WDW! (although my sister and her family are!) Honestly, I've been to Disney plenty of times during the first few weeks of Nov. and the crowds are just fine - we'll actually be there also: Nov.8-16th. Keep in my mind: you'll see some more crowds at Epcot because the F&W festival is going on (ends 11/9). But even during that, the most crowded times are on the weekends.

And, no, you will not being able to do everything. I think it's best that you just prepare your family for that and, like Tammie suggested, have everyone pick their "must-do" in each park. Focus on hitting the attractions that are most important and then if you have time left over, knock some more off your list! I, too, take advantage of EMHs. We usually stay out for the pm ones, but have hit the parks on the days of the am EMH also. We are not early risers at all, but even getting to the park by 8:30-9:00 still allowed us to get on so many attractions by noon. I will say though that those parks do become very crowded by 1ish so we would always clear out of there by then. So I guess if you're not getting the park hopper it is best to avoid those parks. As far as travel from MK to Ft.Wilderness or WL: we stayed at the WL in June and they have boat service every 10-20 minutes from MK to both resorts. The ride itself is about 10 minutes - very convenient and very quick! There's also the bus if you happen to just miss a boat. Hope this helps and don't hesitate to ask some more!

All right guys - I'm off to the mall this morning! Got to find some shirt for Lauren to wear to this dance on Friday night. It's been decided amongst her friends that they are either wearing jeans or denim skirts. Fine. But unfortunatley alot of Lauren's fall and winter clothes from last year no longer fit so she desperately needs something. Be back later!

Cammie - glad to hear you're feeling better - btw, did you know that JB are performing on Dancing with the Stars tonight???

Hi Cammie! glad you're doing allright. We'll be gone for a week - in MX for 6 nights, 7 days. We're leaving tomorrow evening and spending the night in our airport town - our flight leaves at 7am - don't want to be driving over there at 4am  We get back in at 11pm on Oct 2 - staying again for the same reason - Jim doesn't do well at night - he's a morning person.

I'll probably check in again tonight or tomorrow morning!

Debbie, welcome back! I think you come back today. Looking forward to more pics of those cute kids! I'm happy you and Kara got to meet each other!

So sorry ! What was I thinking??? ;)

My mom called to tell me because she knows that Ally is a fan. Ally. Ally. Not Kara.

I think I've become the world's biggest witch with a capital "B." BSIL emails me yesterday to ask what Ally's into this year for Christmas. So I respond and ask her what Disney characters her boys are into now, cause we were just there and plan to go at least once more, maybe twice before Christmas. She didn't respond. I know she was just boiling when I typed that. Which is, of course, the reason I did it!!! :rotfl2:

You're not a B****. When it concerns her, I say rub it in wherever and whenever you can! Go Kara! Go Kara! Go Kara!:cheer2:

Kara, I know I shouldn't, but :lmao:

Cammie, I did get my ADRs planned - they aren't taking any for March yet, but she said to keep calling back cuz things change.

Sun - RR
Mon - Cape May
Tues - WCC
Wed - Ohana
Thurs - H&V
Fri - Kona Breakfast - Flametree Dinner
Sat - Flying Fish

Okay, I really am off - crazy busy day tomorrow - we leave about 4pm, so I have to be up and organized early - still have to pack our toiletries, camera , passports and tickets, money, book, snacks, etc. We're meeting Ryan's inlaws for pizza tomorrow night, then to the airport at 5am Fri morning. Hasta!

I love the idea of the resort hoping diners. Good luck with the trip.

cammie- the dance will be so fun.

Missed the JoBros last night. Tim is home, or the big baby as I will call him. It is going to be a tough hall. This has brought up a lot of issues I thought we had worked thru. Thinking that it will get better once the pain goes away. My sister is here so that should take some stress off.

Did I tell you I too am a Daisy leader?!! I think I have seriously lost my mind

Tammie - HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!!!!

Laura - I think you need a  and a big bottle of wine! Remember, Tim can act like a baby all he wants; doesn't mean you have to treat him like one. Stay strong; you have a lot of things that you need to take care of and he's a grown man who should be able to manage somewhat. Good luck and hang in there!

Jonas Brothers on Dancing w/the Stars last night? Two words:

YUM - MEE!!!!!
3.gif

Ya know, I have to admit, Joey boy did look pretty cute last night. Looks like he got a hair cut... There's something about them though that I just can't put my finger on. They don't look like they're having fun or something. Just not big smilers maybe?

Laura - hang in there! And I agree with Cammie, just because he's acting like a baby, don't fall into his trap!!!

STILL do not have my car!!!! It was supposed to be done late yesterday. Nope. So I guess we're gonna have to make a special trip out to pick it up tonight after work. They have had it for over a week now!

Well, guess I should go to work since I"m off tomorrow. Talk to y'all later!

Kara - I'd be boiling mad about still not having a car! What is up with that?

As for those Jonas boys - don't worry, they're having lots of fun! Lauren has become hooked on YouTube because of them; they post a ton of videos of themselves doing some pretty silly things. I think that's why they have such a huge fan base - they've been doing that for years and it's how alot of girls became hooked on them. And yes, Joe was looking FINE last night - he's becoming more "manly"! Are you going to go out and buy a poster now?

And, speaking of hunks.........I love that Max on DWTS. My oh my!!!!

I'm a big Rocco Dispirito fan on DWTS - ever since we watched The Restaurant a few years back. I'd gladly eat at his restaurant!!! Jeff will actually watch DWTS because of Misty May - but he prefers her in her beach volleyball bikini....

Oh - that Rocco IS a cutie! And tell Jeff to just be patient; knowing the costumes on that show, I'm sure Misty will soon be dancing in something very similiar to a bikini!:rotfl:

And how cute is that Lance Bass and the Hannah Montana kid, Cody?

First let me catch you up, and then I will go back to read what has been going on with my buds! :goodvibes

1. D@mn F*****g BC Pills have me all sorts of messed up. Lets see. I'm on CD 10 and I'm in full blown AF for the past 3 DAYS with so much nausia I feel like a soda bottle that has been shaken and is ready to spew. Morning sickness wasn't this bad. The dr. said stick with it 14 days to see if it settles. Yesterday was pill 10 - NO THANK YOU! DONE! I'm DONE, not doing it, DONE!

2. I"m trying to pack. Next week is DSIL & DBIL's anniversary. I'm flying to Ohio tomorrow night to take Gabi until Sunday at 4 :cloud9: They are going out to a nice dinner, getting massages, haircuts, golf. I'm happy for them. Basically, they are staying there, but I"m going to be their Nanny. :) SO LOOKING FORWARD to getting my hands on that sweet baby!

3. Nicolas has been watching inappropriate shows at Nana's. I don't let him watch Y7 stuff because 1- he's such a woosie :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: and 2- he gets so freaked. WELL, they thought it was okay to just park him (SOLO) in front of like BATMAN, SPIDERMAN, etc the last two hours BEFORE BED! :scared1: Seriously, I've been up at night Sunday every 30 minutes. Last night it was 4 times. Horrible screaming, hysterical - so sad. Poor baby. Seriously talked to them about NO MORE! We'd talked about not to before hand, so Carlos and I have to seriously decide if we are going to keep him home for like a month to prove a point - not acceptable.

Tammie - I'd really love to hear your HONEST opinion on that one. I'm stumped. I don't want to keep from over there, but my mom is just odd. I remember that her tactic when I was a kid & woke during the night was to tell me that the hall closet had monsters and if I got out of my bed they'd take me away forever. :sad2: Our parenting styles are so very different. I don't want to deprive him of his grandparents, but I don't want him scared for life either!

UH - just realized I have to fly in almost 24 hours. :scared:
