I have been looking through all the menus for all the restaurants on another site and they don't list and "options" I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any place in DLR that serves brown rice? I know they serve steamed rice at Lucky Fortune Cookery, so i was wondering if there is a brown rice option. Need to find some for my DW who is on a real strict diet! Thanks for any help!

Oh boy! Honestly nothing comes to mind. You CAN call DL, however, and let them know your wife's dietary restrictions, and they can make some suggestions. I don't know the number but I've seen it mentioned on here before, maybe someone else can provide a number to call?

The rice and Lucky Fortune is mixed.

I do not believe you can ask for white or brown - it only comes mixed.

CrazyDuck,

I cannot answer about the restaurants around Disneyland...but Trader Joe's sells brown rice in the freezer section that you just pop in the microwave. It comes 2 bags in a box and there are at least 2 servings in a bag.

It is tough when you travel and are staying at hotels to keep to your strict diet.

Good luck - I hope you find a more convenient option!

Costco sells brown rice bowls that are sealed and may be stored at room temperature until you are ready to use them - just pop the seal a little to vent it and put it in the microwave. We eat them at home and they are fine - a little chewier than if you steam it yourself, though.

Disney is pretty good about dealing with dietary restrictions (at the table service restaurants) if you let them know in advance, but for counter service your options will be more limited.

I think I have eaten in just about everyplace there is(except the scummo joints) and I have never seen this offering. My DGF switches to white if there is no other option.

I eat brown rice whenever possible and I have not seen it at DLR/DCA or even in DTD. Now, that doesn't mean it's not available, if it's not on the menu I just order white rice, for me it's not necessary to eat brown so it's not something I ask about if I don't see it.
