Looking for best beer in WDW

We're planning an adults-only trip to WDW in mid-Sept, and I'm looking for any insight as to where/what is the best beer available on property. My husband and I are full-fledged beer snobs, so any help would be great. Just as a heads-up, please don't post about what we call "grey beer" (Coors, Miller, Bud, Corona, etc).

Suggestions? And is the brewery at the Boardwalk worth the trip?

Are you going during the F&WF? The Hops & Barley Market has some good Sam Adams beers... yummmmm.

If going to Epcot, then there is a special Sams Adams served in America.

Germany pavilion in Epcot...can't go wrong with fabulous Spaten, Paulaner, etc.

Or the UK Pavilion in Epcot too...Guinness...Smithwicks..Magners..etc

There's a good beer at the Dawa bar in AK, forgot the name.

Rose & Crown has a great bar with all the English/Irish standards (Bass, Harp, Guinness, Boddingtons.....). When I walk in there, I feel like I'm leaving Disney.

Big River Grill on the Boardwalk does have their own microbrews, and they do offer a pretty good beer sampler in which you can try them all in 3oz sizes. If you're in that general area, why not give it a go? They have a nice outdoor seating area if its not too hot. If you plan on eating, stick to the "pub" fare though (burgers/apps). The entrees are average.

We did F&WF two years ago; was actually disappointed with beer selection, though I am a fan of Sam Adams. If you haven't tried it yet, definitely check out their blackberry witbier.

My DH is a complete beer snob too (when you open our refrigerator you will find beers that actually are "corked" as if they were wine or champagne) He loves the pub at the UK in Epcot. We can't walk by there without him going in to get a beer. He is also big on Biergarten, both for the food and the beer.

Rose and Crown has some good stuff on tap (Guinness, Boddingtons, etc.) along with hard cider and does mixed versions (half bass half cider, etc.)

plus, you can get it served in a yard vessel (not sure if this is just during F&WF or all the time)

I do know that WDW does serve my favorite brand, "Cold". Maybe you've tried it? The Biergarten used to let you take your left over beer with you!

Those are some of the best kind! Some of my favorites that look more like wine bottles is anything from Ommegang Brewery in Cooperstown, NY.

And as for the Biergarten, we have ADRs for this trip! The last time I was there, I think I was about 3, so I don't remember too much about the beer selection! I do hear that they offer a German beer flight-- very exciting!

Thanks for the tip! I've heard less than stellar reviews about the food at the brewery, hence my question. I think if we go, we'll be sticking to their liquid offerings!

The bar at Il Mulino at the Swan has a pretty good beer selection, with a few types that are not served at the various Disney resort lounges.

Guinness is the best in the world or World, but other good choices are Safari Ale at AK, and Yuengling on tap at PTC and Tune In Lounge. Gotta try the beers at Le Cel, everybody raves about them.

Tusker at Jiko. I hope that it is available other places outside of AKL (maybe in AK?) because my husband loved it, we can't find it around here, and we aren't going to Jiko (or AKL) on our next trip!

Yes, the ones are Le Cellier are great. They ofter almost all of Unibroue, a fantastic Canadian brewery. My personal fav is Maudite or Ephemere. It's hard to go wrong there!

The only reason I have a reservation at Le Cellier is to try the beer - I'm not interested in steak.

You have to look really hard to find any beers of interest in WDW. Most of what you'll see is the typical mass produced industrial stuff you can get at home in any store which sells beer. Other than the Unibroue beers at Le Cellier, I haven't come across anything worthwhile in years.

At one time, I think the restaurants had some autonomy in selecting their beers/wines (for example, Flying Fish Cafe' had a beer from the Flying Fish brewery in NJ). I get the impression that the autonomy is gone, and most beer/wine lists are the same, with very few exceptions.

Ok, I can help with this...best on property is Unibroue (Maudite, Trois Pistoles, La Fin du Monde and Blanche De Chambly) at Le Cellier (Trois Pistoles and La Fin du Monde) at the Brown Derby. Germany now carries Spaten Oktoberfest at the carts and Sommerfest (goodbye Beck's!). In the Biergarten you can get Spaten Optimator and Franziskaner also. At the American pavilion (Fife and Drum and Liberty Inn) you can get Sam Adams Boston Lager (this is a recommendation on price alone - they only charge $6.25 vs $7.50-$8.00 elsewhere) - SA also has a booth at the F&W fest that has 10 of their offerings including a special F&W anniversary ale). Rose and Crown has the standard boring English/Irish offerings with no real ales as does Raglan Road. That basically covers Epcot.

Most of the signature restaurants now carry Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in the bottle for 6.75 (yikes!). California Grill also has Anchor Steam. The Crew's Cup attached to the Yachtsman's used to have a decent selection but that has been been forced to convert to the generic Disney drink book offerings.

We like Big River Grille but they brew no "big beers" ie. DIPA's, Russian Imperial Stouts etc. but the Rocket Red and Pale Ale are quite quaffable. Oh, and ESPN has the worse beer selection of any sports bar on the planet.

At DHS nothing worthwhile - best bet if desperate is a Yuengling at Tune Inn lounge or Backlot Canteen (if open).

At AK nothing worthwhile except maybe Tusker lager in the bottle at Dawa Bar.
