Hi all. My DW and I are planning to make a purchase of 200 dvc points soon, maybe this week. Are there any discounts or promotions that I should be made aware of before I do this? I heard that the DVC was offering $10 per point off, but I have'nt seen anything in writing. Can anybody Straighten me out? Thanks. :wizard:

I think what you are talking about is the $15 credit per point if you buy 150 points...if you get a referral from a current member. I got an email on it but it won't let me cut and paste it to here. I can forward the email if you want it as well as provide the referral.

We just purchased at SSR and didn't take the discounted point price, but instead received a onetime allotment of 200 points in addition to our purchase of 200. So essentially I have 600 available to me as of Dec 1. The onetime points go away next year, but we’ve already booked a cruise for May 07 (wife & 2 kids), and were able to get in at SSR from 18-22 Dec of this year…. We’re also Florida residents and only live 90 miles from WDW, so we couldn’t pass DVC and the free points up……

Congratulations, and Welcome Home!!

The 15th Anniversary special is $15 off at SSR, for a net price of $86/point. You need to tell your guide you have a referral, as they will not offer this price to you.
Another side thought, if you are going to purchase 200 points, think about splitting it into two contracts - one of 150 points and the other the remaining 50 points. If you ever decide to sell, smaller contracts are easier to unload.
Congratulations, and Welcome Home!! :cool1:
