I was wondering if any of the experts could put there two cents in on some of FL's Atlantic Beaches.....

I was thinking of going with something between the driving "range" of New Smyrna to Vero.....

but I was wondering...

what the beaches are like in May.... tides, beach width, water conditions...
what are the quietest and loudest....
where can you score some seashells and sanddollars?
any "hidden gems" worth driving to?

Thanks! :flower3:

We love New Smyrna. We stay on the non-driving end of the beach and it's very quiet. The beaches are pretty wide. The ocean temp is a little cool for me in May. There are some great restaurants, but not a whole lot else happening there (no amusment parks, bungee, go-carts, etc.). It's just a nice beach town.

New Smyrna is a nice quite beach..but it is also the shark capital of Florida!:scared1: The majority of the shark bites/attacks that take place in Fl, happen in this area.. and not far off from the shore. So just be very careful of any "shadows" you may see in the water....

Here is a very interesting link on it....
