Having problems deciding. We are booked at the BC Cl LV, but the CL lounge offerings seem to be sea-food oriented, which 2 people in our party are not fans of. However, not sure how many times we will be there in the evenings anyway. We have never stayed at an Epcot resort. We have stayed at the Poly, but not CL. I can't help but want to return to the Poly again. We will be celebrating my daughters 21st b-day. It will be my daughter, myself, and her bf. The Poly costs actually a little less, but GV. Really, I don't care about the view, the LV pics from the BC don't wow me. Thoughts?

I would stay at the Poly CL. Much nicer CL than the BC IMO. The lounge has the view across to the castle, the rooms are larger, the resort is just finished refurb and the food sounds like it will suit your party better. Some lagoon views from the BC are actually not very nice IMO. Certainly not worth any extra $$ over standard view. I would much rather a garden view from Hawaii in the Poly.

Thanks, that's how I feel as well. But for some reason my daughter wants to try something different. I keep trying to convince myself the BC will be fine, close to Epcot restaurants, Jellyrolls, etc. But my heart says go back to the Poly....

For people that have stayed BC CL, are there choices other than seafood for the 5 - 7 time? I saw a menu at one time on the boards, but can't find it now. Thanks!

We haven't tried CL at either resort, but have stayed at both and while the BC was nice, my choice would be the Poly. As Babsy posted, the Poly rooms are larger and the view seems to be one of the best! It was nice to try the BC and we enjoyed our stay, but (IMO) you really can't beat seeing the castle every day from the Poly. Good luck!

Since this trip is for your daughter's 21st birthday and she "wants to try something different", I think the choice is easy. Beach Club for her birthday.

Another vote for the Poly CL over the BC CL. I've stayed at both but I find that I enjoyed the Poly more, for the selections in the lounge, the awesome staff and for the view for Wishes.

Although choosing one CL over another based solely on an aversion to the type of food served in the lounge in the evening strikes me as somewhat odd, I can assure you that at the BC CL there are plenty of choices other than seafood during the evening appetizer time (cheese and crackers, veggies and dips, non-seafood hors d'oeurves, etc.).

I've stayed at both BC and Poly CL within the last month. They are both great. The BC CL has recently been renovated and is much larger than it used to be. I found the food offerings there throughout the day to be superior to those at the Poly CL. But, I'd make the choice based on location - if easy MK access and seeing Wishes are important to you, Poly CL is the way to go; if you prefer the Epcot resort area with the easy access to Epcot and the Studios, BC CL should be your selection.

BC CL would be more than fine, imo. The lounge and rooms have recently been renovated and are very nice. There is plenty of variety in the lounge, not at all just seafood. I believe in the CL FAQ thread there may be some recent pictures of the food offered.

Having said that, we also love the Poly CL and our family would most likely choose Poly CL over BC CL if given a choice. Not sure if any of our reasons pertain to you, but things that matter to us include: BC lounge closes at different times of the day, plus closes for the night at around 10:00 pm or so. Poly lounge is open 24 hours which is nice when returning late to be able to sit in the lounge with a pop/coffee and take in that view. Although the Poly lounge food is not quite as good as the food at BC, imo (BC has really stepped it up since the renovation), there are many other things that make up for it, such as the location of Hawaii to the main pool (steps away). It's so easy to go back and forth. At BC, not so much.

I wouldn't base my decision on the CL, especially CL food. I would go with your daughter's idea and base it on where you want to be.
We stayed Poly and would stay Poly again, but CL wasn't that great, honestly. Other than POG juice and the POG cocktail, I would not pay extra money or skip a meal elsewhere to eat that food. There were only two hot apps when I went...so I don't know that the seafood things would matter at all

We did Poly as a Feb adult trip and will try BC (not CL) on our June trip for a few nights, because we want to be in that area and try something new.

Thanks for all your input! From past trips, the view of the castle, the EWP, are all what makes Disney memorable to me. I think that is why I am looking at excuses to change the reservation. I think I will let it ride for a week or so at BC, and see how I feel then. However, we 100% like the food choices at Epcot versus MK. And drink choices. This is in celebration of her turning 21 after all (actually her birthday is a few weeks earlier, but she is doing a summer internship unitil August). Thanks again!
