Hi all,

Well it looks like we’re going to cancel our April 2022 reservation. Disappointing as we have a hard-to-get 2 BR Boardwalk view room booked for a week, but between some uncertainty with our travel party and our not so great experience with our visit this past November (crowds, park reservations, Genie+ etc) none of us are dying to go back right now. Sigh, and a waste of an AP.

In any case, once I pull the trigger with the cancellation I’ll want to start planning to rebook for spring 2023. We had a great week booked this year (week of April 1st) as it fell right after the busy month of March, and 2 full weeks before Easter. Next year Easter falls a week earlier so I’m really conflicted as when to book. Coming from the northeast March is an ideal time for us weatherwise, but know that’s a heavy school break month (including colleges). I’m definitely wanting to avoid Easter week and the 3rd week of April which is also school vacation week for many. Are there any weeks in March that anyone would recommend as being better than others? And is the week before Easter bad as well (Apr 1-7 next year)? I’m pretty firm on the March/April timeframe for this trip. Any insight would be most appreciated!

Many thanks.

The first or even second weeks of March shouldn't be too bad - school spring breaks tend to start the 2nd week of March and build from there. Mardi Gras is February 21 next year, so the Louisiana contingent won't affect March, and President's Day is the day before MG. I've always read that the weeks before and after Easter rival Christmas in park attendance, but I've never experienced them. We've gone the 2nd week of March several times because it was our kids' spring break here in Texas, and the weather can be variable but is usually pleasant. Now that we're retired empty nesters, we go in January and February!
