You can save quite a bit if you order plain shirts from a place like jiffy and purchase iron on transfers and make them yourself. For example, I wanted my family of 6 to have custom shirts for each day. Most online places were at least $20 per shirt if they didn't have a set up fee and minimum order requirement. Oops posted early by accident. Anyway, that adds up to $120 a day or $600 total for 5 days. I can buy the shirts for less than $3 each for a total of $90 and packs of transfer sheets for a fraction of the cost, price depending upon the type of material. I can even find lots of people online who will print and cut my design and mail the transfer I design to me, ready to be applied. Buying my design prepared by someone else who has the tools to make it (cricut or silhouette) is still much cheaper than ordering the shirts already made.
For me, I could buy the machine and make my own for the same cost of having them made and I get to keep the machine for all my other customization projects. It's the logic I'm using to convince my husband to get me a silhouette for Christmas, anyway.
