We are celebrating my dad's 70th with a famity trip to WDW and would like to design and order t-shirts. Thinking of customizing each one so my dad's will say Poppa and the kids will have something like Princess 1 etc. My daughter has a design in mind or we can work with predesigned ones. Looking for advice on where to go for this. Any recommendations?

custom ink has a great site, with an awesome design lab. I use it a lot. then take the designs to local t shirt places.

You can save quite a bit if you order plain shirts from a place like jiffy and purchase iron on transfers and make them yourself. For example, I wanted my family of 6 to have custom shirts for each day. Most online places were at least $20 per shirt if they didn't have a set up fee and minimum order requirement. Oops posted early by accident. Anyway, that adds up to $120 a day or $600 total for 5 days. I can buy the shirts for less than $3 each for a total of $90 and packs of transfer sheets for a fraction of the cost, price depending upon the type of material. I can even find lots of people online who will print and cut my design and mail the transfer I design to me, ready to be applied. Buying my design prepared by someone else who has the tools to make it (cricut or silhouette) is still much cheaper than ordering the shirts already made.

For me, I could buy the machine and make my own for the same cost of having them made and I get to keep the machine for all my other customization projects. It's the logic I'm using to convince my husband to get me a silhouette for Christmas, anyway.

EvilQueen2018 makes good suggestions, and I will be DIY-ing a lot of shirts myself. The freezer paper method seems really easy for a custom shirt - google it, or check the DISigns board - they have both fantastic ideas and fantastic templates that you can print onto transfer paper. I also understand that they are kind enough to customise designs sometimes. Check it out - they are mad talented. pixiedust:

I have seen a bunch on Etsy that you can customize. If you are into bling there is a seller who has some nice Mickey and Minnie rhinestone shirts, I have my eyes on those.
