Looking for advice on best venue for July 3rd MK fireworks

Just wondering if anyone with experience can give me some advice on this. We just picked up an 8:05 pm reservation at Narcoossees for July 3rd. We are actually staying at GF that night. We are a family of four with a 10 year old and 8 year old. I am wondering if this would be a good option to watch the MK fireworks. We had all along been talking about trying to get the DVC Independence Day dessert party for the 3rd and watch the fireworks from there (I know this books very fast so it may not be an option anyway). We enjoyed the DVC Halloween party in October. If anyone has done both or either of these would you recommend one over the other? I would say our biggest priority would be to watch the fireworks. We have never done either--dinner at Narcoossees or the DVC Independence Day dessert party. Thanks, Greg

We are planning a stay at Poly for the 4th 2020 and from videos i have seen there is a beach (on the poly side) which has a pretty good direct view of the castle. It isn't the main beach of the poly (which might be restricted to poly resort guests only) it is more on the walking path between GF and Poly. Check out tim tracker on youtube he did a video there a year or two ago (just search poly 4th of july fireworks - you'll probably get a lot of videos.

The fireworks that night look amazing!

Now can you catch the fireworks after dinner?- if they are at 9pm I'd think you would miss them but if they are at 10p you should be ok.

July 3, 4 are blacked out if you are not staying at BLT. We bought BLT points and book for that night and December 30, 31 which are also blacked out.

Note: the best spot on the beach at Poly are reserved seats that you need a ticket. Other viewing is free, but crowded.

Narcoosees is a great place to watch the fireworks. You can go out on the back porch next to the water and the music is piped in. If you are still eating, you can leave your table, go outside and watch, and then come back in and resume your meal with no problem.

I have been there when the back porch is closed, so you might want to call the restaurant and inquire.

Another great place to watch the fireworks at the Grand Floridian is right outside Gasparillas quick service restaurant. The music is piped in there, too.

When you watch fireworks outside the park, whether at the Contemporary, TOTWL, or Grand Floridian, you are watching from an angle. When you watch fireworks in the park in front of the castle, you get the illusion that the low altitude fireworks and the high altitude fireworks are all on the same plane, and over the castle. When viewing from the side, you can tell that the low altitude fireworks are near the castle, but the high altitude fireworks are way back, well outside the park. So you lose a little bit of the magic. The best place to watch fireworks is in the park. I am not familiar with the Dessert Party, but if you can get a Dessert Party in the park, you will have a great seat.

My 86 year old mother loves fireworks. We took her with us at Christmas a couple of years ago. We did all three with her! We saw the Fireworks in the park at MVMCP. On another night we took her to TOTWL. On our last night we took her to Narcoosies, and watched from there (where you can also see the Electric Water Pageant). She loved them all.

@miTnosnhoJ is totally correct! Staying at GF and eating at Narcoossee’s puts you in the perfect location to watch MK fireworks without actually being in MK.

Need a ticket? do the have some sort of special paid event? I have heard they will section off and only allow resort guest with wrist bands in a certain part of the the beach, but never heard of needing a ticket for a certain area.

We have been to Narcoossees during the fireworks (though not on July 3rd). You may find that restaurant guests or hotel guests or just anyone stands on the deck outside the windows during the fireworks. Just something to keep in mind. We've done the July 3rd and 4th fireworks every which way. I recommend watching from the Poly on the beach just west of the resort on the way to GF. It is much less crowded than the beach near the Hawaii (concierge) building in the resort itself. One other factor to consider about dessert crowds in the park can be incredibly dense during this holiday . . . another reason to consider the beach at the Poly I mentioned. But you can't go wrong, I mean you're at Disney World on July 3rd. Good luck!
