Hi. I'm having a lot of trouble getting reservations since we booked last minute. It is pretty disappointing to know we are spending so much money, but can't secure many dining options. Anyway... if you were there recently, did you ever try to make ressies on the same day? I'm hoping that people might cancel on the last day because their plans change or they had booked two meals at the same time. Do you find this to be true? Were you able to make last minute reservations?

Also, I've been calling everyday (wasting tons of time) to see if they've had any cancellations. They haven't. Is this a waste of my time or will I eventually get something.

I have secured several dining options at nice places, but at strange times. For example, we booked two crystal palace dinners, but they are at 3:40. I know my kids will be starving at lunch time and again before bed so I'll have to figure out some hearty snacks.

Thanks.

I usually ALWAYS make ADRs and have everything planned out perfectly. But, we went the first week of Feb with NO PLANS. (it was a last minute trip!)

We were able to book and go to Biergarten for lunch (at like 1:30) and my parent's were able to get into Chefs de France for dinner while we were able to book Crystal Palace for dinner (at like 5:15). I couldn't get into Chef Mickey's, but I was thrilled to get in anywhere at all.

You might be surprised at what you get. I don't think it is harmful or a waste of time to call each day to get what you really want. One time (I know it isn't dining) but I called 3 or 4 days in a row trying to move my resort to the Poly and finally on day 5 I got it. I was shocked, but so glad I had kept calling. You never know what can happen!pixiedust:

If I can't get ressies before I go, I just leave my options open and walk up to the restaurant I want to eat in and see if they can fit us in.

Now, we aren't trying places like Chef Mickeys, lol, (food is disgusting there anyway).

Don't sweat it...enjoy your trip!

You never can tell what will happen.....Our son and dil and two rugrats decided this week to go to Disney with us....now we are talking next month....so I called and changed our reservations....so I know that at 5pm on april 27th there was an opening at cyrstal palace.....On May 1st there are openings for 2 at Le Cellier...because I want the two rugrats to have a great time...we opted out of le Cellier...and we were able to get some character meals for them.....I say keep trying anyways.......be more flexible with your times.......we are also eating at the Palace at 3:40 but we will have a good breakfast and then have an early lunch for the kids and then eat at that time........we can always go back to the resort and have a snack before bed treat......

I say keep on trying until you get there and then keep on trying more.
Hope you have fun

Keep calling daily...you never can tell. Then, when you get to WDW, call daily then as well. You can also head to Guest Services at each of the parks and see if there are any openings at the restaurant of your choice for that day. Never hurts to ask.

Check when you get there...we were there last week and they had openings at Tonys, CP, Plaza for dinner...there was a sign out at City Hall on Main Street.

At Epcot they were taking walk ins and Le Cellier had a few openings too.

Another option is to try resort restaurants

We have also just walked up and got into places to eat. When we first got to MK we walked to the castle and made dinner reservations and then enjoyed the rest of the day at the park. In epcot we got right in at the Morocco and China restaurants. You could also keep your 3:40 ressie and when you get to MK just try to switch it that day and see what happens, if they have nothing, you still have something :thumbsup2
