We'll be leaving the AK around 5 & would like to go eat somewhere. We'll be staying at SSR. I don't really want to do Boma or Jiko, but I don't know what else won't be too far out of the way. Any suggestions?

(I may consider eating at AK, but I'm unsure about what TS places they'll have in June due to all of the changes they've made there lately.)

We're sort of torn right now between Rainforest Cafe or trying out Yak and Yeti since it'll be open for our trip. I'm not sure that helps at all but...

I forget about the Rainforest Cafe being there. I'm not sure that's what I want either though.

What resorts would be easy travel from AK and then to SSR? Are there any?

Any resort will be just as easy IMHO if you are using the busses. You can take the AK bus to the resort for dinner, then take a bus back to the nearest theme park and transfer to the SSR bus back to your resort.

We actually decided to go to Kona Cafe for dinner after our AK day. We wanted to try it and it seemed to fit into our schedule for that day very easily since AK closes so early in the winter.

When does Yak and Yeti open? What type of food can we expect them to serve there????

I'd probably choose Y&Y just because it's new. Other than that, are you not interested in dining at DTD? There's plenty of variety for multiple meals in one visit. You could take the AK bus to DTD, then walk or take the bus to SSR from there.

I had originally planned on DTD for dinner on this night. However, if I'm reading things right, I can't use the DDP down there except at Captain Jack's. DH really wanted to try Wolfgang Puck's, but I don't think it's DDP.

Wolfgang Puck's Cafe is on the plan. WP Dining Room (upstairs) does not accept it.

What about Turf Club at SSR? I heard it is pretty good. And quiet.

Thank you! I told DH last night that we weren't going to be able to make it. He'll be glad to know it's a choice.

So...from AK, what's the best way to DTD? Do I bus to SSR, boat to DTD & then switch boats to the side with Wolfgang's? There's got to be a better way, right?!?

I would plan to eat at any resort restaurant that you'd like to try. If you are doing the DDP, then I would pick Ohana's or Kona Cafe at the Poly, WCC at WL, Spoodles at the BW etc and then just take the DTD bus back from whatever resort you decide to eat to return to SSR. But if you have plans to get back to one of the parks for fireworks that evening then you may just want to have dinner there and make life easier. Good Luck.

I would bus from AK to SSR, then eat at Turf Club (we tried it the first time in Oct...Excellent!) or walk to DTD and eat there. :)

Or boat to DTD and walk to Wolfgang Pucks.

We ate at 'Ohana on our AK day. Any of the MK resort restaurants are pretty easy. Just take the bus directly to the resort you are eating at from AK and then after monorail it to MK (or take the launch or walk from the Contemporary) and get your bus to SSR. We love the chance to check out the deluxe resorts!

If you have Park Hoppers I would leave AK at 5 and head to Epcot! Make a reservation for your favorite place....Le Cellier, Garden Grill, etc. Plus you can get some extra time at Epcot, which is always a good thing!

We are having Boma for breakfast on the day we're headed to Animal Kingdom. While talking to cm, I told her I wanted to make dinner reservations also. I asked about Rainforest and as another option, she suggested Tusker house. It will be opening soon (not quite sure about the date). We have reservations there for the 20th of November. You may want to consider that. I haven't seen the menu posted yet, but she did read me everything on the menu and it sounded good. We made ressies for 5:30.

This is another great idea! With AK closing early and Epcot always open until at least 9, this should be easy.:goodvibes

The only thing we eat at AK is CS at Flametree I would never eat at Rainforest. I think the food there is awful. It only has a nice atmosphere.
