Hi All,

We'll be going to Orlando between Jan 29 - Feb 8th. We are looking for a nice Villa near Disney (within 5 - 8 miles or so) for Me and my Wife, my parents and our little girl (1 year old). 4 adults & 1 child

We need at least 2 Bdrms each with Queen bed. Things that would be nice are stuff for baby, pool, hot tub, big screen tv etc... but not needed.

There are so many villas out there it's hard to sort through them all. Does anyone have a good recommendation perhaps they stayed in a nice place before. Price is also important, looking to keep the costs down as much as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

We usually stay at Indian Ridge which is 192 west, ideally situated for everything. We managed to find a great villa as follows:-

holidaylettings co uk
Property id:5751

We have stayed here already for this year and have booked again for next year. I cannot fault this accommodation at all, it caters for all my needs, children and all. This property will not disappoint you if available.

Good luck in finding accommodation. :cool1:

Why don't you check out the dvc rent/trade on this website? You will be right on property and get all the benefits. Your are during the slow season so you might be able to get it pretty reasonable.

There are lots of options out there.

In our case, we generally rent a house but decided on a condo this trip, because we're going in December, and the weather can be changeable (even more so during your timeframe). I didn't want to pay for pool heat, and then have the air temperature turn off so cool that we didn't want to use the pool. By renting a condo, the pool at the complex will be heated.

One more site I would add to what you've already been given is www.windsorhillsrent.com . We decided on Cypress Pointe, but Winsdor Hills was a close second choice.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the links so far ! :thumbsup2
Keep 'em coming. I'm a newbie at all this (haven't been to disney for 20 years when my folks took me)

Is it a good idea to book early ? I notice some of the properties are booked well in advance.

There's so much out there, I think I'm leaning towards one of the "communities" that have a resort feel and a nice big pool and stuff for our little girl to enjoy. We may only do Disney 5 days out of 10 so would be nice to be staying somewhere that has some stuff to do so if we don't feel like going out everyday or even at part of the day.

What do you guys think about Skyauction ? Are there nice rentals to be found on there or would you recommend to just book from one of the other websites ?

Lots of other threads about priceline...these are mostly 2 bedroom two bath...you or your parents will have a private bath in the bedroom, the other will have a hallway bath.

Check out the other threads...there are lots of posts about Priceline...

For a real resort feel, I would look at Windsor Palms, Emerald Island, Terra Verde for homes.

Booking early is not as important as it was 3-4 years ago as there are many many more properties today. It is all in what makes you comfortable. You can wait till a week before you leave and try to get a big discount or book now and sleep nights...it is all in your risk factor tolerance.

This is good advice. Personally, we usually wait and book pretty close to when we plan on going. Last summer we booked a 4BR/3BA house with screened pool in Westridge Manors (gated community) for the middle of June for $480 for the week.

We waited until about 3 or 4 weeks before we left, checked the availability calendars on www.vrbo.com, and asked the owners for their lowest all-inclusive prices (only owners who accepted credit cards for our own protection). We had lots of offers - everything from condos to houses.

I was comfortable in finding a place to stay that would be satisfactory. Not everybody is made like that. Some would worry themselves to death over not having a reservation made, and some have to have a property that's "exactly" right.

It just depends on what you're willing to go with. Good luck!

I love skyauction - but I also live around 10 hours driving from WDW - so I can get in my car and go.

It makes it more difficult (not impossible) to get good deals on skyauction when you must fly. plus you will then need a rental car.

have fun - heck have the fun is finding a good deal!!!! :wizard:

Do any of these sites (vrbo or others) have the ability to do a search for available rentals or only rentals with the options you want ?

It's takes a long time to browse through each ad and then sometimes I don't remember which ones I've looked at !

Thanks for all the info so far.

djpositivek,
we stayed in a 4 BR villa in Windsor Hills this past June. The resort is great...very nice pool, clubhouse with it's own movie theater, etc. The house was beautiful, had 2 master suites, very kid friendly, and the price was great also. Best of all was the exceptional service from the owners. They own 4 homes. The website is www.romancingthemouse.com. Pm me if you have any questions. Good Luck!

As spiceycat said, windsorhillsrent.com lets you do a mass inquiry for available units. Then the owners get back with you.

On vrbo, I only looked at the ones that had the little calendar (so I could check availability) AND the credit card on the listing. That narrowed it down some. You can also sort by the number of bedrooms/bathrooms on vrbo if that helps any, and they're separated by neighborhoods.

www.vrbo.com will let you do by bedrooms and by community...so you could do ascending bedrooms in Windsor Hills or Emerald Island or any "Kissimmee" community...I would stick with Kissimmee for the closest homes...Ted

Lynn,

Any idea why the availabilty search feature doesn't work right on last minute villas?

I know, a little OT, sorry:)

When you put in your date - just on the browse available villas section, at the bottom - and returns villas with availabilty, it doesn't filter out villas that are booked already..?

Or maybe it does, and I'm just not doing something right..?

Anyway!
That's a feature that would make a good site - like VRBO - really great. Put in your dates, bedrooms needed, and whiz bang, here's what's available.

The other thing you can do, djpositivek, is as you're going through the list of villas, just jot down the listing number of villas you like.

I then print those listings off, and then have paper in front of me to look at, makes it easier to compare, I find.

We loved our house in Glenbrook, Canopy, last winter. There's a review of it up on the Review Board. But Glenbrook itself - although it has a community pool - has a mix of permanent residents and vacationers, may not have lots of other little kids poolside for your daughter to play with.

HTH!!

Hi!
No,it doesnt have that feature as such.
You put in your dates then that goes as e-mail to all owners. Then only owners with that availability should reply to you.

The only live search is in top left corner that is homes which have availability for that month.

The problem is - many owners advertise on alot of sites and it really would be very time consuming and need alot of organisation to update all of these sites.

One I am on like this is www.villas2go4.com

Regards,
Lynn

Ahhh... thanks! I couldn't imagine that the site could scan all those availabilty calendars, but who knows these days!

The villas2go4 looks really easy too. Thank you for the link :thumbsup2:
