I just bought a 1-inch button maker on a whim, but realized I don't have a printer (genius). So I'm online looking for one, but I haven't had a printer since like 2001, so I'm feeling a little lost. Is there a specific brand I should be looking at? Right now, I'm looking at a Canon. I don't need a photo (as in photo paper only) printer, since I will mostly be using a light card stock or just plain copy paper, but I want the images to look nice. Being an AIO would be helpful. I will probably use the scanner more than I realize. It doesn't need to be wireless.

I don't have a HUGE budget for it, but I can weigh different options.

What are your thoughts?! Please educate me! :goodvibes

I like my Brother laser printer. I only paid 300 dollars at Office Depot. It makes beautiful color prints.

We got the HP Officejet 6500. I love HP printers. We never seem to have problems with them. The 6500 is a wireless all-in-one. We got it from Office Depot of $199. We have tried Epson and Canon, but never really liked them as much. Always seemed to have problems with Epson with the ink cartridges.

Even though you don't need a wireless, we really like ours. I can be in the living room on my laptop and print or scan from there. We have 3 computers and only 1 printer, so this is a plus for us. Now we don't have to save to a flash drive and then go to the computer with the printer. Or take my laptop to the printer and hook it up.

The dance school that I go to has my old HP. I even got my BFF hooked on HP's. She used to be a diehard Epson fan and is now a HP fan.

We just got DS18 a Dell V313 to take to college and have been using it. It is really easy to use and has pretty good print quality. It is an all in one and it has memory card slots so you can just upload from there.

We have a color laser printer and a wide-format inkjet printer.

I have to use the inkjet printer for any cardstock. The toner from the laser printer does not stick to cardstock because it is coated, and whatever I print just smudges. Same if you ever print on vellum with a laser printer.

We have several computers/laptops and we can print from our one printer connected to one computer......all on the same network- so you don't "need" a wireless printer to do that-same with with sharing files/music we do that all the time never have to use a flash drive as long as file is shared I can go on any computer in the house and grab that file to view/edit on any computer. Our printer is a Brother MFC440 CN- had it several years no problems other than it will jam photo paper sometimes and does not hold very much paper overall so constantly have to fill it up.
