I am unable to go to the parks due to limited mobility. The rest of my group will go to Magic kingdom for the day but I want to stay poolside and relax. I plan to get a room at all star music for one night. We will arrive Friday morning and the others will go to the park. Can I hang out at the pool until my room Is ready? Any other suggestions?

Yes, you can use all the amenities of your resort on the day you check in, even if your room isn't ready yet. You may not go to another resort and sit at their pool.

It would be cheaper to get a ticket to the water parks and hang out there, but I don't know if that would be easy for you if you have mobility issues.

You also have access on your entire day of check out to all your resort amenities as well. It's a bit cumbersome to sit poolside on check out day if you have to depart that day but the restrooms work to do a quick change to leave. We sat at the pool the last day at AKL, checked out late around 1pm and still sat around till we were ready to hit the road.

how would it be cheaper to go to a water park than hang out poolside at the resort they're staying at?
OP said they want to book a room at an All Star just to use the pool during the day while their family is at the park. A room is like $150/night right now, vs about $50 to go to a water park for the day. The way they worded their posts (they asked the same question elsewhere on this site) makes it sound like they're local or just heading over for the day to do MK.

The way I read OPs post above was they were planning on staying at AS for one night. I didn't see their post elsewhere. If that's the case, then by all means water park is cheaper. If they're going to be staying for one night irregardless, then resort is cheaper.

Eh a value pool isn't very "relaxing" IMO. I would even consider POR an upgrade and probably not for that much more $$

I agree with you, particularly at the AllStars. We find the Bowling Pin pool at POP can be very relaxing and uncrowded. OP had posted on another forum, and there were some great options I would rather pick, but the OP set a budget of the price of a one day park ticket that they are not buying. That keeps them at AllStars, maybe POP depending on date.
