Hi all -

I plan on going to FL in April from the 6th - 12th and I have a room booked at POP Cent. BUT I can't get over that it is just a room and a tiny one at that. I want more but don't want to pay a whole lot more. There will be 1 adult and 3 kids (13,11,9) going and having condo amenities is nice with kids. I would like to have - a nice pool, some kitchen amenities, free laundry facilities and room to spread out. I have stayed at the Sheraton Villages (i think that's the name) and those are nice but I was looking for something different. Any thoughts, suggestions?

If a regular hotel is recommended I would like to have at least a continental breakfast included.

Also please keep in mind that the kids especially the 13 and 11 year old don't want to share a double bed & I will share with my 9 year old daughter.:goodvibes

TIA!!!!!!
Michelle

Have you called the Residence Inn LBV for price and availability? They have an incredible 2 bedroom suite, full kitchen...one king, 2 queens, and a living room with a sofa bed...and very nice full breakfast and even managers evenings snacks.

On our last trip we paid less than a Dis moderate, incredible, but stay there because of their liberal pet policy (puppy, contained, can stay in room with you for a one time fee).

You will need transportation tho.
Good luck!

I'd stick with POP and take an air mattress so your kids won't have to sleep together. We've done it, and it worked great. Mousekeepers will give you sheets & a pillow for it. You'd be able to use the Disney buses, including ME, which are great, and will be able to use EMH's, which are priceless as far as I'm concerned. The kids will be at the POP pool when you aren't in the parks, so you won't all be jammed up in the room except when you're sleeping. Plus, you won't have the stress of having to drive back & forth to the parks and paying $11 per day to park at WDW. You could take breakfast food and eat in the room before dashing off to the park with morning EMH.

I guess the reason I am questioning staying at POP is just because of the space and we will only be doing 3 days at the parks so we will definately have some down time. I see the plusses of on-site but I think you get more bang for your buck off site (except ambiance/themeing). This is also kind of a budget trip for us and eating out can cost so much - it might be nice to cook in a little or be able to make a sandwich instead of eating out lunch and dinner every night. I am so torn.

I visited last year and took a tour of POP and it is so cute and my kids fell in love with the themeing. I just don't know about those rooms! I also am used to a wonderful pool at the resort we've stayed at in the past and the pools at POP are cute but are missing that overall tropical feeling I like.

Transportation is not an issue as I am driving there and back.

THanks for the feedback so far.

Has anyone rented a condo or townhouse from Windsor Hills? How are those and are they priced fairly?

Again, TIA!!
Michelle

There are loads of condos & townhomes to choose from and you are right it will give you so much more room and make your vacation feel that bit more relaxing.

Have a look at vrbo, homeaway, or lastminutevillas.net and look under Kissimmee - I am sure you will find something suitable. Also check out the accommodation review section on the DIS :goodvibes
