Can anyone help me with this, I can't find one on the net anywhere! Thanks!

Make your dinner reservations early. We just booked dinner for 7/21/03 and could not reserve our first choice.

I don't suppose there is a kids menu. Or maybe the question should be, Is bringing a five year old to Tchop Chop a bad idea?
Please give me an honest opinion.

Thanks,

There is a childrens menu...but, only take the child if he/she is used to dining out with you and can behave during dinner.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful.

We were there for the second time a couple of weeks ago...we were seated near a table of five adults and five kids...ages 3-6. The children were running crazy in the restaurant...playing in the fountain..I hope the kids didn't break the water lily sculpture in the fountain..they were pulling it all over. The kids were running back and forth between tables...driving everyone crazy. When the waitstaff saw that the kids were not behaving, they did walk over and ask the parents to make the kids stay at the table....this only worked for a minute. The parents didn't seem to care in the least...they kept right on talking...eating, ordered desert...hubby and I could not believe it.

Needless to say, we could always take our children when they were young....and we were always complimented because they were so well behaved. So, for some kids, it isn't a problem to go to a great restaurant..in fact we encourage it...if the kids can behave.

Thanks for the great info webray! I have been trying to find out if they included a kids menu.

Seeing those children behaving the way they did while the parents did nothing about it would have been upsetting to most trying to have a nice enjoyable meal. Some people just dont care!

I have been trying to decide where to have dinner for my birthday and I think I am going to try for Tchoup Chop is sounds perfect. If I cant get a reservation for dinner do they do lunch as well?

Thank you again for your review and this additional info! :)

Yes, Tchoup Choup does serve lunch also. The menus for lunch and dinner are very similar. Just a few more things added in the evening.

Our first experience at Tchoup Choup was for lunch. It was very quiet...not as crowded as in the evening..although this has probably changed since word has gotten out what a great place it is. It is very easy to hop from the parks to Tchoup Choup for lunch...just grab the RPR boat from the dock at City Walk. There is also a sidewalk near margaritaville...but, it looks like the boat will be faster.

Webray,
Thank-you for your reply. Our children are restaurant savvy. We have restaurant rules, one being that all times you must be by some means attached to your chair. Gameboys (without sound on) are very good for occupying one's attention during waits between courses. However, Nathan our five year old can test the rules if the waits are very long. I will have to think about it.

It would really tick me off to have a bunch of kids acting like that in ANY restaurant - but especially a place like that. We went to Le Cellier a few years ago and there were 2 children marching around the tables BLOWING WHISTLES!!! while their idiot parents sat around talking. I don't understand parents like that! At that time I sat and got mad and finally a waiter said something to them and it got a little better. At this time in my life - my cranky 40's - I'd complain to the staff and the manager and quite firmly if necessary! That's not fair to the other people in the restaurant. I understand about fussy babies (although even then, when my DD was a baby I'd take her outside if she started crying in a restaurant) - but running and playing in the fountain - there's no excuse.
