Well, we are headed to BWI in a week and I am taking my parents. I wanted them to have a nice hotel so I booked BWI, but now I'm thinking I made a big mistake. I know part of the experience is what you make of it, but I just want to hear something positive about BWI. SO, can someone please tell some positive experiences they have had and something good about the room?

Thank you!

BWI is my favorite resort. Perfect location, beautiful landscape, and the over all feel of the resort is just amazing. The best thing about BWI is that there is so much to do around that area. After going to the parks during the day we like to have a nice dinner in the area (you have sooo many places to choose from) and then after we like to hit up Jellyrolls for a few drinks and some good tunes. :3dglasses

The atlantic dancehall is really fun too!

you will definitely have fun!

I was going to say...I have not really heard anything negative about it. I have not stayed there, but have at the Beach Club and that area is the BEST, so much to do and so close to Epcot and MGM, I am not sure I could stay anyplace else. At some point I will probably stay at BWI I just like the Beach Club a lot, but everyone has "their own thing" My fiance would like to stay at BWI he thought the slide looked like fun. I think you made a great selection!

I have stayed at BWI several times(BWV's also) and have been nothing but delighted with the entire resort!! I am now an owner of DVC at the BW so future stays will likely be on the villas side of the resort. The location is fabulous with access to Epcot and MGM being very convenient, either by boat or a short walk. Being in this area puts dozens of restaurants very close by. I get goosebumps every time I walk into the lobby....just beautiful and the porch overlooking Crescent Lake is a great spot for just plain relaxing. The Bellevue Lounge has a small porch where we sat before dinner at the Flying Fish and played a couple of card games while sipping drinks and watching the sun go down!! The quiet pool on the Inn side is the prettiest quiet pool on property (Saratoga Springs a very close second). I have been staying at these 2 resorts (BWV and BWI) since 1999 and much of the staff has been there all this time, professional and always courteous (love the main pool bartenders!!).Remember when you read these boards to take all opinions with a grain of salt...we all like different stuff and any visit can have a problem. My feeling is always that a bad day on vacation/Disney is way better than any day at work!! Oh, and the rooms are just lovely...similar to a bed and breakfast kind of feel and a gorgeous concierge lounge too!! Have a great trip!! ::MinnieMo

I've been very surprised by a couple of recent reviews of BWI.
I have stayed there twice on the concierge level and loved, loved, loved BWI!
I think it has one of the loveliest lobbies on property! And the location is to die for! The room decor is pretty, as are the grounds...
You will have a wonderful time I'm sure. Enjoy!

We stayed in the BWI twice and loved it both times. This past June we had a standard room (4278 or 4287) with a fabulous view of Epcot. We were able to see the fireworks right from our beds. Below us were the BW Villas with beautiful flowers. It was a peaceful and great view.
Our first visit we were on the Boardwalk side overlooking the boat dock. It was also a great view, but it was kind of noisy with the activity on the boardwalk below us. Our son was young during that first visit so we got to bed rather early.
As others have noted, the Epcot resort area is so great for a lot of reasons. So many great restaurants to choose from. Check out the menus on allearsnet.com....go to dining and menus for the Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan and Dolphin. It is so nice to be able to walk or boat to both Epcot and the Disney Studios. The entertainment on the boardwalk is a lot of fun. One day when it rained we found that they moved the entertainment to the lobby of the Boardwalk.
One tip I can give you from our June visit.....We were at the BWI for eight nights and were getting tired of going out every morning for breakfast. We saw the sign for the Belle Vue room just before the elevators on the lobby level. We tried it for breakfast and loved their selections. They have muffins, bagels, donuts, assorted cold items along with coffee, juice, etc. We enjoyed taking the food back to our room and eating breakfast up there before heading out for a long day. I also thought the prices were pretty good. They have seating areas so I believe you can also eat right there if you want to.
The BWI is definitely on the top of the list for our next visit to WDW. Great resort and great Cast Members.

I am so glad to read some good reviews too!!! We'll be staying at the Boardwalk June, 2006 - my little girl has been dying to swim in the "clown" pool!! We are so excited!!!! We've stayed at the Swan before, and we love the Epcot area!!!

You have some good reviews here, but one thing I will add is that this resort is small and charming. Everything is kind of compact so it will be easy for your parents to navigate and not get too tired. We also like that you don't have to walk outside to get to your room it's all under one roof.

Have Fun, we leave for BWI on Weds.!!

I wanted to add that the room decor is the prettiest on property, of all the deluxe resorts, IMO. I just love what they've done with the contrast between the blues. The public areas are beautiful, too. :wizard:

Just stayed at the BWI for 2 nights at the tail-end of our trip (back on 12/4). IMO, it is in the running for one of my favorite Disney resorts! I thought the theming was great, the Xmas decorations are beautiful and tastefully done, and the room was spacious and very nice. We were in a standard 1st floor room (1302), and we enjoyed the quiet courtyard we looked out onto - the weather was nice, and we spent time out there just relaxing. We could also see the Epcot fireworks from our patio.

After spending 4 days at the WL (and not being all that impressed), the BWI was a very nice change. We wish we had spent our entire stay there! I would seriously put it just about on par with the GF, I thought it was that nice.

Enjoy!!!!

We just got back from BWI Concierge--we will never stay anywhere else again. I am already homesick and have started counting down to our next trip. The ambience is awesome. We stayed on 02 and loved it but wanted to try something else in 04-Never again. I feel like we are home there and the concierge staff was wonderful. :cloud9: You will love it.

Big mistake? Hardly. This is the best resort on property, IMO. Best room decor, best resort area, best location. I would give anything to stay at the BWI again, but we were forced to settle for the WL for our next trip due to funds. I am already missing the BWI. If I could, I would never stay anywhere else.

Here's another positive review for you, we loved BWI! It is very small and intimate, the staff is fabulous and attentive. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the views are great, especially if you luck into one with a Boardwalk view. We loved sitting on our balcony people watching. The pools were great, we loved walking to Epcot and MGM and bus service was great. It is a very romantic and elegant resort, I wouldn't worry about your choice!

I sometimes think it's hard to find ANY reviews on BWI! It's almost like it's a well kept secret! ;)

DH and I LOVED BWI for our recent wedding and honeymoon! It was our first ever trip to WDW and the staff was very helpful with ideas and suggestions. We stayed in a Deluxe Concierge room (3227) with a FABULOUS boardwalk view...I loved people watching from that little balcony!

The resort is so beautiful! We briefly visited the GF and the Contemporary while we were there and we decided the Boardwalk was way more our style! We originally wanted the Poly, but even after a peek of that resort, we knew we made the right choice for us by staying at the Boardwalk...

There is so much to do and see...Epcot is a short walk from your room...we can't imagine staying anywhere else!!

The BW Inn is a lovely resort and I am sure you will have a great time. You can get unfavorable reports about all resorts if you do a search.

However in all fairness to those that have had less than stellar visits, I notice several who commented in this thread that they loved their visit, stayed concierge. At the BW Inn there is a huge difference in staying concierge and not.

We stayed at the BWI in February and we're going back next month. We thought it was lovely. It's our new favorite.

I wouldn't worry one bit.

Well, I stayed there last January and I didn't stay concierge---I really liked this resort. Here's my experience:

Our check-in cast member wasn't the friendliest. The first room they wanted us to stay in was a smoking room. I went back to the front desk and requested another room. We were given a fine non-smoking room on a first floor near the quiet pool. I know I had requested non-smoking prior to arriving so I'm not sure why we were given the first option, especially during a slow time. :confused3

Anyway, the grounds are beautiful, the room was nice (very minor wear and tear that you'll find at every resort), the location was fabulous.

I would return here again without hesitation.

Is it perfect? No. Is it a great resort? I'd say so.

Give it a try and enjoy your stay! :sunny:
