I have been searching for this fudge recipe that I could have sworn was on this board before. It had sweetened condensed milk as part of the ingredients and it was a real simple recipe. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. :goodvibes

3 cups (3 packages - 6oz each) semi-sweet chocolate chips/pieces
1 can (15oz) Eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup ground nuts - if desired

In top of double boiler melt chocolate over hot water; stir a few times, remove from heat.
Stir in sweetened condensed milk, salt, vanilla, and nuts if used.
Turn onto waxed paper lined 8inch square pan; spread evenly and smooth surface. Refrigerate until firm about 2 hours.
Turn candy out onto cutting board. Peel off wax paper, cut into desired sizes...

For mocha variation:
omit vanilla extract and use 1 1/2 tablespoons instant coffee...

This recipe if from the original Eagle Brand recipe book circa 1970s. Hope you enjoy!

I use the recipe on the container of Marshmallow Fluff. It's very simple and turns out perfect every time and you don't have to worry about the temperature of the mixture! When I try to make the other kind, it always gets too hard too fast and it tastes like it has sugar crystals in it - yuck. :cutie:

If you want another really easy fudge... (Peanut butter though!)

1 can vanilla frosting
1 jar (regular size) peanut butter

combine in microwaveable bowl and cook at 20-30 seconds intervals till you can easily combing the 2 - put into pan and refridgerate! For alternates you can sub any flavor frosting - chocolate, use chunky PB! Or melt chocolate and pour into pan 1st - let that set then add fudge - gives you a reeses type consistency with chocolate on bottom

I second this receipe, very good and super easy. Now I have to get some of this so I can make it. Yum

FYI - Rachel Ray does the Eagle Brand one - but she uses one pkg butterscotch chips and one pkg chocolate chips - and nuts - melt them down then have a pie plate ready (or a round 8 -9 inch CAKE pan!)

1. empty can of Eagle brand condensed milk - must be the sweetened condensed - wrap this can in plastic wrap and stick in the center of a buttered cake pan...

2. Pour your fudge mix in and around the can to form a circle with a hole (ie the empty can of Eagle brand)

3.Before it sets, I think, you decorate it with those dried Christmas red and green cherries, I think I remember she cut the green ones in half to form the leaves, and the red cherries the center - its super simple (5min fudge) plus by putting it in this shape it looks so cute!! Makes great Hostess Gifts!!
