We're going to be renting a Go-Go Elite scooter for a week, and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good bag to fit in the basket... I realize you could stuff just about anything in there, but I'm specifically looking for something that fits nicely, could be strapped through the holes, and has some sort of closure (twin zippers maybe?) that could be secured with a luggage lock. We're not planning on leaving anything valuable inside, this is just to discourage a quick grab while the scooter is out of our sight.

Thanks!

I use the EZ Scooter Basket Liner. It has a zipper pouch, and two mesh pockets to hold drinks or cell phone. It is long from top-to-bottom so you can keep it open (as shown in product link below) or close it with the adjustable drawstring. Not sure if it is guaranteed waterproof in case of rain, but it is heavy nylon material. I would buy a cheap poncho to cover the basket and scooter tiller in case of rain, or plastic shopping bags. Have a few ponchos handy for the scooter user, too.

I use a scooter full-time and have taken it to WDW many times. There isn't any particular way to secure the liner to the basket, and frankly, I have never heard of anyone making off with a scooter basket liner. Ever. However, for your peace of mind, go to Walmart and get the little 4" cable ties. You could run the cable tie through the mesh basket, then make 2 small holes in the liner to complete a closed loop. Trim off the excess cable tie.

I give you this link because they had the best price for the scooter basket liner. Their shipping was calculated to be $7.80 to my address. This site is a known disability supplier, not a fly-by-night. You can also search for your own supplier. Best of luck! :)

is to do it with a backpack to the back seat. Find a backpack that has 2 steel zipper pulls with a hole big enough on it to get a small lock onto it and then lock up the zipper pulls. We have also used a bike lock to wrap the backpack onto to the seat. Between the the two locks that backpack is not going anywhere.

You can probably find some kind of bag/purse with a handle that has 2 zipper pulls and you could do the same thing for the basket if it is weaved with openings;some baskets don't have a weave opening. Lock the zipper part and get a cable or whatever through the purse handle and attach it to the basket if the basket has openings so you can do it.

In our 30 trips we have never had an incident where anyone took anything out of the scooter basket. Mind you we don't leave any valuables like a camera or a wallet unattended in there, either. I have heard of strollers which have had instances where someone has taken something, but even in that case I haven't heard that much bad going on.

I did a search for purses that lock and there are plenty out there to choose from. You would still need something to secure the purse to the basket. There are security locks made for purses to.
