My husband and I want to head to Orlando and stay all of February and March of next year (2026). We have DVC, but not enough points for more than a couple of weeks.

I am looking for advice on the best way to do this. We want a full kitchen and we will need to bring our dog and cat. I will also need decent Wifi since I will be working remotely.

TIA!

VRBO or AirBnB. There are a kajillion short-term rentals in the area, for a two month commitment you should be able to get a good price. It is not too early to look, seeing as how you need two open consecutive months.

We live near Mystic Dunes and I am pretty sure the bartender there, we know pretty well, told us pets are allowed. I think it's a Hilton timeshare golf resort that can also be rented online and it's not badly priced. They are condo style with kitchens and bedrooms and elevator in the buildings (so no stairs). Plus, bonus, they have a bar and restaurant (Kenzie's) in the clubhouse. They are about 15 mins to most Disney stuff. Located off 192 and Old Lake Wilson. Walmart nearby.

Next to Mystic Dunes is Windsor Hills. They have condos and townhomes (with private pools on lanais). They have a nice clubhouse and amenities. You can rent on Airbnb or Verbo and the like. The townhomes can have pets and some renters will allow.

I think you can really narrow your options by looking for cat friendly. Some places allow dogs but not cats.

I will second both @Brian Noble and @HopperFan as to the availability of short term rental vacation homes in the area, especially in the Davenport, northern Polk County, area where short term rentals are allowed. A quick search of VRBO will show plenty of possibilities. You might find that a 3 or even four bedroom vacation home to be very affordable, especially for a longer booking. You will get your full kitchen and plenty of room for your pets and a workspace.

Also strongly second the encouragement to search now for your extended 2 month stay. Vacation homes can book early, sometimes with recurring yearly bookings. When we were renting our vacation home we were occasionally approached with extended stay requests that we had to decline because of earlier bookings.

As per @HopperFan you will definitely want to contact a "pet friendly" owner to confirm their acceptance of both a dog and a cat. You might be asked for an additional cleaning deposit.

Want to know this also, and wondering if you know for sure no Marriotts are as we have a lot of points but need to bring my little dog who cannot tolerate boarding. So if anyone knows of a Marriott property that allows pets please share also. Near WDW Or Universal

Welcome to the newly renovated
Inn at Celebration Autograph Collection pet friendly resort …
You did say you had Marriott points …

I think there are plenty of Marriott hotels in Orlando that take pets but if you are talking the Vacation Club units, no they do not take pets.

Pretty sure DVC does not allow pets. When we goofed on our DVC reservation a couple of years ago, we were able to get a 1 BR at a nearby Hilton Vacation Club on short notice. We are Hilton Diamond but not vacation owners. Hilton allows dogs - not sure about the vacation club or cats.

For that length of stay - and with a cat - VRBO or AirBnB - and look NOW. I might write a list of "must have" vs. "would like to have" to help you sort through options, too. And location - how far from Disney? And ask yourselves - if you have to change rentals - how many pack up and move times do you want?
