I believe you type in the code under the barcode if you are shopping online.

I went to the link you posted and I took the barcode letters and tried to use them. I got a message they were invalid. Maybe they are only for in store?

I was at the store today and they gave you 30% off your purchase if you gave them your email address. It worked for me at 2 different stores. They said they were running that promotion through the weekend.
