We're looking for an alternative to on-site connecting rooms at the value resorts, which is where we normally stay. We need a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite - either a king and 2 doubles, or total of 4 doubles. We've stayed at Quality Suites before and wasn't really impressed (overall not bad for the money), but I would like something nicer. I've found the Staybridge Suites and Sheraton's Vistana Resorts (both listed in Lake Buena Vista). This is the area we're looking for. Can anyone tell me their experiences with either of these hotels, or do you have any opinions on where else we could stay? Thanks!

We just stayed at the Wyndham Palms Resort and C.C. in December. We booked a 2BR through www.hotelkingdom.com for $89 a night. It had a king suite and a room with 2 doubles (maybe queens) and a 2nd bath, full kitchen, w/d, big screen tv and patio. It was a 5 min drive to the gate.

I would highly reccomend Vistana Villages on I-Drive if you see a good rate as well.

I would try skyauction to get the best price and these locations.

Feel free to email me for more details.

I meant private message me or just look for the threads on skyauction on here.

We've been looking at Cypress Pointe from hotelkingdom.com. A 3BR is only $80 in Dec. This may suit you!

Well, I went ahead and booked the 2 BR/2 BA at Staybridge Suites (LBV) for $99 a night at the Entertainment Card rate. I've got until May 15th to cancel it, so I'm still open for options. I want something as close to Disney as possible. We're pretty torn because we really love staying on-site, but this time we're staying longer than we usually stay (usually just 3 nights instead of the 7 nights on this trip), so we need to save as much money as possible. One day we plan on pretty much spending all day at the hotel, so I want something that will be fun for the kids as well.

Cypress Pointe does look pretty nice (couldn't find the Wyndham Palms for our dates). I've never used Hotelkingdom.com before. Sites like this make me nervous. Have you used it before? Any hidden fees I should be worried about?

We, too, have stayed at Wyndham Palms Resort and CC and booked through hotelkingdom.com

Our two-bedroom suite was as another poster described. Really quite nice and big -- over 1,500 square feet. We had a screened in balcony, big screen tv, washer and dryer, full kitchen, jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, two queen beds in one bedroom and a king in the master bedroom. There was a sleep sofa in the living room. It was a great deal for $89 per night.

I would not hesitate to book through hotelkingdom.com It is a reputable company. We had no problem at all. I am using them again in February for the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal.

Good luck!

We recently stayed at Windsor Palms. We had a 3-bedroom condo that slept 8, but they also have 2-bedrooms that sleep 6. Depending on season, they start as low as $55/nite and are almost new and very nice. I've stayed at the Quality Suites and there is no comparison between the two.

:D Hi Please note that Wyndham Palms Golf and Country Club is not the same as Windsor Palms although Windsor Palms used to be called just Wyndham Palms.
The Golf and Country Club is a full resort the other is private houses and condos.
Not sure where or what the place you booked is but if Vistana is close to $ I would go to it as it is a first class resort with lots of amenities practically at WDW entrance. Try skyauction for this resort as well as it might be cheaper depending on availability and when you go.

You are correct, and that has been a source of some confusion. I was confused when I first booked it.

As for amenities, Windsor Palms is not totally lacking them. They have a beautiful clubhouse that has a game room - video games, pool table, ping pong, an exercise room, a small theater, a store that sells essentials and a bunch of microwaveable food, a nice pool, videotape rentals, etc. The complex also has tennis and basketball courts.

I don't know the specifics of Wyndham Palms - never been there.

Hi,

Here is another option for you.

The Residence Inn LBV (Marriott) is about two blocks down Palm Parkways from the Staybridge Suites you have ressies at.

Tthe RI is gonna be a bit pricier, but is is a lovely 2 br suite with l king and two queen beds, kitchen lr, full free breakfast.

Sheraton Vistana Resort
Sunterra Cypress Pointe Resort
Marriott Sabal Palms, Royal Palms or Imperial Palms Resorts (on shared property with Marriott Orlando World Center - with all of MOWC's amenities)

These are all located in the general area near LBV, within a mile or so. Also, Silver Lake Resort is in Kissimmee, right behind Animal Kingdom. It's another very nice option. Any of these would provide spacious accommodations for your family size, with a few extras, plus a great day or two to enjoy the resort amenities when not at the parks.
