Going to WDW in 6 days :cool1:, but not staying on property. haven't been to the World around Christmas time in over 15 years.:santa:

And then I'll be back in May 2015 - staying at AKV and BWV. Birthday week :thumbsup2

So I'm looking into late Fall 2015 - here' my options(staying off property):

November 8 - 15 Anything happening then??:confused3
How's Thanksgiving week(November 22-29):rotfl:
Christmas week(December 21-27) next year. :santa:

TIApixiedust:

Nov 8 will likely be the last day of Food & Wine and Epcot will be extremely crowded that day. Otherwise during that Nov 8-15 week, the crowds will be heavy but not extreme. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at MK that takes place three to four times a week will begin at about that time, possibly as early as Nov 6 but likely no later than Nov 9. Park Christmas decorations will be up, fully at MK, partly and then fully at other parks as week progresses, but not at the resorts. Veteran's Day will have some mostly solemn events involving veterans. Weather is usually ideal, still in the low eighties.

Thanksgiving week all Christmas Decorations will be up including at the resorts, and all Christmas events will be going on including the Candlelight Processional at Epcot which begins that week. Crowds will be heavy and then to extreme as the week progresses.

Dec 21 to 27 will start out with heavy crowds the first couple days and then build to the full Christmas crowd. "Extreme" is an understatement for how large the crowds will get. It will be wall to wall people in the parks to the point that getting around becomes much slower than any other times. standby lines for popular rides can go as high as three hours. Park hours are very long. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party ends before the 21st so it will be gone. Santas in various forms (Mickey, Goofy, Stitch, others, depending on resort) visit the resorts usually a couple times a day before Christmas.

The 8th-15th would be my pick for sure. Everything starts to change over from halloween to christmas. Crowds should be lower than your other dates. :santa:

Thank you for your reply :thumbsup2, But What about after Thanksgiving - Nov 29( I think that's a Sunday) and stay until December 6. TIA

Nov 29 to Dec 6 is usually a good time to go. Heavy but not extreme crowds, all Christmas decorations are up and all events are going on, and weather is usually fine although some risk of cold.

It also happens to be DVC's highest demand tiime of the year. If staying DVC, you should be prepared to reserve exactly 11 months out and you should have no expectation of being able to get a near park resort at 7 months out.

I was there at thanksgiving this year, cash reservation, not DVC. The parks were crowded, but not anywhere near insane like they get at Christmas.

Standby lines. Toy Story was crazy (140 minutes), Seven Dwarfs was long, but also new.

I am not restricted by school vacation schedules, and the first two weeks of december are by far my favorite. COnsidering schools are out, Thanksgiving was not anywhere near as bad as I was expecting. All decorations were up, including the Gingerbread houses, etc. The very merry christmas party was not happening until the sunday after thanksgiving, since they really can not close the magic kingdom early during the other days.

If It were me, it would be your 11/29 - 11/6 days for sure tho! MVMCP will be going on, totally decorated parks, lower crowds. High DVC demand tho!

Actually, I will be there, either that week or the next...already in the plans.....

We have a temp reservation (off site timeshare we own) for Nov 29 to Dec 6. But DH doesn't like the idea of it being cold in the evenings. So now he wants to know how the temps are from Nov 8 time frame. TIA pixiedust:

We were there last year at that time in Nov. Most days it was high 70s to low 80s day and mid 60s at night. Shorts weather. However, we had about a day and half of cooler weather that came in overnight one day and broke before noon the next when the day high was only about mid 60s and early morning and night were down to the mid 50s.
