Looking at colleges? A help guide

I just thought of something else. Our state has laws that you can't smoke inside any buildings, and we don't smoke so I didn't think of it before. Do colleges allow smoking in dorms? If so, that would be on my list of questions - how do they separate smokers from non-smokers. I would hope it would be by building and not by floors.
