Looking at an 11/07 trip, but AKV

isn't up for sale or booking yet. What to do, what to do???

I'm hoping to buy AKV w/ CM DD the very first day possible, but when do you GUESS they will start to book it? Will it be a crazy mad rush? If it is, will I still have enough time to book somewhere else, you think? This waiting is driving me INSANE (not a very long drive, but still...) and my travel dates are NOT flexible with this one (it's between a cruise and a convention).

I wouldn't plan on waiting if you want a fall 2007 trip. We were told it would be iffy that things would be ready SOMETIME in the fall of 2007, but I'd probably make a ressie elsewhere for now and hope you can buy VAK by then.

I agree with Diane. Make a reservation at another resort now. If/when AKV becomes available, see if you can switch and/or waitlist, etc. FWIW, yes, I think there will be a mad dash at the beginning. There are 100,000 DVC'ers and we know that the first phase of AKV will be only 134 units, and it is during fall which is a popular DVC time. Putting all of that together, I think it will be tricky initially. Plus, the speculations are that the first units, since they will be part of AKL, will have concierge access, and I think this will be a HUGE draw (my speculations, here, just to clarify).

Better safe than sorry...book now to make sure you have space SOMEWHERE. If AKV becomes available, jump on it and cross your fingers!
