Lookin for a hotel for the 5 of us for the drive down

Hey Yall ,
We are doing our 1st road trip down, and my problem is trying to find a cheap hotel room that will allow my 3 kids, Dh & I to only pay for 1 room.
I'm not paying like $200 for for 2 rooms for 1 night !!! I was actully thinking of "sneaking" my 7 year old in the room lol

Does any one have any tips or advice as to hotels or what to do??

I believe many of the suite hotels permit this -- Comfort Suites, Country Inn and Suites, Springhill Suites, etc.

We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites in Lumberton, NC recently, & I would NOT recommend it. We have stayed there a few times prior to this stay, and it was fine. This time it looked and felt very run down and dirty. The carpeting was filthy, and the bathroom floor was sticky-ish. We could never get the AC to work properly. It more or less cooled the room, but it never took out the humidity. I did kill some big black bug, but other guests had roaches - yuck! The breakfast was awful. My husband threw away his coffee; he said it tasted like burnt Maxwell House.

Where are you thinking of stopping? I've driven down twice in the past 15 months with my wife and 3 kids and we never had any issues.

I spent hours researching places, my kids are 12, 9 and 4 y.o. I compare reviews from tripadvisor and expedia along with prices and amenitites.
I just booked 3 places for us for our drive down in 2 weeks! We are staying at the Regency Inn & Suites in St. Augustine Beach. The room has 3 double beds, fridge etc and it includes breakfast for under $80 with tax http://beachregency.com/checkinn.html

Also we are driving the Rte 78(PA) to I-81 to 77-26-95 route
Staying at this Motel 6 in Richburg SC for under $60 with tax http://www.motel6.com/reservations/m....aspx?num=4580 for on the way down.
Rooms are set up like Microtel Inn with a window seat that doubles as a bed for one of my kids!

Then staying at a Red Roof in that has 2 doubles and a sofa in Roanoke/Troutville VA for around $110 for the night with tax(cheap compared to all the others in the area)
