I went and saw the doctor today and he said I have Scalp psoriasis.
I thought I just had a bad case of dandruff. But after him getting a Magnifying
mirror and was able to part away my hair and really show me what was there I almost
DH and son both have this...they use the tar shampoo 2x's a week. DH's is so bad that it spreads to his forehead and ears. The ears will swell and crack...now that's really disgusting and painful. I hope the shampoo works for you.
DD has it. She uses the tar shampoo as well as we watch her diet when she has an 'outbreak'. It gets really bad when she is nervous or upset about something.

I've been wondering lately if the hives I have are a form of this. I haven't ever had the scalp part diagnosed, but I do have an itchy scalp with occasional scales like that and it definitely gets worse (as do the hives on my arms/legs) with stress.
I have had this for about 3 or 4 years. Not as bad as some of the pictures you posted - but if I let it get out of hand I can get patches that are. I have found that for scalp psorasis - nothing over the counter works. I am on Olux. It has been working very well. The best stuff I have tried thus far.
Good Luck - it is treatable - you just have to find what works for you. Mine flairs up when I am really stressed out.
I've suffered with psoriasis since I was a little girl. I have scars on my elbows, knees and toes from it. Unfortunately, those areas now have vitiligo.
I was misdiagnosed for over 15 years with excema, before a doctor finally told me that I had psoriasis. I was prescribed a very strong (and very expensive) steroid cream and it works very well, but I can't use it on my face.
The only patch I currently have now, is behind my right ear. The cream is oily and it gets in my hair, so I tend to suffer through it, instead of treating it regularly like I should. My daughter lovingly tells me it looks like my ear has been sewn on to my head.
The strange thing about psoriasis, is that it can go into remission and either go away completely in that particular place, come back somewhere new, or hit the same spot a few times every year.
I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Haven't had anyting on the scalp though. I am on Enbrel and methotrexate for the PA mostly. I used Dovonex for the P.
After reading the responses and posting mine, I went back and looked at your link, expecting to see this horrifying case of psoriasis.
Instead, I saw me! That is exactly what mine looks like, although the closest I've had it to my hair, was the current spot behind my ear and a spot that used to be in my hairline on the back of my neck. (Back then, I used to perm my hair - omigod, talk about burn!!)
