After reading other trip reports I thought I would add one also. As it sits we are going to arrive the morning of April 18th and stay until the afternoon of the 23rd.

We have reservations at the Disneyland Hotel (using my CAA card for a discount) with a pool view room. I also have our 5 day park hopper passes waiting for us at the check-in (got those for the price of a 3 day one, it was the special at the time). I have two sets of character breakfast vouchers ready for us and have made PS's at Goofy's Kitchen and Lilo and Stitch at PCH Grill.

Now, just a little back ground information on us, my DH  (30) is an underground miner and only gets to come home every few weeks to see us. Myself :teacher: (34), I am (was) an instructor for a community college, and my DS pirate: (3) is in preschool and loves anything Disney. We are still watching Mickey's Christmas, which began last August :santa:

I was informed in January of my campus' closure and the loss of my position (could take another position at another campus but would mean a move for the entire family) and decided to use my leaving package for a trip to Disneyland. My husband agreed and the planning began in early February. This will be the first trip as a family, besides the weekend drive and stay for a few days.

When we told my son he was really excited, we explained we would be going on a plane and that he would be able to watch movies, have a snack, colour, and play his Leapster. His reply was "I think I'll take the boat!:rolleyes1" We have now convinced him to try the plane since it will be quicker. I still have fears he may not get on and bolt in the airport, my best friend just giggles at us :rotfl2:

So, as it sits right now, we are scheduled to leave on Thursday, April 17th with a stay overnight in Vancouver and then a morning flight into LAX. I will post more later as I am also trying to make sure I have my lists ready for packing. I am obsessive about my lists, guide books, and trip boards, drives my DH nuts, but it calms me to plan and plan effectively:surfweb:

Until next time, TTFN :laundy:

Woke up this morning and noticed the ticker has finally hit single digits

My son is now telling everyone that we are going to Disneyland, however, in his mind it is in five sleeps, but everything in our house is happening in five sleeps to him. I have been actively preparing my little DS pirate: for the first Mickey meeting, explaining that Mickey will be as big as Daddy :scared1: and not to be frightened but I'm still not confident this will be enough.

Because of my obsessive plannning I have been going over and over these boards and am now extremely scared I have forgotten something. If you could see my lists (quite extensive) you would know what I mean, at this point I need a list to keep track of my lists!

The house has also caught a cold over the weekend  and I am desperately trying to get my DS pirate: to feel better, to the point that I am now not well. Rest is what we all need now.

To make things more gloomy and give me something more to worry about (like will the plane land), it tried to snow here again yesterday

Well hoping everyone else is having a wonderful day, will update soon.

:thumbsup2

It started snowing here the other day and it had to be the most depressing thing to see. If I weren't leaving in a few days I would have pulled my hair out.
We have now done a trial run on the suitcases, because my husband had to pack before going back to work his was done three weeks ago. My DS and I are sharing a suitcase and the room inside it is at a premium. :laundy: I have decided to take two main checked luggage with a duffle bag inside for coming home and each of us take on a carry on.
My DH and I have always been lucky that nothing has ever missed the plane or a connection but one never knows. My DS got a brand new Disney theme HEYS suitcase from DH and he is sooo excited. "Mommy it has Mickey, Minnie and the plane to Disneyand on it". Unfortunetly we gave it to him earyl and he has been pulling it around the house for two weeks.
Today was the Disney movie marathon here:happytv: , we watched Tarzan, Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas (the one where Donald's three nephews keep having Christmas over and over again, well that is that movie playing in our house since August 2007:dance3: ), then it was Lilo and Stitch, and finally Cars. Well DS should be prepared by now!

I'l write more soon, would love to know if this schedule is even do able with a 3 year old? Comments anyone would be great.

:thumbsup2

Well we are off to the airport today, we had to drive 3 hrs :drive: to get to the nearest airport, stay over night, endure a wind storm, and now we get to fly. My DH is still a little nervous about DS getting on the plane, (he has never been on one) and we would like to apologize now for the disturbance that may be made for this two hour flight to YVR. :rolleyes1

When we arrive in YVR we are staying right at the airport, I figured that the tramatic flight, anxiety :scared1: , and the need for me and DH to have a drink made the expense of the airport hotel worth it. :drinking1

Tomorrows leg of the trip means up by 5am for DH and DS so we can clear customs for our 3 hour flight to LAX. Watch out Mickey the McFee Family Funtrip has just begun:cheer2:

party:

Yay! I hope your trip is going well and that everyone made it on the plane! I wish I was at Disneyland!

Can't wait to read more!

Can't wait to read more. Will be waiting patiently :surfweb: . I hope DS first flight goes really well. Have fun! BTW, here in Calgary we are supposed to get snow for the next 4 days. Hope that the weather will be a lot nicer for you than here! :sunny:
