We have DL AP's that expire Oct. We have enough WDW passes for the next two trips. I told our guide all that, and she said the vouchers can be used at EITHER place, anytime. We can just hold on to them indefinitely.

We have so many friends who have this and enjoy it. Our problem is Dh is starting back to school for his 3rd degree so I'm just not sure if it's wise to buy into until he's out and has a GREAT job!

I did it 3 times! It was the BEST!!!!!! Can you tell I still love it. Plus I met Dh on it. Dh and I said our kids HAVE to do it when they grow up. I made the best friends ever and had the best time of my life.

I know you weren't asking me, but YES, if they announce a GC DVC next week, I will be swayed, swung, swingin', and swooning!

If it is announced, I may actually buy a small 50 point resale contract at SSR just to become a member. DVC members are given the opportunity to buy points at a new resort first, before the points are offered to the general public, so by becoming a member after buying a small resale contract, I'll be first in line (with the rest of the DVC members) to buy points at the GC villas. I have a feeling that with only 50 units planned at GC, they'll sell out pretty fast. We shall see.

Welcome Home Patti! You are going to LOVE DVC. We used some points for the GCH in September and get to go "home" next week in WDW.

I'm crossing my fingers for the Grand Californian Villas. Hopefully they make the nightly point requirement pretty cheap so that we can always stay there because now I don't want to stay anywhere else at DL.

Absolutely, I would buy in an instant providing that the points amount go down for GC DVC like other DVC properties. I know they lowered them this year, but when you compare 24 a night to 11 at BWV, it's quite a difference still!

Good to know I can hang onto the annual pass vouchers. We may not be going now in May due to DH's job, so it really really sucks! I have put this off for two years now, and even though I go to DL all the time just me and the kids, I really want our first trip to the world to include him! None of us have ever been, and if I'm flying that far, he's going!!!

Yes I did rent points for the May trip, a friend of mine owns DVC and rents them to me pretty cheap!

Do you actually have to be there or can you call and set up a contract over the phone? I can't go before my February trip and I'm afraid it will be sold out by then if they start selling right after the announcement. Plus DH isn't coming in February, and I would need him there to sign!

If indeed they announce it, it'll be MANY months before they start selling points there, so I wouldn't worry about it. They won't start selling points until they're well into the construction process.

But, to anwer your question, yes you can buy over the phone (but I don't think you'd get the free APs).

You definitely need to take the tour at DL to get the passes and the $50 gift card. I mentioned to my guide that my DSis will be touring in March, and I hope they still offer the passes, and she didn't take the bait. I know the passes have been offered for a while now, and I hope they leave that incentive going. If you figure it out price-wise, it's totally worth it for you to book a quickie SW flight just to do the tour and get the $700 passes!

BTW---she also said I'm eligible to receive referral credit now that I'm a member! If anybody decides to buy, remember who pushed you off the roof!!!! PM me for more info if you want---I'll split the referral bonus.

You must buy to get the APs. You get the $50 gift card for taking the tour.

I get the "whatever you want, hon" line, too. It drives me nuts! Maybe because I won't say it because I have an opinion about EVERYTHING!!!

Ok - someone please explain this. If they haven't even announced a DVC at DL - yet - how could the passes be offered for some time now? What am I missing here? Even if they announce the DVC at DL soon, do they have a model set up somewhere? What kind of tour would they be giving if they don't have a model?

Patti!! I hope, hope, hope they will be announcing the DLR DVC soon! I've been waiting! They have a very nice DVC center at the DLR now, just waiting for those DVC buyers!!

Yes they have a model set up with an office and an area for the kids to play while you tour and talk. It is to buy into Saratoga Springs at WDW right now, that is the contract you would be offered.
