well, my new suitcases arrived today
so I can pack the prepacked piles from my bedroom!

also, the cardboard boxes are very handy for making my t-shirts this afternoon

for one dollar at the second hand store

when DH asked what I did yesterday, at dinner time
I said "I highlighted my hair"

he said "You did? I didn't notice! I guess it didn't really need done!"
DS said "I didn't notice either, what did it used to look like?"



the girls would have noticed instantly

CVS has half off a lot of summer stuff
including lots of great airplane snacks!

For a quarter to 50 cents
you can get PopRocks, Emerald brand cashews, lemonheads in the snack size boxes (I love lemonheads) and those Crystal Light drink mixes that are the size for water bottles, ten packets for fifty cents! Woo Hoo!
(I personally hate kool-aid, but my kids love it and love dumping them in their water)

lots of other snacks, too!

I sprayed the shirts in the garage
and let them dry on the driveway
and worked up a sweat!
It is hot outside today!

they are in the wash now, to wash out the eu de clorine smell

This job is not what I expected and I'm miserable all day

First, the shirt I got for one dollar today

which arrived just in time
for me to have lots of cardboard for my shirt making

Okay, bleach shirt making 101

buy colorful t-shirts

make cardboard mickey heads
it is helpful to use your big ole disney mug for a circle size!

I learned when making the second head, NOT to use permanent marker, which I had to scrub off the Disney mug and the plate that I used.

pattern will go in the center of the shirts:

Now, take the shirts outside before you spray with bleach!

sprayed, cardboard removed:

take outside to dry in the sun

all drying (last two still with cardboard inside)

now they are in the wash to get rid of the smell
then I may embellish them a bit

dont' know if I will spray words on the back
didn't get nice crisp outline of the mickey head
which is okay but not so good for letters

but DS got done early at the pool
and I had to go pick him up

now DH is home
and I have ordered Pizza Joe for dinner
