Thursday 29th September

After a VERY slow start we arrive at Epcot at 11.30am! My heart sinks when we walk past the ticket entrance and there is a huge school party going in.

We head straight for the land to try soarin (I say straight there but we actually get very lost) the standby wait is 40 minutes so we get a fastpass and go on the living with the land ride 1st, this has a 15 minute wait and sure enough that whole school group seem to be in front of us.

We get of the ride and our fastpass time has not yet arrived and we are hungry (no breakfast today) so we stop at sunshine seasons for lunch we only have sandwiches but they are very tasty and defiantly fill the gap. The kids have a dessert called worms in dirt and proceed to make a huge mess eating it, how chocolate can get that far is beyond me. :confused3

Its now time for our go on soarin, even the fastpass has a line and im pleased to see the standby time has increased to 50 minutes! I have to say it felt great walking past that huge line and I vow not to attempt soarin without a fastpass, we are seated in the 2nd row for boarding. Well this ride is amazing it’s easily the best ride I went on. We did it again later on in the day and got lucky and were seated on the front row and that’s an even better experience. :Pinkbounc

We had 2 goes on test track, yet another ride we had missed last year and we really enjoyed this one. We then headed towards the front of the park for Spaceship Earth, the line was huge when we came into the park but I figured most people would have moved on to World Showcase by now. I was obviously right as we walked on to this one! From Spaceship Earth we headed to Ellen’s universe of energy (I thought this was quite good and I like Ellen anyway, it was also nice to sit in the cool theatre for a while)

We take a very slow walk over to the world showcase and head anti-clockwise to Canada. I take a look at the menu at Le Cellier as we have an ADR here next week. Off Kilter was playing soon so we took the chance for another rest and sat and watched them they were very good although ds was more impressed with a lizard running along the wall

We walked straight through the UK and stopped in France to watch a very good street entertainer standing on chairs.

Its now after 6pm so we head to the rose and crown, dh buys a drink at the bar and I sweet talk the staff at the podium by explaining that I am checking iN at 6.40pm for our 7pm ADR in order to get a seat on the patio. The cm tells me that she can’t guarantee it but they will do their best and I say I don’t mind waiting ;)
We are then seated at 7.15pm ON THE PATIO. :cheer2: :cheer2:
We order our appetizers, DH has the garlic mushrooms and I have the prawn cocktail. Dh has the steak for his entrée and I have the fish and chips (it was okay but not sensational) we have just ordered desserts (can’t remember what we had) when the heavens open! I really thought we would have to move inside-rain was dropping into DH’s beer at one point
Although the rain was really heavy it stopped after a short while and we got our desserts shortly before illuminations started.

I have never seen illuminations before and to see it while eating desserts on the patio of the rose and crown was a highlight of the trip. :wizard:

Typhoon Lagoon and the Grand Floridian tomorrow :)

How wonderful, the coveted R & C patio  . enjoying the report,
Claire xx

How do you manage to make a meal last from 7:15 until 9. Or are me and DH just really quick eaters :confused3

Hi Nat, loving your reports, glad you got to ride 'Soarin' - it is fab, but I can't believe you walked through the UK pavillion without stopping to buy some very over-priced Cadbury's chocolate :rotfl: It must've been lovely to see IllumiNations from the Rose and Crown. :)

i think the rain helped, it delayed the desserts for long enough :)

Another fab day Nat ~ Thanx for posting.

Fantastic to watch Illuminations from the R & C. Soarin was my hubbys favorite ride he would have done it all day if I would have let him. ;)

Great trip. Soarin sounds better every time someone mentions it :)
I've note tip about get patio seat at R & C ;)

WOW you seem to fit so much into each day but it doesn't seem rushed! On to day 8

Another great day!
rain was dropping into DH’s beer at one point

Wouldn't notice if it was american beer :rotfl:

On to the next part!

Another great day Nat, Soarin is great, we were lucky enough to have the front row a couple of times as well as the middle and bottom and I agree the front row is the best.
