Saturday 24th September

We slept in a bit today so we woke up to lovely sunny skies and grabbed a quick drink from the food court. I had brought some cereal bars with us so that was breakfast sorted.
AK opened at 9am and we arrived just after then, we headed straight for the safari ride.
We have done this ride before so I was a bit disappointed this time :confused3 just not as exciting.

We then headed over to Asia and kali river rapids as we missed doing this last year and everyone had enjoyed Splash Mountain yesterday
We used the fastpass machine and did the jungle trek while we waited for the time.
Ds was declared the captain of the boat and had his own special seat we got very wet but it was very hot so we didn’t mind. :umbrella:
We rode this three times that day!!
We had decided to eat an early lunch as we are at Boma early this evening so we stopped at flame tree. Dh and myself both had the hot beef sandwich and key lime pie YUMMY
The kids had the kid’s hot dog meal and hated it!
I forgot to write down what the total would have been (this happened so often I decided to stop bothering) we used 4 cs credits.
After lunch we did its tough to be a bug because the kids love this show…....everything I suggested going on from this point got the response is it a ride or a show mum
We then headed over to Dinoland, I hate this area of the park it appears very tacky to me :guilty: We rode the Triceratop spin (nearly as boring as Dumbo)
We then decided to try the dinosaur ride as again we missed out on this last year, it was great fun and the kids were not TOO scared :rotfl:
It’s about 3pm now so we headed back out over the bridge and camped out on a bench to watch the Jammin jungle parade. Ive not seen this before and we had a great viewing spot :Pinkbounc
As soon as the parade finished we headed for the exits and caught the AKL bus for our dinner at Boma.
We arrive at Boma at 5.20 and our ADR is for 5.40 so I check in at the podium and get a pager, we are just about to wander around when it goes off so we are soon seated at our table.
The food at the buffet was delicious especially the meat
The desserts were very yummy as well and I was really looking forward to trying the zebra domes (I wasn’t disappointed)

Total cost for this meal would have been $87.43 we used 4 ts credits
After the meal we headed for the viewing area, my mum would dearly have loved to stay here last year when we went but financially it was not an option so I had promised I would take some photos so she could she what she had missed ;) ;)

We caught the bus to DTD and transferred from there to the pop bus.
We then had a drink in the food caught and a browse around the resort.
The kids were playing in the water jets and DH and I chilled out on a bench people watching.

MGM and Fantasmic tomorrow.

Another great trippie Nat, it sounds like you had a good day at Animal Kingdom, I know what you mean about Dinoland , I hate it too, it just isn't Disney and is so tacky. Boma sounded good too, I've never been here but the food looks very nice. Great photos too Nat

Keep um coming Nat :)

I agree about the Dinorama place in AK - seems totally out of place and tacky :)

Hi Natalie,
Really enjoying the reports. What brave kids not being too scared of Dinosaur, that ride terrifies me at 27! :rotfl: Glad you enjoyed the Zebra Domes,
Claire xx

Great report Natalie - how were the crowds at AK that day - it was EMH, I think? Another one here who agrees about Dinoland - it always reminds me of a cheap fair that comes to your town twice a year.

The Boma desserts look great - as always. Maybe we'll get round to trying it one year.

we thought the crowds were very bearable most days, we planned our days around the EMH and it turned out fine :)

Lovely report Natalie, thanks for posting. :)

We liked Boma too but not the Zebra Domes - much too sweet and sickly for us.

sounds like another great day

and the photos are great

Thanks

Another great day and more lovely piccies.

Great report, I really enjoyed AK this time. I agree with your comments about Dinoland I thought it seemed out of place compared to the rest of the park.

My mouth is watering lookig at your desert photo's

Lovely day:)

Another lovely day :goodvibes My mouth is watering looking at those Boma desserts.

Mmmmmm those desserts look lovely. Another good trippie :cheer2:

A great day at AK Nat, your kids are very brave, My Vicki(15) is really scared of Dinosuar ride, she will ride anything, but this is the one ride that always scares her. She wont thank me for telling you that mind lol.
