Longoria - Parker divorce!

I don't think it's fair to say all stars are self aborsed or cheaters. They are many many out there that have long marriages

May not be fair, but it is mostly true. They are self absorbed, it is a character flaw. Sure not all, but most.

Celeb Divorce Atty: Raul Felder, says the celeb divorce rates are at around 80%. Usually because they move up in status, infidelity, or here it comes. NARCISSISM. It came form him not me. Also Dr Drew. Big research on the Celeb Phenom. They aren't normal, they have issues. He named narcissism as the biggest problem.

Who said that celebs were supposed to put up with cheating? You are the first person to mention that on this thread.

If you feel that Sandra should have worked harder on her marriage, then that is your opinion.

Diana was cheating right along with Charles, wasn't she? Doesn't justify what either one of them did though.

Well, the reason for their divorce is his texting another woman over a period of a year. I'd consider that cheating. Then another poster said that celebs dont' work hard on their marriages. I was asking how much cheating a celebrity spouse is supposed to put up with?

And no, I don't think Sandra should have worked harder on her marriage. You read that paragraph entirely wrong.

See my above post. I didn't say that you should accept cheating, I am stating that they do it and think they can get away with it. They want more and better and they think they are beyond getting caught.

Only thing worse than a celeb is a sports star. IMHO.

We agree on that. Hmm, now I'm not sure what I disagree with you on. lol

Disposable celeb marriages, yes, but in this case that is Parker's doing, not Longoria's; so to say that she doesn't value marriage and should work on it and is to into herself is what I disagree with. I knew it would come to me. lol

And with that, good night one and all. :)

Well maybe that part that you disagree with was not worded as it should be. I don't think that Eva should stay with him, but I wonder if he was left in situations or people like him were left in situations where it was too easy to hook up. oh and Good night.

Narcissism and power. I see it everyday in the business world, also. With Power comes more opportunity, and sadly, not enough people have the morals and the gumption to turn down easy opportunity.

This is common in all powerful positions, many more not reported in People magazine. No one has to be quoted, anyone with eyes and ears knows it. My question is why the nasty snarkiness towards them? Why even concern yourself with them if it doesn't concern you? Taking advantage of power is human nature, it's not positive by no stretch of the imagination. But thinking that it is ONLY amongst celebrities is ridiculous.

Unfortunately, not that many. You would be hard pressed to come up twenty that have survived the long haul.

I have heard that also, that most of the 'stars' in Hollywood are narcissistic. They may not have started out that way, but after years of being surrounded by Yes men and having everyone tell you how wonderful you are, they eventually become it.

I didn't know about the 80% divorce rate. That is horrible and so sad. I'm glad that Tony and Eva don't have kids. That just makes it even harder and sadder.

Whew, glad you don't think Sandra should have stayed with Jesse. I don't know any woman who could go through that publicly and then forgive and go back to the man. Cheating is the line I draw in the sand for my marriage. I could forgive a lot, but the thought of him being with another women makes me sick.

It was reported upthread that he cheated on her with 2 different women. :headache: I hope she had a good prenup and has a good lawyer.
So I read that Eva is on the market again
Get in line. I have a feeling that there are already a lot of other guys that have already called dibs. :lmao:

I had to wrack my pea brain while cooking to think of all the couples that have been married any amount of time. Here is what I thought of without looking for more:

Will and Jada Smith
Anette Benning and Warren Beaty
Ted Danson and Mary Steinburgen
William H Macy and Felicity Huffman
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
Ron Howard and Mrs. Ron Howard
John Travolta and Kelly Preston
Heidi Klum and Seal
Julia Roberts and her husband
Faith Hill and Tim McGraw
Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward

My pea brain couldn't taking any more strain and I didn't get to 20 obviously.

More impressive are the few who get married ONCE and it lasts. A lot of the people on that list have been married before or at the very least have kids with others. I don't consider a second or third marriage that lasts a decade or more much to be impressed by.

On DH there was a recent episode where her character befriends someone who is going through a divorce because her baseball playing husband cheated on her. "Gaby" had a line about what it must be like to be married to a ball player. At the time it was funny because I got the inside joke. Now it takes on a whole new meaning.

He's a pig. And I feel sorry for her.

I am not a man. I am not attracted to women, but is he blind. She is beautiful, and she really seems sweet on interviews. And yep, he is a pig and I do feel sorry for her.

You know something? Stuff happens. I've been married for many, many years and it's my second marriage. There was no way I was staying with the first guy but I won't go into that. I just want to say that things happen that you often have no control over.

Tony Parker was her 2nd husband.

If the San Antonio rumor mill is to be believed, it is an ex-teammate's wife. She is also getting divorced.
