My DH and oldest DS want to do both Test Track and Soarin'. We can't figure out what one has the longest wait time so we can use FP for it and wait for the other. We will not be rope dropping that day. Any suggestions would be appreciated! :) TIA!

While Test Track's line is longer, I'll counter the common perception and suggest you get your Fast Pass for Soarin. Here's why I recommend that.

First, most suggestions to FP Test Track encourage trying to do Soarin at rope drop. While that works, it's my belief that rope drop at Epcot is a huge waste of time. Attractions where rope drop benefits you are just too far apart (Frozen, Soarin, Test Track). Compare that with a rope drop at MK where you could conceivably do Jungle Cruise, Magic Carpets, Pirates, Big Thunder, and Splash in under an hour. I've done it.

Secondly, Test Track is subject to break down and/or be impacted by the weather. Those are obviously things you can't plan for 60 days in advance. And, while you can always go back to Test Track once it's back running, that may not fit into your schedule for the day. With three theaters, Soarin is almost guaranteed to be operating at your scheduled FP time.

Finally, Test Track is best ridden by getting into line 5-10 minutes before closing. The wait times at the end of the day are inflated. We got in line with a posted 40 minute wait last October at 8:55 and ended up only waiting 15 (and that included building our car). The added benefit is Test Track is a better attraction in the dark. The time of day you ride Soarin does not matter at all.

If you are not doing rope drop I would FP Test Track. It has longer waits. Soarin has shorter standby waits and it is easier to secure a late Soarin FP as your 4th FP.

For the last week when I was there Test Track always had a longer line than Soarin. If I had a choice I would FP Test Track over Soarin (especially since Soarin wait times are not as bad now with the third theatre).

But if you're happy to do Test Track single rider then the wait time can be significantly less.

I am also going to vote Test Track. It always seems to have longer waits and even when doing single rider, we've waited quite a long time about half the times we've chosen that path. Sometimes we've walked right on and others we've waited 45+minutes. In my personal experience Soarin' has seemed to move a lot faster with the addition of the third theater.

The only thing with TT though is the queue is vastly superior to that of Soarin. So while the line may be a tad longer, it's more entertaining.

I have the same question as the OP. I'm curious about whether either of these rides regularly has same day FP availability for a 4th FP.

I haven't seen the new Soarin' queue, but I would disagree with this just based on the fact that Test Track's is pretty boring to me. There are a couple of cars to look at, but other than that it's pretty boring and claustrophobic. You can't count the design phase as part of the wait, because that's part of the FP wait as well.

I like the cars, the videos, and the music. I haven't been to Soarin since it was refurbed but the queue was a brutal wait before. Absolutely boring and so many people crammed in like sheep.

It seems too with the additional bay on soarin that the wait times have improved. So with that said i would go with test track.

I FP Soarin and then head to Single Rider Test Track either at park opening or whenever the wait gets manageable. SR works great at TT due to the 3 seats per row configuration. They can race you through. Expecially if you don't care about making a vehicle. I've always had minimal waits in the SR line compared to Soarin standby .
