Long weekend in the UK

Hey gang

We have a "Bank Holiday" here in the UK this weekend so no work on Monday, I know I don't work but at least I get my DBF for another whole day.....................oh know that'll mean I won't be able to get on the boards so much ................... I think I'll send him to his mothers so that I can "work on DIS"

We don't have any plans for the weekend so we're gonna take it nice and easy - hoping for some sunshine....... we do get it here occassionally

LOL Dave! They probably feel that way about our 'federal holidays'!

And it seems to me that The Dutch have quite a few holidays too. Did you know that they have 2 Christmas Days???

We also have 2 Easter days and 2 Whitsun days

I indirectly work for a UK company and they have more days off than we do.

I couldnt find a camp site that still had room at such short notice, so im spending my long weekend at home. Its a good job about the camping thing really, as true to form its been raining all day!

LOL guys

So we get:

2 days for Xmas (but no Thanksgiving in November) but if Xmas falls ona weekend then we always get the Monday and Tuesday off!!

1 day for New Year

2 days for Easter

1 day for May Day (first Monday in May)

1 day for Whitsun

1 day for August Bank Holiday

That's only 8 a year!!!

But then we do generally have a minimum of 20 days annual leave on top of that - Paul gets 25 days a year!! Annual leave tends to increase the more service you put into a company.

Emma - shame about the camping still nice to be home for a Bank Holiday I think - take it easy - get on line
