Long Waits for POFQ Buses

Has anybody ever waited really long for a POFQ bus to or from the parks??? And do the buses have their own lanes to drive on? Is traffic an issue? We've never been to WDW, so are totally clueless here!!! We are going the week before Christmas and want to make sure we allow plenty of time to get to our ADR's. Thanks!!!

Stayed at POFQ for a week earlier this summer. While we rarely waited for more than 5 minutes for a bus to pick us up at POFQ, allthough we did have a wait of about 30-35 minutes coming back from MK one night. Buses are dispatched based upon "need" and, unfortunetly for us, the line for the return to POFQ was maybe 30 people while others had over a hundred continually waiting. Thus, two or three buses came for, say CBR before one came for POFQ. Had I known better, I'd have taken the POR bus and walked back to POFQ.

Disney buses run on the public streets and highways along with all other vehicles and therefor are subject to the same traffic problems as well.

can't say about the return trips but I can tell you that when leaving the resort, POFQ is picked up before the bus goes to POR. I don't think they had a problem at POFQ but the bus was standing room only twice when it got to POR.

We waited about 30 minutes for a bus to MK in the morning and the next day about 45 minutes for a bus to MGM later in the afternoon. I was actually quite frustrated at the time because we were only there for a couple of days and had limited time to spend at the parks. We have stayed at POFQ twice and POR once and sometimes the bus shows up a few minutes after you get to the bus stop and sometimes a long wait. I guess it depends on your timing. I really think the busses should come a little more often since they pick up for both resorts. It can take over an hour to get to a park if you've had a long wait at the bus stop added to all the stops at POR.

I just don't see how you predict how long it will take to get to your ressie's then!!! I guess you just have to allow an hour and a half!!!

We never had to wait long to get on the busses at POFQ..UNLESS you want to go to DTD. I would take the boat there. Busses to run there..but we waited over 30 mins one time...then just decided to try the boats...now we wouldn't do it any other way.

Good Grief! I guess you are right about leaving about 1 1/2 hours ahead of time. If it gets real bad, I can always hire a cab van for 10 people. Bummer! Another question...do they leave at scheduled times from the resort?? Or is that hit and miss if the bus is full and they just take off? As far as traffic goes, they should have a diamond lane just for themselves on the road. After all, Disney does own all of the land right? Of course it's just my opinion and I haven't even been there yet so what do I know? Anyways can't wait to see for myself. Thanks for the info so far!!

We never waited that long but I think they want you to be there on time for your ADR so they have to tell you to budget 90 minutes to get to the parks. On a really bad day I could kind of see it happening but since POFQ is picked up first it would have to be Christmas or Easter for a wait that long.
