Long Trip, Short Report

How lucky you are! Can I be really, really nosy and ask how much a whole month at Disney cost you in terms of food and other miscellaneous expenses? Geesh, it takes us at least a year to save for one week:o . Good for you, I'm so glad you were able to do it.

Wow....such a wonderful long stay in WDW MdmMim. I'm going to have to try this one day once my kids are grown. Did you have any problems budgeting for 30 days of meals and all ?
Thanks for the report---glad you had a fantastic time.

My dream has been to spend a month or more in the winter at WDW/DVC! The only part of your trip that would not have been a dream for me would be a studio for that long, but HEY! It's still Disney! Great little report!

:earseek: :earseek:

Wow!!!

Glad you had a great time for such a long time!!! And thanks for letting us know about your trip. It gives me something to aspire to one day!

Did you manage to snag a standard view studio to save on points for such a long stay?

Once again, wow! Color me green here too! ::yes::

Now off to count my points to see if I too can one day do this...

How was it staying at either resort solo?
Do you have any tips for the solo DVC traveler?
Do you think you would have fared as well in another DVC location? I
will be traveling solo soon.

That is awesome, and I could definitely stay in a studio for 33 days because I would sleep by the pool!

That was so great of KarenNY to give you a lift to Winn Dixie.

Karen is a very nice lady!!!

33 days - oh how wonderful.

did you get bore? Did you do the theme parks every day?

I don't think I could stay at the same place for that long - I mean I LOVE studios - but I also like different! So I would spend a week at OKW, then VWL, then BCV, then BWV, then when built SSR....

one day when I am retired.....

so ::yes:: I am green with envy!!!

glad you had great time and fun too!

[Did you book day by day or all at once?]
I actually booked in sections,as my plans underwent some changes due to DH's job. (We had to cancel a cruise, so I needed to fill in a 7-day gap in the middle of the vacation.) The CM's made no notice of the length of the trip. I booked a standard room in my 11 month window.

[Can I be really, really nosy and ask how much a whole month at Disney cost you in terms of food and other miscellaneous expenses?]
It really wasn't too bad, as I just had myself to pay for. I just about stayed on budget and did not purchase many items (food, drinks, a few afternoons at the pool bar.) ;) I utilized many DVC and AP dining discounts. I had a leisurely, relaxing breakfast each day, as I didn't have to rush off anywhere. It was such a luxury!

[How was it staying at either resort solo?]
I think the studios are just perfect for a solo traveler. (The only thing I missed was the washer and dryer, but I had no problem with the availability of the laundry room.)

[Did you get bored? Did you do the theme parks every day?]
I did the parks most days. Sometimes I'd just stroll over to Epcot to see the British Invasion and/or Illuminations--it's so pretty there at night.

I plan to do this again in the future, but probably not for a few years, as some family vacations are in the works for next year.
It truly was my dream come true.
