Hi all. I haven't really posted since our trip to the Fort last August. We had such a great time both then and during our first day at the Fort. You really can't beat the price compared to the resorts and each time we were able to stay for 10 wonderful days.

But I think our camping days are pretty much over - the oldest child has already moved out, the middle child is entering her senior year and will be off to college after that and then it will just be me, DH and the youngest child, who's going into 7th grade this fall. I can't see us doing much camping just the three of us, plus we've started a business that takes up a lot of our prime summer camping days.

So.....we're selling our popup. I have such mixed feelings - I sure do love her and we've had some amazing trips. But it's time and I'd rather see a nice young family own her and enjoy using her as much as we did to create their own wonderful memories. And if they take it to Disney, well it's already got the Fort Wilderness Happy Camper sticker on there! LOL

Now this doesn't mean there isn't any more Disney in our future. We already have a trip booked for September 2017 - but this trip is just DH and I. 4-day cruise followed by 5 days in WDW staying at POP. Sort of revisiting our honeymoon (we stayed at POP) but with a cruise first. I'm very excited, but at the same time I know I will miss staying at the Fort. I'm sure we'll wander over a time or two while there just to reminisce. We also love POP and have stayed there two times, so it will be fun going back there for the first time since 2011.

Looking forward to the cruise as well - our first ever cruise and obviously our first Disney cruise. Fun!

Too bad!! :confused3 Don't you realize some of your best camping days are ahead of you with only one child going, or even as empty nesters?? :thumbsup2 A shame to give up now! It's fun at any age or time of life. It's not just as an economy move. :goodvibes

Oh - we're not done, just done for now and I can't see the popup sitting there unused and deteriorating over the next couple of years. DH and I have plans once all the kids are out of the house, but will look for something other than a popup at that time.

Oh, I completely understand. I was racing for about 7 years. That meant being at the shop or on the road most of the time. I considered selling my 5er many times in those 7 years. I didn't though. I retired from racing 2 seasons ago. Started camping again. Liked it so much we traded our 13 year old 5er that was a great fit when DS was in grade school, but a little tight now that he's 18 and a Sr in high school.

We are still planning trips to the Fort. We'll actually be there in September 2017 too. Stay in touch on here and stop by when you are getting your Fort fix.

You will love the Disney cruise! Caution, they are addicting. Took our first one two years ago as a high school graduation gift for our DS, thinking it would be our only one. Well, DH and I went on another this past April and have another booked for next May! Happy sailing.
