Ok, I know December's weather can be variable, but is there any long range weather forecast out there that you can access without paying $5.95 or $33.95 or whatever?

Doesn't the State Climatology Department in Florida do long range trend forecasts like MN does?

I am just needing a little info here! Anyone have a site they can recommend?

I saw one in the farmers almanac, it wasn't pretty!

December 2004
1st-3rd. Rain/wet snow shifts into Tennessee, points south to Gulf Coast, then clear, cold. 4th-7th. Storm from Texas moves up to Ohio River Valley, depositing heavy rain/wet snow northern portions Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee. Very cold air follows. Freeze conditions into Florida. 8th to 11th. Unseasonably cold, dry. 12th-15th. Frigid air extends into Florida, then milder. 16th-19th. Mixed clouds. Mild days; chilly nights. 20th-23rd. Showers, wet snow, then bitterly cold air. 24th-27th. Showery rains fall across much of Southeast. 28th-31st. Blustery winds diminish.

Yuck that isnt pretty!
And it is saying snow for texas on the date I am supposed to fly out! Well for anyone who doesnt know, texas shuts down if it snows!!

Well I sure hope that is not TOO accurate!

I can tell you what we experienced last year. When we first got there it was cold (or at least cold to a Georgia person). We didn't bring any sweatshirts and ended up buying some. By weeks end it got warmer during the day but at night was still pretty chilly.

I've had both warm and dry and cold and wet during December. Who knows until about a week ahead anyway?

However, I do have this other url for rain predictions:

http://www.dryday.com/30dayWeather/US/Florida/Orlando.html

and this one for a 10-day forecast:

When we went in 2000, it was FREEZING! Didn't get above freezing one day -- brrrrr! But, the past two Decembers, we went to Blizzard Beach. A little cool, but lots of fun.

So, I guess you just don't know. I do know it's FUN, FUN, FUN no matter the weather! You're in Disney World!

Living in Oklahoma - we never predict the weather unless for the next day and even then, it will bite you on the bu--:sunny: Florida is alot like our State. As Will Rogers said about Oklahoma "If you don't like the weather here, stick around for 15 minutes. It'll change." And no, I didn't hear him say this personally, I'm only 40 for goodness sake. :teeth:

I've been in December several times before. That's why I want to see a forecast... it's never been the same twice so I know that what happened last year, or even two years ago, won't necessarily be what happens this year.

I have been to dryday, but frankly, I guess I'll stick it out rather than pay $5.95 to see their forecast for December.

It's the precipitation I worry about. Being from MN, cool weather for FL is perfectly comfy for us. But rainy is not what I hope to see.

We've been watching it also..not sure what to pack...clothing for warm or cold temp's??
Check out www.accuweather.com they do a 15 day forcast. I punch in 32830, the zipcode for Lake Beuna Vista.

I'll be watching right along with you!

In my guidebook it says:
December Averages

Low
49

High
71

Average Rainfall
2.3 inches

then again, the sites that Pooh's Pal recommended are accurate.

Did anyone notice that dryday and intellicast differ on what the first part of nov????? is I guess it really doesnt matter just hoping along with everyone else it is dry and at least bearable tempwise since we will be going to discovery cove to swim with dolphins on the thurs of our trip

Well here is the farmers almanac for FL for DEC. For those who wanted cold weather mixed in with Christmas decorations here you go:

December 2004
1st-3rd. Rain/wet snow shifts into Tennessee, points south to Gulf Coast, then clear, cold. 4th-7th. Storm from Texas moves up to Ohio River Valley, depositing heavy rain/wet snow northern portions Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee. Very cold air follows. Freeze conditions into Florida. 8th to 11th. Unseasonably cold, dry. 12th-15th. Frigid air extends into Florida, then milder. 16th-19th. Mixed clouds. Mild days; chilly nights. 20th-23rd. Showers, wet snow, then bitterly cold air. 24th-27th. Showery rains fall across much of Southeast. 28th-31st. Blustery winds diminish.

We are leaving from TX so I apologize from bringing some of TX with us.

Just realize everyone that ALL of these "long range" forecasts have about a 50% chance of being right----

IF they had any confidence whatsoever in the "10 day" forecast, they should issue it just ONCE every 10 days.
But what you find is a 10 day forecast issued each and every day--with the forecast you read yesterday changed. And the next day changed again..and so on. IT will probably change 10 times in 10 days!!!

PS> Look at my area daily forecast (not 10 days--just 12 hours!!). Prediction-- rain at nite and into early morning.
Well--no. Not a drop fell last nite and it's just partly cloudy.

Hardly inspires confidence in the 10 day stuff--

I plan to just wait and see. I was obsessed with the weather for our wedding in April and The Farmer's Almanac predicted rain. I was soooo worried about it and it turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day! Nothing is 100% at this point so I am not going to worry about it yet!

Pack for anything and be glad you're in Disney World. I do hate packing for December for that very reason. We usually don't plan on doing laundry and in the past it has been sad the amount of luggage we had for 2 people. Now with our little one...well I'm planning on doing laundry. Cold in Florida is better than cold in Oklahoma:D
