:Pinkbounc I'm so excited! Yesteday I had a discussion with Dh about a possible trip to Disneyland, and it looks like we are in agreement!

We haven't been since, well how long has it been? We were there while DCA's bear mountain and that giant sun wheel were being built. And Big Thunder BBQ was still open. (Is the new place as good BBQ wise?)

Anyways, we are going over Valentine's and President's day weekend. Dh's college is having a four day weekend, so it will work out well! And we are planning a really relaxed no hurry kind of trip with our little baby girl who will be about 10 months old then.

Any tips on the overlooked neat things to do when you are slowed down?

Where to eat tips? (You know what I miss, but this is going to date when I got married and was on our honeymoon, I miss when Carnation had the restaurant and ice cream bar, before it got turned into the Cafe... they had the best Vanilla Cokes, and Chocolate Cokes!!!)

Thanks for the help!

I can't answer all of your questions, but I'll try to answer some.

I think you're talking about Rancho del Zocalo, which is a counter service restaurant near Big Thunder. We ate there, it's a nice atmosphere. They have two counters, one with BBQ, one with Mexican. We had the BBQ, and while it was pretty good (and HUGE portions), it's nothing spectacular. However, I was envious of those eating the Mexican, that looked really good!

There are lots of places to eat in DD too which are very good.

Yes that's where I was thinking about! The Rancho del Zocalo. I remember before they built that how my family would never eat at the mexican restaurant that was there before that because my step-mom was so dissapointed with the bland mexican food.

Personally I'm not that big on Mexican food, but the BBQ, if it's like what Big Thunder used to serve, I'll be pleased!

Anyone have any tips of things that get overlooked in a hurry? I figure with my little one in tow I should slow down and see the the neat stuff that gets overlooked!

Ride the Story Book Boats at night. You don't think it would be a very fun ride at night, but all the little villages lit up are beautiful. Make sure to make it to Princess Story time in the Princess shop by the castle. Even if your little one is too little to "get it" you will enjoy the break from the day and she will love to have a story read to her I'm sure.

The Wishing Well just before the castle is a wonderful spot for a break and sometime Snow White is there to meet the guests.

Pressed pennies are a nice, inexpensive thing to collect. You can buy the penny book at the Disney shops for 5.00 and get some pressed pennies.

http://hiddenmickeys.org/ is another neat site for behind the scenes and history of DL.
